Will these springs work on 2006 gt ragtop? I know the ragtop is much heavier than your standard gt coupe. Thanks.

    • The Ford Performance 2013 Cobra Jet Drag Spring Kit would be meant for the coupe models, however, will work on the convertible. But the effects will be different as the weight is different.

Does it lower the car? Do these springs lower the car? and if so, how many inches does it drop from the front and back?

    • Yes. I just got these and put them on my stock 13 GT. They lower the front 1.75 inches and the rear 1 inch.

Which shocks and struts do you recommend with these springs?

    • The shock and strut combination I would choose to pair with these springs would be the Ford Performance adjustable shock and strut kit which is item #50404 and can be found in the link below. http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-shockstrut-0510gt.html

Will long tube headers clearance be an issue with these?

    • There should be no clearance issues installing these with long tube headers.

Could I replace only the front springs with cobra jets and keep my stock ones in the rear for a killer rake?? Would that cause any issues as far as drivability or when drag racing?

    • The stock springs could be retained in the rear, however this will give less than ideal performance on the street and the strip.

      PERFECT STANCE HANDLING

Had these springs installed last week and WOW what a difference in stance, The car now looks like it is supposed to. Ready for the hunt. The ride has improved considerably, quicker response on launches and a firmer ride ( not harsher ) which gives me more control. A minimal investment for a lot more performance. Mark L Naples, Fl.

CJ Spring Kit but on a Ragtop

Took a chance hoping this kit would work on a ragtop as well as the standard GT as the suspension pieces are basically identical. No issues with fitment what so ever. I had additional supports to remove to get the housing to drop down far enough in the ragtop, but otherwise pretty straight forward install. The springs definitely allow for a 28x10 to fit comfortably inside the wheel wells. Be aware the front springs will cause the front of the car to be much lower so ground clearance will be a challenge. Not a big deal, just don't want to aim for the big pot hole around town. Ride will be much firmer over the factory springs. Excited to give the new springs a try at our next drag track day.

      Lowering kit

These are awesome Springs I'm using them on a street car that works out great it's a little low in the front but it's got a nice ring to it it handles awesome hundred percent difference from stock if you can handle the ride it's a little stiff but it's my daily driver it takes about 2 hours total time and I highly recommend you get strut bearings mine broke when I took it apart so that's my suggestion

      Classic stance

I was a bit hesitant to install these at first based off of clearance issues and road conditions in my area but I must say it most certainly makes the car have it's old school look. Not only the look but it looks 10x better with the when applied alongside with the Ford Racing shocks and struts. I highly recommend these and it can be done in a few hours if you have the proper tools and knowledge.

      Cobra jet springs.

Good quality springs. The front springs were a little low for me so I’m currently just running the cobra jet rears with the stock front springs. Car sits perfectly level and handles just fine. So I’m happy.

      Good springs overall

Had these installed about a week ago, and I'm very impressed. I put them with factory shocks and struts to try them out. My car had some junk raceland coil overs that didn't work right at all. Definitely hooks 100 better, and the ride is not bad. Will probably do better struts and shocks and strut mounts before too long. Had a shop install(the Ford dealer I work at) due to the great price I got on the install

      Worth every penny

Got these to pair with some nitto drag radials. I had BMR lowering springs and with the radials I was chewing up the fender and tire. These raised the rear end right where I needed to be and helped the car hook way better. Id buy these without a doubt if you’re looking for a nice set of springs

      Great look and better launch

The launch gain is hard to quantify; but about 10 more grip seems reasonable. The best part is better handling balance (less understeer) and the killer rake. It’s very low in front, however...

      Cobra Jet drag springs.

I've had these sitting in my shop now for 4 years now and decided to pull out the SR lowing springs I installed right after I purchased the car new. I never was really a fan of the way the car road with the SR springs but did like the way it sat. I decided to go back and read the reviews of these springs and saw several people commenting on the ride quality so I decided to put them in. The first thing I noticed was the car sat about a half inch lower in the front and the back was a half inch higher then the SR springs. Next was the test ride and that was a big improvement over the SR springs. They have been in for about 4 weeks now and the ride height hasn't changed. Very happy with the swap.
