    So the Bama Rev-X will be for the S550 V6 owners out there who are looking for an affordable tuning option to deliver not only more power, but also more torque to your 3.7L-powered Mustang. Prospective buyers will be receiving two custom tunes, in addition to being enrolled into Bama's Free Tunes for Life Program, which allows users to get tune updates as your modifications grow. Now, along with the Bama tunes, owners will be receiving the latest device here, called the "Rev-X tuner" with the added benefit of cloud-based tuning, which is an industry first. Your price point is going to be right around $400, and you're looking at a simple one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter when it does come time to get these tunes loaded to your ride. Bama Performance has been doing their thing in the Mustang world for well over 10 years now, and has become one of the biggest names in the industry, thanks to combining affordable prices, great customer service, and pretty solid gains. Now, their Free Tunes for Life Program continues to be a big hit with many Mustang owners out there, because let's face it, guys. Modifications never really seem to end and with the company's program, you get a tune revision every time you add a modification, allowing you to maximize your performance. But aside from the Free Tunes for Life Program, Bama likes to deliver a couple of different tuning options, their Performance V2 and their Race V2 tunes. Now, a Performance tune is a little bit more geared towards the street. A small bump in power, a little bit better throttle response, improved shift firmness for those automatic cars. The Race tune, on the other hand, is super-aggressive and is designed for all out performance, using 93 octane or higher fuel. But let's stop beating around the bush. Let's talk about some of the numbers you might be able to expect on your 2015 and newer V6 Mustang.Now, we already established a baseline run earlier using our automatic-equipped 2015 V6. We then reran the car using the 93 octane Bama Race tune, and here are those results. A baseline run with our auto-equipped V6 Mustang gave us 241 horsepower, and 235 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels. With that 93 octane Bama Race tune uploaded, the car is now making 258 horsepower, and 248 pound-feet of torque, again, at the rear wheels. Now, that's good for a peak gain of 17 horsepower over those baseline numbers, and gains of as much as 17 horsepower, and 20 pound-feet of torque under the curve. So all in all, the mighty Cyclone powerplant did pretty well with the Dyno test here. The peak gains were pretty impressive, as were the numbers down low, all in all, gains most owners should be able to notice the moment the tune is uploaded. Now, you have to keep in mind here, gang, Dynos are going to be different. Your conditions will vary slightly. So ultimately, your results might not be the same as ours. However, this is just to give you a better idea of what you might be able to expect with the Bama tuning and your 3.7 V6. Now, along with these power numbers, prospective buyers can also look forward to things like improved throttle response, a nice, smooth idle, and great drivability, just to name a few. Automatic-equipped cars can look forward to snappier shifts and a sportier feel all around. But as I pointed out earlier, this package does include two different custom tunes from the Bama Performance team, along with unlimited data log revisions to get the best experience possible. Bama also offers more in-depth tunes for things like nitrous, E85, and forced induction. But because those tunes are a little bit more involved, they are going to cost you a little bit more. But let's quickly touch on this Rev-X device here, because there is some really cool things to talk about. Now, on the surface, the Rev-X will be very similar to the X4 that you guys probably all know and love, in regards to just basic features and operation, but with one big exception and that is this new cloud-based tuning system. What does this mean for you guys? Well, instead of needing a laptop to receive your tunes from the Bama team, you're just simply going to connect the Rev-X device to a WiFi signal. It's going to prompt you to download these tunes from the cloud, and that's pretty much it. It's a nice feature for a few different reasons. First and foremost, guys, it's really going to speed up the process of not only receiving your tunes, but also loading them onto the device, in addition to not needing a computer to get you up and running, messing with emails, things like that. If you're a Mac user, well, this is a complete gamechanger, guys, because let's face it. Most aftermarket tuning devices aren't Apple-compatible. Now, for starters, you are getting the onscreen gauges and data logging capable of reading and displaying up to eight different values at one time. Some of these include things like air-fuel ratio, intake air temp, boost, coolant temp, ignition timing, just to name a few. But even though the case is a little different, the overall dimensions really haven't changed all that much. It's still roughly the same size as most smartphones out there. Complete with a three-inch, full-color LCD screen, it is configurable or viewable in two different ways. You have your Portrait mode, which is going to be the straight up and down. Or you can flip it over to its side and give you that Landscape mode. Now, on the topic of displaying this device, one thing that I actually thought was really cool about this is this little portion here on the back. It's actually magnetic. So if you have one of those cell phone holders that is magnet-based, it's going to be a great way to display the device for everyday driving. But it's also going to make it very easy to remove, toss in the glovebox or center console when needed. But in addition to all of the stuff we've already talked about so far here with the device, you can also expect some of the other greatest hits, if you will, such as your WiFi capabilities, which will allow you to download those tunes wirelessly from the cloud, like we already talked about. But it's also going to allow you to download any future firmware updates to the device without the need for the computer, again, like we've already mentioned. Now, even though you are only receiving two custom tunes from the Bama Performance team, the Rev-X tuner does have the capabilities to hold up to 10 at one time. Now, of course, you will be able to read and clear those diagnostic trouble codes, better known to you guys as "check engine lights," with the Rev-X device here, in addition to returning the car to stock if you ever needed or wanted to during your time of ownership. The Rev-X does also include both your USB cable, which can be used to connect this to a laptop for data logging and things like that, in conjunction with your OBD-II cable as well, which will be used to connect the Rev-X device to your S550. Speaking of connecting this little guy to your ride here, let's get into the install briefly, using the Rev-X device. Honestly, guys, it's very straightforward. So one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, you don't even have to get your hands dirty, and maybe 30 minutes of your time to get you up and running for the very first time. This might seem pretty obvious, but I strongly recommend just following the included instructions with the Rev-X tuner, just for the initial startup, but also the basic operation. This will also help you get those tunes onto the device for the very first time. Once you have that taken care of, go ahead and plug the device into your OBD-II port and wait for it to power on. Now, you can navigate to the Program Vehicle tab and select a tune you wish to upload.     Does the tunner take the governer gear off?

    • The Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT can be used to remove or increase the speed limiter, however certain modifications may be required for this for safety reasons. We recommend consulting with BAMA performance to verify they will provide these changes with your modifications and vehicle.

    • You certainly can make adjustments, and what the tuner doesn't offer adjustments itself for, Bama's custom tunes would be able to help as well. If you have any additional questions on how Bama can help, I would shoot Bama a call 1-888-226-9764

    Does HP accumulate? For example if I purchased this tuner and applied the race tune which adds around 22 HP and got a tune from MPT after that which adds let's say 35 HP and let's say my mustang has 300 HP to begin with, would that total out to be 357 HP or would it go from 322 HP and then up to 335 HP after the MPT tune was applied?

    • All tuners, such as the Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT will save your stock tune to the device, then erase the tune from the vehicles computer and upload the custom tunes provided. If you were to do this with the Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT, then get a second tuner with the MPT tunes, it would save the BAMA tune as the "stock file" and erase it from the computer, allowing the MPT tune to be written. At no time can two tunes be active on the vehicle.

    If I don't have anyway 93 octane gas even close to my location does using 91 or anything even less affect the performance of the tune? And if so would it be a good idea to get the tune if the only way I can get 93 octane gas is to drive 3 hours away?

    • The Bama Rev-X Tuner comes with custom tunes however the tunes will be specific to your application. If you only have 91 octane close by, you can request a 91 tune since 93 is scarce in your area. You can still request a 93 octane tune, however, it is to be used with 93 octane fuel only. The higher the octane, the more resistant the fuel becomes to pre-ignition and the vehicle can be tuned more aggressively, so you may see some power differences depending on the application.

    I'm planning on taking the cat off of my car. Usually that throws a code and messes with the AFR in the ECU. Is Bama able to customize a tune to solve this issue or will I need to get a custom dyno tune to solve the issue?

    • Bama is indeed able to write a custom tune to correct the deleting of your catalytic converters.

    hello i have a question i have a 2016 mustang v6 and am planning to tune my car in the future. wanted to ask do i need to get better cooling systems? like for the engine and transmission? just wondering because i know a tune can cause the engine to work more and gain more heat. as same as the transmisson. is this true? i just dont want to take a chance of things breaking.     Can this be set up to only change the automatic transmission settings when the transmission is in "sport" mode on my 2016 automatic V6?       weird but my ghost cam tune was faster then a regular 93 tune, also had to return mine because it had memory problems.

      Totally different car

      Was a little skeptical on how much difference a tune would make only paring it with Roush's CAI and Axle Back exhaust on a manual transmission. You can definitely tell the difference using the Performance Tune.

      Horrible custom tune from BAMA

      Made my mustang drive and feel horrible. BAMA was unable to produce a tune file that worked with my mustang. First attempt: shift points were off and extremely jerky. Second attempt: they gave me a tune that made the vehicle feel like a prius. Third attempt: exactly like the first. I ended up returning the tuner for a refund.

      So far hasn't been worth the $$

      It was easy to install and felt a difference in driving but I have been having issues with my tunes I've contacted them for the second time hopefully they can fix the problems for now I prefer to have my car to its factory settings.

      Not bad at all

      It took me over a year to decide wether to buy this product or not. Now all I have to say is that it was totally worth it. If you have an automatic you will not be disappointed as it gets off the line quick and spinning. “Yes, not bad for a v6”.

      Not Great, Not Terrible

      The Bama tuner is a good product, not great. there is definitely a noticeable difference in instantaneous, "pull," and it is very easy to use. The only thing that bothers me is how expensive the product is for such a small change. Either way, I still recommend the product, just maybe look into used ones for cheaper!

      Recieved defective device

      2017 EcoBoost- After waiting the 7 days to get the 2 tunes sent to the cloud and talking to bama specialists we came to the conclusion the device was defective. I now have to send it off to sct and hope they can fix it. Not a pleasant experience after paying $400.

      Must have Mod

      This is my 1st V6 Mustang, My last Mustang was a 2006 GT that was totaled by a hit-n-run driver that was tuned with a SCT and Bama tunes, I knew the 1st thing I wanted to do with my V6 was get a tuner with Bama tunes, best decision I have made so far, the 93 race tune woke up my V6 and it feels every bit as strong as my GT when it was stock, only thing is I should have went with the 93 Performance tune instead of the 89 performance tune, couldn't see much of a performance difference, hope to scrape up enough money to get a 93 Performance tune in the near future.

      Sick sick sick! Love this tuner!

      I was reluctant buying my first tuner with all the negative reads about bama. Lemme tell you, don't believe the "trolls" First tuner and was as easy as can be to upload. Once paired and uploaded, I took my pony for a ride. Wow!! Instant gratification. I seriously was thrown back into my seat when I opened it up on the hwy. Thank you American Muscle!

      Simple and effective!!

      Received with my new CandL cold air intake and installed both. Saw an increase in both performance and MPG was averaging 25-27 now up near 30 on longer trips.

      Car feels lighter

      This is the first time using a product like this. Everything from connecting the tuner to wifi to updating / downloading the tunes to installing the tune went smooth. The on screen prompts walk you thru everything so there are no surprises. After driving the car for several miles, I didn't feel a whole lot of difference on the lower rpm range. When you put your foot down and open her up, it feels like a different car. The car just feels lighter, like the motor just woke up. I was on the fence purchasing this, due to still being under warranty, but I'm glad I did. Ford should have done this from the factory. I have a little over 1000 miles with the tune and haven't had any issues.

      A must needed mod!

      Picked this up only after adding a Roush CAI and BBK 73mm throttle body. Both mods by themselves added some power but was enhanced tremendously when adding a custom tune from Bama. Initially, I didn't like the shift points on the first tune as the shift points were overly aggressive to my liking. Bama specialists were outstanding and very responsive to emails about my concerns and sent 3-4 new custom tunes each within about 24 hours. The new tunes were all very different, which gave me options to fit my needs. Outstanding mod!
