Hey, guys. It's Sara with americanmuscle.com. And today, we have a review and install of the V3R Rear Diffuser, fitting your '15 and newer Dodge Challenger. This is for the Challenger owner who wants a more aggressive direct replacement for their factory diffuser. This diffuser features a race-inspired design with more pronounced cutouts. It features a durable and lightweight polypropylene construction with a factory-style finish that you can leave as is or paint to match. So, as far as price goes, this option comes in at around $600 which is middle of the road price-wise when compared to other diffusers. And for your money, you are getting a direct replacement with some aftermarket styling. And as far as the install goes, I'm giving this one a two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does clip up to your bumper, but it will require some drilling to install the pop clips underneath. All in all, it can be done within two hours, so let's jump into our install. For this install, you will need an impact gun or a ratchet will work just fine. You'll also need a 10-millimeter socket or a flat-head screwdriver. You'll need a pair of cutters, pop clip removal tool, trim panel removal tool, a paint marker or sharpie, a measuring tape, a deburring tool or a file will work just fine, a set of drill bits, and a drill. All right, so we do have our Challenger on a lift here to give you guys a better view at what we're working on. You do not need a lift for this install, so let's get into our first step. You'll need a 10-millimeter socket or a flat-head screwdriver to remove the bolts for your license plate. Go ahead and remove both of the bolts, and remove your license plate. Now, we are moving to our wheel well real quick, we need to remove two of these bottom pop clips that attach to our diffuser. Grab a pop clip removal tool and let's get these out. Now, because of the style of these clips, you may damage them when you're removing them. And you can pry from the front, and if that is not working for you, you can go behind in between this mud flap and the diffuser and use it to help you pry.And as long as the clip is out of your diffuser, you can leave the pop clip in here. All right, now once you have the pop clips out on this side, repeat that step to remove the pop clips on the other side. Now that that is done, we're gonna start with the pop clips on the bottom here and work our way around the diffuser. Keep moving to remove the rest of the pop clips on the bottom of your diffuser. All right, so there is one more thing that's holding on the corner of our diffuser, it's a plastic rivet. Now, plastic rivets are not able to be removed in one piece, so we will have to pry or cut this, and we will be replacing it later. So, what you're gonna do is pry at the front here or even go to the backside and snip it with a pair of cutters. All right, once you've snipped a bit off the backside, you should be able to come in with a flat-head screwdriver or a pry tool and pry off the front. And now they're no longer attached. All right, so at this point, now that we have that rivet out of the side, repeat that process on the other side. And then what we're gonna do is begin to remove the diffuser itself. Now, it does have push clips all along the top here, so you're gonna release all of those by pulling backwards.Continue to pry around the bottom of your bumper. Now, if one of your clips gets hung up, you can use a pop clip removal tool or trim tool and what you're gonna do is put it in between here and just twist to sort of help release the clip. Keep moving along and when you see these clips, repeat that process to pry down or twist. And if you're worried about your paint, you can use a bit of painters tape there. Now, we're working our way along the other side so we can meet in the middle. All right, now our valence is released, and we can unplug our sensors. What we're gonna do is pry back with a flat-head or your pop of tool on the red tab. And once that's released, you can press down on the black tab and remove the sensor. Repeat that with the rest of your sensors. All right, once all the sensors are released, remove the diffuser. Now, to remove these reflectors so that we can install them in our new diffuser, you need a 10-millimeter socket, we're gonna start by removing this plastic nut. Using your 10-mil, go ahead and get it removed. Now, for the other side, there was a tab right here. So, push in on the tab and you can use a trim tool to help you with this and just twist to remove. Repeat that on the other side. All right. Now that we have our factory diffuser uninstalled from our Challenger, we can check it out side-by-side with our new diffuser here. Now, as you can see, it features a much more aggressive style to it when compared to the very flat diffuser of your factory bumper. Now, out of the box, this is a rear sensor delete, meaning it's a flat piece, it does not have holes for your backup sensors if your Challenger has them. Now, it is possible to retrofit a set on there by drilling holes and mounting them up yourself. But we will not be doing that today, we're gonna install it as is. So, with that said, let's finish up our install. All right, so at this point, in order to mount up our reflectors, what we're gonna do is drill two holes in the bumper. We're gonna start with a smaller hole towards the outside. Now, they did make a dimple in the diffuser there for you. So, go ahead and line up the drill bit. Go ahead and drill the hole in your diffuser. Repeat that on the other side. All right, so this next hole is a little bit different because it's sort of oddly shaped, it's an oval. What we're gonna do is we're going to drill two to three holes and then if we need to open it up more, you can always do that afterwards. We have our drill bit here, we're gonna drill a hole sort of on the far side, and then drill one to two more holes until it matches that oblong shape. So then you'll see we have enough space for another hole right on the other side. So, we're gonna drill a second one towards the other end and then join them. Now we can clean up the hole to make sure it matches that oval shape. So, now what we can do to clean this up, you can use your drill bit, you can use a file, we have a deburring tool here, we're just gonna use this for speed. You definitely don't need this, but it will make it go quite a bit faster. Now, we can repeat that on the other side. Now, once you have the hole opened up in your diffuser, go ahead and grab your deburring tool or just a regular file, and we're gonna clean this up.Once your holes are drilled in locations that you like them, go ahead and line up your piece, and press it into place. Grab the factory plastic nut and go ahead and begin to thread it on. With your 10-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten this down. If you are using a power tool like we are, just make sure you're doing this carefully. Now, you can repeat that on the other side. Install your plastic nut, and then with your 10-millimeter socket, tighten it down. All right, at this point, we do have to drill several holes in order to reinstall our pop clips at the bottom of the diffuser. What we're gonna do is use our old diffuser to mark where we need to drill on the new one. All right, so at this point, we have the bottom edge of the diffuser lined up with our old one. We have a paint marker here and what we're gonna do is mark the center of this hole, where we're gonna drill our holes for our pop clips. Line up your other corner, make your mark, and repeat that for your center one as well. Now, we're lining up the corner of the edge of our diffuser to mark the hole on the outside. Again, we're using a paint marker for this. Line up your other corner and make your mark. All right, so we do have to measure for a few more holes on the edge of the diffuser where it lines up to the pop clips on our factory mud flap. Now, another method for measuring and marking your holes is to use a measuring tape, and we've already measured our factory diffuser, so we're gonna mark this diffuser now. Now, you can drill your hole through the spot that you marked. Repeat that on the other side. Now, repeat that for all the mounting points you previously marked on the rest of the diffuser. All right. Now we can install this on the car. We're gonna start by lining up all the mounting tabs, and I'm starting in the center and then working my way off the sides. Line them up and press it into place. Now, we can reinstall the factory pop clips. Repeat that with the rest of your pop clips. Now, you can reinstall the pop clips at the wheel well. And repeat that on the other side. Now, you can replace your license plate. Go ahead and reinstall your screws, and with your flat-head or 10-millimeter socket, tighten them down. All right. So, that is gonna do it for the review and install this rear diffuser. And remember, for all things Challenger, keep it at americanmuscle.com.
