I own a 2012 Shelby GT500. Will this exhaust match up with the factory H pipe if I wanted to keep it in place or would I have to use the supplied X pipe?

    • We would recommend using the supplied x-pipe as that is guaranteed to fit. The factory mid-pipe may require modifications.

Does this exhaust drone at all? And is the interior noes overbearing?

    • Borla does a great job of eliminating drone from their exhausts. Although you will definitely hear some noise in the cabin to most it isn't overbearing, although exhaust loudness is 100% subjective.

Does this setup come with resonators for optional use or is there no resonators at all?

    • This exhaust will come with resonators as you can see pictured in the product photo for optimal use.

      The perfect exhaust note

Put this on my 2012 Super Snake with 7/8 headers and holy cow! When you jump on the gas this thing screams! It quiet enough in the cabin but if you are driving behind it you might as well get new ears. This is a must if you have a GT500

      Review from Borla 3 in. Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (11-14 GT; 11-12 GT500)

      Love it!

Great sound. It's loud and mean when you want it, but also quiet at lower RPM so it's not droning on and on at highway speeds. Looks great and is high in quality.

      Review from Borla 3 in. Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Black Tips (11-14 GT; 11-12 GT500)

      Meanest Growl you could imagine

Borla has outdone themselves once again. The sounds is amazingly mean and throaty. So much better than any x pype, roush, or flowmaster you can buy. I also like the 3" portion and true x pipe, which gives you very little back pressure so your 5.0 can shine. I would recommend this exhaust to anyone that wants great sound, good power upgrade, and amazing back pressure drops.

      Awesome sweet sound.

Well, I researched what exhaust to buy for several months to be able to make the right decision, because I see it more of an investment because of the expense. Based on quality and finish I had two brands to pick from, Bassani and Borla. I had known that both were famous for quality of workmanship. I had heard Borla before but not on a Mustang. I had never heard Bassani before on anything so I decided to wait and finally about a week ago I saw a very well made video on youtube and the guy put Bassani and a Borla on his Mustang. Copy and paste if you are interested to see it (Bassani Axle-Backs vs. Borla ATAK Axle-Backs). The quality of sound of the video was good enough and he used the same protocol for both (apples to apples). I am not saying that Bassani is bad so please don't misinterpret me. I think that both sounded great but I found the Borla to be more aggressive and with a deeper sweeter sound more to my taste and boy I tell you I have no regrets. Quality of materials is really first class and it sounds amazing, super loud when you need it to be and perfect when you don't. Heads up, I am already wasting a lot more gas just running lower gears constantly just to hear the awesome deep sweet rumble. I paid a shop to do the install and the passenger nozzle is touching the rear valance so I am going to take it back to get it straighten out but that was the installer's fault. I also have to say that this is the first time I ordered from American Muscle and I am extremely impressed with the service and super fast free delivery, I couldn't believe it. I ordered an MGW shifter from another company a month earlier and I got it a day after I got the exhaust. An hour after I ordered the exhaust I got an email saying the item had been shipped and two days later I got it. Amazing for such a heavy item. Thanks American Muscle, you surely have a new satisfied customer here.

      Great tone, overrated volume

If you've read anything about the atak system on the forums, you would swear that hearing them would make your ears bleed. That is really not the case. They are definitely louder than stock, but not offensively so. I really wish they were louder, but I'm satisfied with how much sound they produce. They idle at about the same volume as stock and don't exceed stock decibels too much until about 2.5k. They scream pretty well after that, but they aren't gonna set off any car alarms. The tone is incredible. It's a nice growl with a great burbly decel. American muscle was very timely with shipping. Ordered it on a Sunday and it was here by Friday. Unfortunately, the passeng er side muffler had a ding about 4 inches back from the tip. The tips don't stick out far enough for it to be noticeable, however. Still, this is the most expensive catback offered, so that was kind of disappointing. install was very straightforward, with only a couple of headaches. Took about 3 hours on a lift. All in all a great product, but a touch over priced. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with something that deleted the cats and made a bit more sound

      Borla 3" Catback exhaust

I have been searching for exhaust systems for months now and could not decide which one to go with. After making up my mind I decided to go with the Borla Catbacks and I could not be more satisfied with my purchase. The sound is amazing and loud, and always puts a smile to my face when I turn my car on. Yes, it's a little pricey but trust me, it's worth every penny.

This exhaust is exactly what I wanted for my vehicle. With my performance mods and tuner it's what the car needed. Loud when you want it, quiet when your cruising around of on highway.

Amazing tone when you want it...

I've had this exhaust for about a year now and I have to say it's definitely my favorite mod. It's loud... really loud! At cold start, you might have some angry neighbors, but it mellows out after about 30 seconds. It has a deep rumble with an almost exotic tone when your accelerating. It sounds so nice between 2000 and 3000 rpms. And at WOT it roars! Deep, loud, rumbling in your seat fun... And the best part, it's only a notch or two above stock when you're in 6th on the highway. I'd definitely reccomend this or the S-Type Borla exhaust to any late model mustang owner. Amazing quality, craftsmanship, and durability.

      Long install, but worth it

I put this on my 2011 Mustang GS/CS. It took longer than expected but it was wealth worth the time and money. Sounds mean
