Hey guys, I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and today I have two different throttle body options from BBK Performance. I’m taking a look at the 70 and 75mm throttle body for the 4.6L V8 found in all 96-04 Mustang GTs. BBK is one of those companies that lives and dies on Mustangs and late model EFI performance, and it shows with all their quality parts, including these throttle bodies. Now both of these options would be a huge upgrade over the ultra restrictive 56mm factory throttle body. Now depending on your setup either the 70 or 75mm throttle body might work out a little better for you, but that all depends on your mods. The 70mm version will be great for those of you with mild bolt-ons, you know, intakes, header, exhaust, those sorts of things. Now this would be a great complement to those mods, and free up any additional power being held back by an ultra restrictive factory throttle body. The larger 75mm version is geared towards more of a radical setup – big cams, nitrous, high compression or forced induction, that would need maximum airflow. Both of these throttle bodies are CNC’d from high quality aluminum alloy and feature beefed up components that will only add to the longevity and quality of these throttle bodies. Neither of these throttle bodies require a tune but it’s always recommended to make the most out of any additional mods. Installing these new throttle bodies is very straight forward and should only take you about an hour. All you have to do is remove the factory throttle body, transfer the TPS sensor over to the new BBK throttle body, using the included gasket. After that, reinstall the new BBK throttle body and you should be good to go. So if you're looking for more ways to help your 2 valve 4.6 breath a little easier, and you've already taken care of the basics, then you'll definitely want to check out these throttle bodies from BBK Performance.

Overall Peformance Improved
I decided to buy this unit because I plan to go forced induction in the future. My car has all the bolt-ons and wanted to see if the throttle body will make any difference. I can say that it has in a positive way. Accelerating is much smoother and throttle response is very positive. I felt that I got more power out of the engine with the throttle body upgrade. The difference can be felt though out the power band as well as above 3000K rpms. Installation was a snap. A great bang for the buck piece.Helpful (10)

TOTALLY worth it!
I LOVE my BBK 75mm throttle body for my 2004 Mustang GT. Fit right on perfectly. And along with my other upgrades this is just what i needed. My car gained hourse power and now has this awesome turbo like sound to it, I could tell the hourse power increase as soon as i took off for the first time! Totally worth it!!Helpful (9)
I have a 2002 GT Mustang 4.6. It says carb legal from 96 to o 01 for this TB. I'm actually running it and it passed smog 4 times but the last time I smoged it it didn't pass because it didn't have the EO number on it. So is it legal for California? And what do I do to get it to pass? Thank you. I'm running a Kenne Bell blower too.
Is this street legal and will it pass the Emission test on California
This would be Carb legal under Carb number D-245-13 for 96-01 models only.
I have a 2004 Saleen with the Series IV Supercharger. Will this fit my blower and how much more of a throttle body is this compared to the stock one?
The Series IV just ran a GT style throttle body, this will absolutely fit. Your Series IV supercharger should be set up with a 65mm throttle body if that's still stock. That's an excellent increase in airflow for a supercharged Mustang, just be sure to get a dyno tune for proper calibration since you're supercharged.
Will this fit on the edelbrock ultra low profile intake elbow?
No, unfortunately the Edelbrock Ultra Low Profile Throttle Body Intake Elbow, item 56532, https://www.americanmuscle.com/edelbrock-manifold-adapter.html, is designed for 90mm race style throttle bodies.
Will this fit on my C L upper intake plenum?
Yes, the C&L Upper Intake Plenum's will work with the BBK 75mm Throttle Body or 70mm throttle bodies.
Probably? However, you'd still be way better off with a 70mm throttle body, I would highly suggest not to get a 75mm as it is most certainly overkill for a stock Mustang.
The BBK 75mm Throttle Body (96-04 GT) will use a 3" coupler.
No this throttle body does not require a tune. Although you will get the best performance from it with a tune
