Hey everybody, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and this is my detailed look at BBK's 85 and 90mm Throttle Body options fitting your 2015 and newer Mustang GT. The BBK throttle body options are going to be for any S550 GT owner out there who is looking for every last bit of power out of their naturally aspirated or forced induction five liter setup. Let's face it guys, your motors are essentially glorified air pumps. Their job, to move air in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible, making you go faster in the process. Now certain parts will help your efficiency more than others. For instance, a set of long tube patterns will be a little bit more beneficial in the quest for big power than say an aftermarket axle back exhaust system for instance. But both are going to be critical when you start making some big power. That being said, a throttle body is going to be one of those parts that's not going to make a ton of power on its own, but will be beneficial when the quest for more power starts getting a little bit more real. The factory GT throttle body is 80mm, guys. So BBK is giving you the option of stepping up either five or ten additional millimeters in diameter, depending on your application. Now a quick rule of thumb, I always like to recommend the 85mm option for naturally aspirated setups. While the 90mm option would be a perfect addition to any forced induction setup, whether you're going centrifugal blower or turbo application. Breaking down the construction a little bit, guys, here's what you're going to be looking at. Now high quality, 356 grade CNCed aluminium for pretty much the entire body. We were lucky enough to take a tour of the BBK facilities down in southern California. We've seen how these things take shape, and let me just tell you, it's very impressive. The throttle body essentially starts out life as a hunk of aluminium and then it's CNCed down to the final product you see here. One thing I do want to point out, BBK utilizes Ford OEM electronics for their drive by wire stuff, everything is pre-wired, ready to go, plug and play application here. You're not going to have to worry about a third party electronics or anything goofy with that. Now this is a no tune required part, meaning guys you can plug this thing in and go without the use of a custom tune. That's never a bad idea, that's always going to maximize your potential. Comparing this price-wise to other options on the market right now is kind of tough, because honestly, there's not a lot available for the S550 GT. That being said, you're going to be dropping around 500 bones for the BBK throttle body option, which might seem a little steep for some of you guys at home. But when you're trying to squeeze every last bit of power out of your setup, you have to pay to play. Switching gears to the install here, guys. Very simple stuff. You're looking at a one out of three wrench job, on my overall difficulty meter. Maybe 30 minutes to an hour in the garage or driveway to get everything knocked out. Basically if you're a first time wrencher out there, don't be afraid of this one. Only four bolts holding the throttle body onto your intake manifold. So grab yourself a basic socket set, a few extensions, and a flathead screwdriver to remove your intake from the actual throttle body. You're not going to have to totally remove the intake from the car, but just enough so you can gain access to the four bolts here. BBK does include brand new hardware for the new throttle body. So again, remove that factory throttle body, reinstall the new BBK in reverse order, and you should be good to go. All right guys, to wrap this one up here. In my opinion, a throttle body shouldn't be the first place you go in looking for more power out of your ride, because honestly, there are more gains to be had using different modifications for around the same price point. That being said, once you tackle all those basic modifications and you are looking for more power, an aftermarket throttle body from BBK will help you achieve more power through your naturally aspirated or forced induction setup when compared to your factory throttle body. Can the C L Racer Cold Air Intake fit the 90mm throttle body?

Would like to know the dimensions of the outside of the throttle body. I.E. height, width, depth as I have limited space and hopefully fitting this to a jaguar on stand alone engine management.

  • Unfortunately due to the BBK 90mm Throttle Body being a direct fit item for the Mustang, we do not have any specific dimensions for the throttle body. We would recommend contacting BBK directly for specific measurements.

hi I am using 90mm bbk T/B. On the way home it started puddle and gave me engine ck light. so i used my tuner to run code and detected P2111. Is oem TPS will fix problem?

Good day, cant choose between Manifold GT 350 and Victor II ... What different between those two? I will not go for Kompressor i will stay with Manifold and Throttle.. Set -> Airfold / Headers Kooks / BBK or GT350 Throttle / Manifold GT350 or Victor II. What to get with that Set max. PS do you have any Feedbacks ? Which Throttle will you suggest BBK 90MM or from GT350 87MM? Kind Regards,

  • Unfortuantely we do not offer the Edelbrock Victor II Intake manifold so we have been unable to test this manifold compared to the Ford Performance GT350 5.2L Voodoo Intake Manifold. We do know both the Edelbrock and Ford Performance intake manifold are designed for engines making peak power up to 7500RPM, meaning these will not be the best choice for a daily driver, as low end power does get sacrificed for these high rpm gains. For the GT350 Intake, the GT350 throttle body would be required, however for the Edelbrock, either should be able to be used, however we have not tested this manifold, so we do not know which performs best in conjunction with the Victor II.

Would I be able to connect to the 90mm throttle body with stock coupler ?or would the coupler from my steeda cai do it?or would I have to go out and buy one?if I did have to buy one were would I be able to?because pro boys or auto zone ain't it ,please help

  • Most stock couplers will fit however the fitment is extremely tight and may require that the coupler we warmed-up to help stretch it over the throttle body. Aftermarket intakes typically have larger couplers and while it will still be a tight fit onto the throttle body, it should fit much more easily.

    Hold On After Purchasing This Mod

    This BBK 90mm Throttle Body upgrade is one that should be on every Mustang lovers list! The throttle response improvement is an immediate eye opener especially when coupled with the BBK Black Out and BAMA tune. Gas mileage has went down a little simply because I want to put it to the floor just that much more! Solid buy, you won't be disappointed.

    Bbk 90mm

    I gave this product 4 stars and could have easily gave 5. I gave 4 because I think this item is to pricy! It does work. I picked up 11hp and 9lbs of torque on the dyno. Same day test dyno. I have a lund N gauge tune, and jlt coldair, and corsa catback. Lund warned me that there has been issues with the throttle bodies and they don't make any extra power whatsoever. That is false! My tune felt great. But with the throttle body, the response was even better with bbk. Didn't pick up alot of power. But it did on the dyno and I can feel it when I drive. Not a huge difference. But one that you can certainly tell. Acceleration is better and the whistle on my jlt is louder. I do recommend this product. I don't know why lund or some others say stay away. I have had it for 3 weeks now and no codes and no issue's at all. Car idles smoother and revs better. My only complaint is that this item is too expensive. But it will come into play more when I go supercharged.

    BBK 90mm Throttle body

    Very easy installation, but a little tight getting the OEM hose back on the new throttle body. First step in installing a super charger.. Performance gained, tell you after the blower is on!!!

    wow you want to go even faster? Get ya one. No problem putting it on and an unbelievable improvement. A little tuff getting the 80mm boot to fit the 90mm body. It can be done, I used a little soap and old man strength.

    90 mm bbk on my 2015 GT Auto

    Car stumbles and kills. I have no idea why. Car is tuned so it should be perfect for the 90 mm. WTH?? Any help is appreciated. Once you punch it she kills out.

    Worth the price

    Get this upgrade!

    Purchased the BBK 90mm Throttle Body for my wife's '15 GT. Already has CAI, and Exhaust. She installed in about 45 minutes total. Easy install. WOW! What a difference! The car revs faster, and smoother and idles smoother. Unexpected upside..she has a 44 mile round trip to work every day going down a mountain. Gained about 4mpg on the trip. Granted this is not back up hill but it is impressive. You can feel the difference and it is well worth the $550!

    Wow!

    Quality TB. Was very impressed by BBK and the power gains are very impressive for just adding a slightly larger TB. Installation wasn't difficult at all. This paired with an aftermarket CAI is a nice boost in power. I also chose to leave the stock tune for now and no CEL so far.

    BBK 90mm TB for Mustang Gt

    Throttle body made a big difference in throttle response. Can definitely tell the difference. Only issue I had was no good instructions on the ECM relearning process. Had to find this on Internet. BBK instructions just took you to their page and not to actual video or instructions. On new GT's you have to let the car warm up to idle and then drive it 10-15 miles "NORMALLY" for the ECM to relearn. Once I did that all was fine!
