- How to Install Wheels on Your 1979-2013 Mustang
Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m taking a closer look at our 2010 GT Premium style wheels, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs, available in your choice of either chrome, or black. The 2010 GT Premium was loaded with features that weren’t available on the standard GT at that time, these larger diameter stylish 5 spoke wheels were one of those features. Our lightweight aluminum GT Premium wheels are offered in either an 18 or 19” diameter, and in your choice of either a triple dipped chrome finish, or a black finish. Taking a tour around the shop here, you can see we have the 19” GT Premium’s in black installed on our 2013 up front, also sporting the Premium’s in black is our 2011 GT back there on the lift, finally, our 2005 V6 on the Dyno is sporting the 18” version in chrome. In addition to the different diameter options, the Premiums are also offered in a few different widths, this does give you the option of running the tried and true staggered fitment, by sticking the wider wheel and tire in the rear. Or on the other hand, if you value the ability to rotate your wheel and tires in future, then just stick the same size wheel and tire on all 4 corners, otherwise known as the standard fitment, it’s totally up to you. To make life a little easier we have assembled a few pre built tire and wheel combos, pairing your GT Premiums up with some of the top tires on the market today. By going with one of our combos, we’re not only going to mount, balance, and ship them to you absolutely free, but we’re also going to guarantee proper fitment on your Mustang without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. The best part is, every AmericanMuscle wheel is backed by a lifetime structural warranty, and a 1 year warranty on all finishes. Installing a new set of wheels and tires is an easy task that can easily be done with the use of some basic hand tools and a floor jack, all you need to do is simply make sure the car is on level ground first, then crack those lugs loose before you get the car in the air. Once you jack the car up, simply swap out all 4 wheels and tires, and that’s it, getting all this done should only take you about an hour in the driveway. Our 2010 GT Premium style wheels are a great way to add some clean OE styling to your 05 or newer Mustang, and as always you can find them right here at AmericanMuscle.com

Mounting & Balancing: AmericanMuscle offers professional mounting and balancing on all wheels and tires when purchased together on the same order. This will allow you to swap out your old wheels for your new set when they arrive.
What is TPMS? The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS for short) is a factory installed safety feature on all 2007 and newer Ford Mustangs that alerts you when your tire pressure drops to an unsafe limit.
How do I keep my TPMS feature? Aftermarket wheels do not come with TPMS sensors. However, if you select 'Add TPMS Sensor Kit' and your specific year range from the options listed above, we'll install the TPMS Sensors in your new wheels!

Did what I could to come close for stock appearance. The wider wheel gives it a better rear stance, plus better on handling on corners.Helpful (9)

these rims are really nice and clean looking. they are on my 2007 and I put spacers on the rear end and it makes them pop just a little more. Suggest keeping some extra lugs because they have deep insides and sometimes auto shops don't put them on tight enough.Helpful (9)

Ordered these for my 2008 GT. I got 19x10's for the rear and 18's on the front. The front rims have deep lug wells and I have replaced my stock lug nuts with extended ones.Helpful (10)

I bought this set of two wheels for my front end to match the existing rear same rims. I love the look of the shinny black on my Sterling Silver/Gray Gt...I have to say I received one of the rims with a 2-3mm chip on it as it looks like a transit issue AM has to make it a point for the carrier they are using to be more careful handling their products. Is very small chip and you can't see it unless you know is there but still it shouldnt be there.Helpful (9)

Can't Beat the Price
I've gotten more compliments on these wheels that any other addon. I've put 10,000 miles on these tires already and have been very happy with the wear. The rims fit great and have had no clearance issues. A little rougher ride, but that is to be expected with a wider tire, but the handling is greatly improved. Handling in the rain is SO much better than the stock 16" BF Goodrich tires I had. Only issue I had was that one of the wheel weights fell off when the wheels were still in the house, lucky I saw them fall and put the back on in the same spot. Best investment I've made so far.Helpful (9)

Black GT Sumitomo Tires
Great look, and great fit. Installation is simple, although be forewarned you need deep well, narrow walled sockets in order to tighten the lugs. Overall very happy with the look and handling these tires gave me over stock.Helpful (11)
Are these more of gloss or matte?
These GT Premium Wheels come prepared in a gloss black finish.
Can I use my factory Sensors with these wheels?
Yes, the wheels would allow you to retain your factory sensors.
What size tire would best fit these wheels?
We would recommend a 255/45/18.
I need a one wheel 18 x 10 in black style
Unfortunately, the 2010 GT Premium Style Black Wheel is only available in 18x9.
WILL MY STOCK TRI BAR CENTER CAPS FIT THESE WHEELS?
The 2010 GT Premium Style Black Wheel, Would not work with the stock center cap as these wheels require a deeper fitting center cap.
A 235/50 would certainly mount onto the wheel, however, it will stretch the sidewalls of the tires, which can be hazardous. We would highly recommend using a recommended 255/45 series tire for this wheel.
To answer all your questions In a nut shell - no issues! You can run an 18x9 front with 19x10 rear setup without damaging anything. The TPMS sensors work on all size wheels/tires so you won't run into any issues with that either. If you want help setting up an order, don't hesitate to give us a buzz. We'd be glad to help you out!
Unfortunately, this wheel excludes the GT500 in regards to fitment due to clearance issues on the brakes. Similarly, these wouldn't work combined any aftermarket big brake kits.
Simple installation for anyone.
