    Street/Strip Performance. This Ford Racing cam is a great replacement choice for increasing your pony's torque and horsepower up to 6200 RPM, and it has a fair idle.

    Application. The Ford Racing X303 Performance Camshaft is designed for use in the 1985-1995 5.0L V8 Mustangs with 1.60 rockers.

    Technical Notes. Ford Racing recommends the use of a Hi-Stall torque converter for Mustangs equipped with automatic transmissions. Valve clearance should be checked, as it may require piston modification for piston-to-valve clearance.

        I have a stock block with gt40x heads,ford racing rocker arms, ford racing hardened pushrods. My question is will I have to worry about valve clearance if I install this cam. I’m currently running a f303 cam now with no issues.

        • Using the Ford Performance X303 Performance Camshaft with stock pistons, and GT40x heads we do recommend checking piston to valve clearance with the X303 cam.

        I am building a 331 stroker. I have Trcikflow highport 64cc heads with 192cc runners will this cam work with this set up and if so what is the injector size?

        • The Ford Performance X303 Performance Camshaft will work with your 331 stroker and Trickflow High Ports, however it will not be ideal. A cam such as the Comp Cams Stage 4 Xtreme Energy XE274HR Camshaft would be more beneficial for your setup with its split duration. Injector size will vary based on the rest of your setup, but will typically be between a 24lb/hr or 30 lb/hr.

        I have a 88 GT with 89 engine.i was told by the seller that it had a stock lower end and cast victor senior heads. Idle brac intake and 65 millimeter throttlebody with 24 lb injectors.I am looking for good strong cam that will come in from 1500 and be strong pulling up to 6000.The heads have 202 with 160 valves.What would recommend.Thank’s

        • The Ford Performance X303 Performance Camshaft may not be the best cam for your setup, however we would need more information, such as the cylinder head part number to determine intake and exhaust runner volume, combustion chamber size, etc. We would also need to know the specific intake manifold, and if the car is automatic or manual, and if automatic, the stall speed of your torque converter.         I have a 331 ci stoker with flat top pistons. the valve cutouts are much deeper than stock I have pro comp heads with 190 cc runners and 64 cc chambers. This mustang is for track use only. Will the X 303 give me 40-50 extra HP or do you recommend a different cam? I currently have a E303 cam in it. I am using a C6 transmission and 4.30 gears.

            I am rebuilding my 302 and decided to go with the X303 cam. Since I am still puttingt he engine together I don't know how much power gain I have yet. I can't wait to fire it up and see hows he does.

            X303 is a great value

            a good performance cam with a fairly lopey idle, even with the stock efi eecIV. makes about 15inches of vacuum at idle. may require IAC plate to help adjust idle. great sounding cam with a lot of topend power. don't forget to install new lifters with the correct length pushrods.

            Pretty good for the money.

            The cam is calm and streetable until 4000 RPM and then its like a supercharger kicks in. Just wish some of the power could be harnest a bit earlier.

            Nice but just when you have the right set up

            I have a 351w and it is a roller cam ... the only way to do is to make to swap of the flat tappet lifter to the roller lifter (need the lifter the spyder and the holder of a 302). If you are looking for this cam be sure to have a realy mod engine (more than 400 hp)
