windshield fluid dispenser Does this Cervini Ram Air Hood have an outlet for the windshield fluid. My stock one has the fluid coming out of the top of the hood. How is that rerouted?

    • the hood comes with a relocation kit and you will need to drill about 1/4" holes into the black plastic at the bottom of your windshield for the new sprayers.

What about the rain? Since I have an aftermarket CAI, and won't be able to install the Function Ram Air Kit for this hood, what would happen when it rains? Wouldn't the water just go through the slots and soak the engine bay? Or does the hood blow the air over the top so as to prevent the rain from shooting through the vents? Thanks.

    • I drove without the functional kit for a few months and never had a problem. While yes, a little water does come in, it isn't a problem, especially with rain. The only thing to keep in mind water wise is washing it, as you do run a chance of rinsing a little soap in there. But, that said, unless you wash with a fire hose, you don't have enough water coming in to worry about soaking much more than would come in through your grille anyhow. If you are worried though, you could always just fit a black metal piece behind the grill just to seal the vent. That said, again, the water is very minimal, unless you actually spray it directly with a hose, and even then, its nothing to worry about.

Hi, some customer photos show mesh inserts in the scoops while others don't. Are the inserts an added option? Can I purchase just the inserts?

    • The Cervini's Ram Air Hood does not include the screens shown in some of the customer images. These are available for purchase through Cervini's directly.

increased clearance for strut bar? I have a 08 GT with a FR Whipple blower. I want to install a Steeda strut bar, as they make one that will clear my blower. The issue is the strut bar will hit my stock GT hood. Will this hood increase clearance to work with a strut bar / blower combo? 1 answer

      Ram air hood

I needed to replace my hood after an unfortunate accident. My mechanic talked me into getting a ram air hood. Before ordering I called Cervini and was told that the vents came blocked but the vents could be opened to make them functional. The hood arrived with the vents not only wide open but when I called back I was told that there is nothing available from Cervini to cover the openings. My mechanic and I got creative to fabricate a cover so rain or dirt would not enter the engine bay. The good news is that the hood fits well but is heavier than stock so you will need stronger hood lifts. Be prepared that the hump is much higher than the stock hood and may distract your vision until you get used to it. Also makes it harder to park nose-in as you can’t tell where the hood ends. I have mixed feelings and sometimes wish I chose the stock hood.

      Looks great

Since a deer jumped in my way and the factory hood was not fixable this was a nice upgrade. Looks great, fits great and there is a slight improvement on performance. I did not get the ram air kit as I already have a CAI and would not be a noticeable improvement for the dollars. The body shop did have to do some sanding but that is to be expected. Also got a black billet grille and a chin spoiler. Just by looks alone this was worth every penny spent!

      Thumbs Up...

I replaced the stock hood with this Cervini's Ram Air hood during and insurance claim on the original hood. My body shop was impressed with the "high quality" hood, as the prepping, painting, and fitting of the hood was quite easy for them. The windshield spray nozzles are included and have done an adequate job replacing the stock nozzles.

      Amazing Hood

I own a blue 2006 v6 Mustang Pony Package. I installed the hood along with the California Special front fascia and a GT style grill. My body shop was IMPRESSED. Not just with how stunning the car itself turned out, but with the quality of the hood itself. Most fiberglass parts are difficult to work with and need a lot of prep, which translates into more shop time and expense. Like most of the reviews state here, this hood is the exception. Besides a short prebake and fitting, the hood just needed some minor touchup and was ready to paint. I cannot stress enough how high quality the part was. Out of the box, it looked almost like it could be bolted straight onto a white car, no problem. The shop guys said over and over that it needed to go to shows and was one of the best looking hoods they had ever seen and worked on. A few points here to consider. Hood pins aren't necessary, so from my usage, no need to worry about wind catching it. Being a ram air, it has 2 very large gaps in the hood. I haven't put in the functional part yet, but it does help push air over my engine to cool it, so it does run just a little better. No problems with water and heavy rain, so no need to worry about drowning the engine, unless of course you are washing the car and directly spray into the holes. One more technical note, the hood does have a little spot for washer nozzles on the underside. (basically 2 little bumps big enough for a small bolt to hold the sprayer.) I am not sure if the wiper squirter kit really is a must, because the stock set MIGHT be able to relocate here on its own. (like I said, just a thought, mine has the aftermarket kit, which is a thin little bar, so they hide better and look kinda cool.) That's how my shop did it at least and its just different. Its not a big deal, just a possible way to save a few bucks and stay stock. It is an aggressive hood and it does draw a LOT of attention. That said, it isn't over the top, and everyone that's seen it says its perfect. (Good fit for body lines, not too much, and such.) As far as seeing over it, if you don't mind a few inches of extra raise, its just fine. That said, I am 6'3, but my other shorter family says that, after a little while of getting used to it, its not too high. Just keep that in mind if seeing over is tough as is. I would absolutely buy this product again, especially with the California Special front. It is PERFECT. And as always, American muscle ships fast and is a great help!

      go to a good shop...

so i had it shop installed since i also bought stealth hood pins and hood struts, and i needed it color matched obviously. I bought this with the matching cervini ram air kit. i get the hood back from the shop 2 WEEKS LATER (while i was paying daily for a rental car) with less than happy results. it looked nice aesthetically (and i had them paint the grille shiny silver) but they claimed the ram air kit didnt fit right, but they hadnt bothered to mill it or anything, and i returned it about 3 times and they still didnt do jack. Honestly, i love the hood, and it looks great, just bring it to a place you KNOW will do good work. I thought these guys did, but apparently i was wrong.

Ovrall good quality, fit and good looks

The product was shipped right to my body shop with explicit instructions that the shop thought were over-the-top. I called Cervini's and learned about the process and once the shop was on board, the hood turned out fantastic. The shop did a great job of preping and painting - all their tech's were commenting about the qulaity of the hood.

      Amazing Hood!

This hood is just plain out GREAT! I put it onto my V6 '08 Stang to give it a more sporty look along with the Magnaflows dual exhaust. Everywhere I go I turn heads. People ask me how much my GT cost me and are extremly suprised when I say it's a V6. This item will give your Stang the aggressive, intimidating, and powerful look everyone loves to see. I definately recommend this product and would but it over and over again! Great job AM and Cervini models!

      Great hood!

The hood fit as well as an OEM hood and the aggressive styling really makes it stand out, I considered less aggressive ram air hoods but I am glad I went with this one. I recommend this hood over any other ram air hood based on style and fit . If not using the ram air kit you should be careful about driving in wet conditions as there is not a drip pan or anything to keep water from reaching the engine compartment.

Great quality hood-fit and finish is excellent

Decided to replace my stock hood with this one after it started getting the dreaded paint bubbling/corrosion that's common on these cars. The hood looks amazing, especially with painted on stripes. The quality is excellent, and the body shop that did the paint and install said it was one of the best fitting hoods they had seen, particularly since it's fiberglass, which sometimes needs some cutting for fitment. Not this one, though, it fit like a glove. Very high quality product from Cervini.
