      If you want one of the most popular shorty headers available for your 2005 to 2010 four-liter V6 that also just so happens to be carb legal, well, then you should consider going with the BBK 1-5/8th-inch options that we're looking at here today. Now, the BBK shortys will utilize mild steel for the material but will be finished in the ceramic coating that you're looking at for right around 400 bucks. Now, unfortunately, the install here will not be a lot of fun. So, therefore, the site is gonna call this a very strong two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, and at least a day or so to get everything in place.All right, guys. So, first things first, yes, ultimately long tubes will deliver the biggest gains in regards to both power and sound. However, not everyone can always get down on the party, whether it be a carb issue, or maybe something similar. Now, because of that, shortys are going to be the next best option when looking to replace those restrictive cast-iron factory manifolds in the search of a little bit more power and again, a little bit more sound, both of which, by the way, have been confirmed by the countless positive reviews here on the product page. So again, feel free to read up on those if you haven't already done so. Now, BBK did go with the mandrel bent 1-5/8th-inch primary or diameter here for the primary, which is going to be the most popular size amongst other header options currently available here on the site for your four-liter. Now, the flange at the head, guys, will be laser cut CNCed, of course, 3/8th-inch steel, while the flange at the mid-pipe connection here will be a two-bolt ball and socket style, allowing these guys to be used with your factory mid-pipe or even a few aftermarket mid-pipes that utilize that factory-style connection.Now materials, admittedly, aren't the best here with that mild steel. But BBK does offer the ceramic coating here which will not only help prevent any corrosion on the surface of the headers themselves, but will also help as a barrier against heat, dropping the under-hood temps ever so slightly when compared to a chrome or polished option, both of which, by the way, can be found here on the site if you're looking to save a little bit more money.Finally, guys, BBK does toss in all of the necessary gaskets and hardware needed to get everything in place. Now, just a heads up here, guys, the BBK shortys can be used either with or without a custom tune and will deliver smaller power gains overall, around 5 to 10 wheel or so, depending on your setup and of course, that tune. Now, a big change in sound, however, will be extremely noticeable, especially for you owners out there running an aftermarket mid-pipe or even a cat-back. But maybe the most important thing to point out here, guys, is again the fact that these are 100% legal and carb certified, which is not always the case in the land of aftermarket exhaust modification.But what do you say we briefly graze over the install? And again, the site is gonna go strong two out of three wrenches here on the difficulty meter. Not quite in the three territory. We usually reserve that for long tubes. But figure at least a day or so to get everything knocked out. Now, the big issue here for most owners or some owners, I should say, will be dealing with a few rusty bolts. So, just make sure you have plenty of your favorite penetrating oil on hand, PB B'laster, WD-40, something like that, before getting started along with some heat as a last resort, torch, you know the deal.
