    Torsen T-2 Differential. Does your factory rear end just leave you spinning your wheels? Then upgrade to a Ford Racing T-2 "Torsen" Differential from AmericanMuscle. A Limited Slip Torsen Traction Differential uses a worm gear friction system that ensure your engine's power is transferred to the wheels with maximum traction for improved handling.

    Application. This Ford Racing T-2 Torsen 8.8" Differential will fit both solid axle and independent rear suspensions (IRS) equipped V8 Mustangs from 1986 to 2014 and 2011 to 2014 V6 Mustangs. Requires 31 spline axles.Application Note: 1986-2004 V8 Mustangs came factory equipped with 28 spline axles, except for 2003-2004 SVT Cobras which were 31 spline. All 2005 and newer V8 Mustangs come equipped with 31 spline axles.

    Specifications:

    • Requires 4 ounces of CM-19546-A1 friction modifier with initial fill

    Technical Note. You will need to reuse your factory 8.8” gear set, or upgrade to a new set of our 8.8" rear gears for this Limited Slip Differential. No aftermarket gears are included. For normal driving conditions we recommend you use 75W 90 rear gear oil. This will give you the same oil weight as factory. For colder temps or race use try 75w 140.

    Is this usable on a stock 2013 mustang gt? Also what is the difference between this one and the $230 ford racing one w/ Carbon DISCS? Do I need Carbon DISCS?

    • The Ford Performance T-2 Torsen Differential can be installed on a stock Mustang but will require some other upgrades as well. This differential is meant to be stronger and handle a lot more power than the factory differential can, which means putting more power to the ground. This differential also requires 31 spline axles,1986-2004 V8 Mustangs came factory equipped with 28 spline axles, except for 2003-2004 SVT Cobras which were 31 spline. All 2005 and newer V8 Mustangs come equipped with 31 spline axles. You will need to reuse your factory 8.8” gear set, or upgrade to a new set of our 8.8" rear gears(http://www.americanmuscle.com/rearend.html) for this Limited Slip Differential. No aftermarket gears are included. For normal driving conditions we recommend you use 75W 90 rear gear oil. This will give you the same oil weight as factory. For colder temps or race use try 75w 140. As far as differences between the two this is an all around stronger differential meant more for racing, the Ford Performance Traction - LOK Limited Slip Differential w/ Carbon Discs is more for the enthusiast looking to put more power to the ground and have a more responsive limited slip than the factory setup.

    will this work with all of the stock bearings in a 2014 mustang v6

    • We highly suggest to get a new set of bearings with the installation of any new differential for your Mustang to ensure proper fitment and, most importantly, functionality.

      Smooth as butter

      Paired it with ford Racing rear gear, 3.73. They work just fine and smooth. Still in the break in period, though.

      Omg

      This differential changed my car along with the 3.73 gears. It's like driving a new animal. Took the vibration out of my rear end it's just butter smooth. Money well spent.

      GT Performance Package

      I enjoy the performance of this rear end. I have it on a 1989 fox with a 345 HP gt40x crate engine. Under heavy acceleration the rear end really hunts for traction and in a curve if you break traction it's self corrects nicely and wants to straighten the car. It's also cool to have a t2 with 3.73s in your 89 5.0, it's just like a 2017 with the gt performance package.

      words cannot explain

      install and price took awhile (shop) but more than worth it. if your an adrenaline junkie this is for you. i feel a smooth powerful application pf power when i up or downshift around s curves with no hesitation. a must have! (installed with aluminum driveshaft 3.73 gears torsen and 31 spline axles)

      Night and day diffrence

      I recently installed this when i over hauled my rear end. Instal was easy and it makes a world of a difference. It should hold my goal power wise with no worries! Amazing part! highly recommend

      Best modification to date

      I installed the Torsen T2 in my 2011 GT350. I track the car 4 to 5 times a year and was looking for improved track performance. To my surprise, the street performance was also vastly improved. The car in now smoother and quieter. My car has 610 rwhp, and smooth application of power was an issue with the stock differential. The Torsen has greatly improved traction, even at WOT. I could not be happier.
