More Power and Torque. BBK designed this Shorty X-pipe with high-flow catalytic converters to provide a significant increase in horsepower and torque over the restrictive stock catted pipes. Increases of 14 to 22 RWHP have been seen when installed in conjunction with BBK Long Tube Headers.

Race Car Growl. This free flowing BBK x-pipe not only increases power, but it also adds a crisp raspy, race car growl to the sound of your exhaust with its modern "X" crossover pipe design.

Durable Construction. BBK's X-pipes use a free-flowing 2-1/2" diameter CNC mandrel bent aluminized tubing and a merged X crossover to improve flow. And features High flow catalytic converters to provide a significant horsepower increase over the restrictive stock cats.

        Nice X's

Had my mechanic install these last week and couldn't be happier! Bolted right up to the new long tube headers. Replaced oxygen sensors at the same time and now my ride smells much better, runs better and the CEL doesn't light up. Had equal length shorties with H pipe before and the new exhaust note is cool! Old system very low tone, this one sounds like a rushing wind.

        5 1991 GT - Rick

        BBK Catted X-Pipe

I don't smell anymore!!! On my convertible foxbody I originally had a BBK H-pipe without cats and could not take the smell anymore. My clothes always smelled like exhaust. This X-pipe with cats fixed the problem. Also, I called BBK and asked the what I should do with the air hose since I don't have the smog pump connected and they said to plug it, weld it, or close it some way and it will not damage the cats. Apparently, they are made of some type of material (can't remember what he said) that doesn't need the extra air. My mods to the engine performance wise are cam, 70mm TB, CAI, intake manifold, LT headers, X pipe with cats, Flowmasters.

5 1992 GT - Frestyltmf Installation Time: Afternoon

        Pleasantly Pleased

I have a 331 w/ 185 AFR heads, Kenne Bell SC, bbk long tube headers and a flowmaster 50 series delta flow cat back. Previously, I used the bbk off road x pipe for three years and enjoyed it very much, however the car was very loud, raspy, and droning. I purchased and installed the bbk high flow cat x pipe about a week ago. Extremely happy!! Aside from finally getting the AWESOME, yet not offensive, tone I have been searching for, the cats have clearly improved the drivability and overall manners of the car. I couldn't be happier! My wide band o2 sensor is even reading more steadily and reliably, making tuning easier. I would like to also add that after speaking with BBK, I learned that BBK's cats use the metallic media as opposed to the ceramic and can be used without an air injection pump if desired. Best of luck with your project!

      2 Top Rated Questions

Do the cats in this product have a metallic substrate?

Does this x pipe come with o2 sensors holes

      • For 1979-1993 Fox Bodies, they only have one O2 down flow. The BBK Catted X-Pipe (79-93 5.0L w/ Long Tube Headers) has it's down-flow located in between both of the catalytic converters.
