- How to Install Wheels on Your 1979-2013 Mustang
Hey Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m checking out Forgestar’s F15 monoblock wheels, available in your choice of either matte black, gun metal, piano black, and silver, fitting all 2005 and newer Mustangs. At first glance you can see the design of the F14 Is more of a multispoke mesh wheel design, which has become extremely popular with the Mustang crowd as of late, which is course due to cars such as the RTR and the 2013 GT 500, both of which sport a variation of the mesh wheel design. These monoblock or one piece aluminum wheels go through an advanced process during production called rotary forging, this greatly improves the strength of the wheel, specifically the barrel, and generally reduces the weight of the wheel itself. The F14’s are offered in a wide variety of sizing options including an 18, 19, and 20 inch diameter, and in 9, 10, and 11 inch widths. Because there are a few different width options available, you can easily achieve that classic staggered look, by sticking a wider rear wheel and tire in the back versus the front, which in my opinion is the only way to roll. Chances are if you’re buying new wheels, you’re going to need new tires, we offer a pre built combinations, where we pair your F14’s up with some of the top tires on the market today, in sizes that are guaranteed to fit your car without rubbing, even if you’re lowered an inch or two. Of course you can also take advantage of our free mounting and balancing, free shipping and handling. Finally, all Forgestar wheels are backed by a lifetime structural warranty. When it does come time to install your new wheels just grab a floor jack and some basic hand tools. You’ll want to crack the lugs loose first on the stock wheels before getting the car in the air, after you do that, jack the car up and swap the 4 wheels and tires. Doesn’t get a lot easier than this, but since there is a little work involved, we’ll call it an hour from start to finish. So if you’re looking to take a break from the standard 5 spoke wheel and you want to go with a more modern multispoke mesh wheel design, then be sure to check out these quality lightweight aluminum wheels from Forgestar available right here at AmericanMuscle.com

So much better
I had the stock 18" wheels and upgraded to the Forgestar 19" F14 standards with Mickey Thompson tires. The wheels look great...I'm very happy with my purchase after going back and forth about several styles.Helpful (11)

Amazing Wheel Tire Kit
If you're looking for a good quality wheel, this is it! Purchased about two months ago, and they shine like new. Picked the Mickey Thompson tires, and I couldn't be happier. I had this kit swapped out with my stock set within an hour with basic hand tools in my driveway. Way to go American Muscle!Helpful (11)

Beware of Bolt Pattern Errors! Heavy Wheels
I was pretty disappointed to find that these wheels were extremely heavy. Over 60 lbs per wheel/tire (~20 lbs heavier than stock). Also, when I bolted up the first rear wheel, it felt like the bolt pattern was slightly off. When tried to install the second rear, the bolt pattern was WAY off, It was for a much larger diameter bolt circle. I decided to send the whole set back. Not really the fault of American Muscle, but I think Forgestar has some quality control issues. Also, these wheels are only partially forged. The spokes and hub are cast as evidenced by the sand casting marks on the back of the hub. Also the spokes are extremely thick with no pocketing in the back. I'll attempt to upload a picture of the bolt pattern error.Helpful (11)

First of all I'd like to say, I am a regular American Muscle Customer...and I'd like to say that this wheel purchase has been one of my favorite purchases. The wheel specs that American Muscle and Forgestar put together are "Second to none" as far as fitment, finish and quality.Helpful (10)

Worth the money!
I want to start off by saying that I had accidentally ordered these for my 2013 sterling grey GT. These were and, due to the fact that they fit, currently are my my front wheels. I got these to go along with the same in 19x11 in the rear. I like the fact the the off set for these are just enough to cover the black acorns that I had purchased with the wheels. The gunmetal is a few shades darker than my sterling grey GT, but it seems that ford had gotten rid of this color with the 15's. They come well packaged and to get them installed with TPMS, tires mounted and balanced only cost me $120. I have only seen 2 improfections on my rear 19x11 and you REALLY need to look to find them. Build and paint quality are great. I went 3 weeks without washing the fronts and the break dust had little effect on the shine from the paint. I currently have them wrapped in Hankook evo 2 and the gap is perfect. I would defiantly buy again!Helpful (9)

Love these Wheels
I just installed these on my 2014 Mustang GT. The Gunmetal is a perfect fit with my Ingot Silver car. It's just dark enough for contrast but not too dark. These wheels just look like they were meant to be mounted on a Mustang.Helpful (11)

Great bang for the buck if you want a quality lightweight wheel, much better than most of the offering out there for our cars. Good pricing too!Helpful (9)

Really like the look of the gunmetal F14 wheels on my Ruby red GT. I went with the staggered Mickey Thompson tires and couldn't be happier. It has a Cobra look about it now, just needs some Cobra power. Finish on the wheels are perfect and even with wider rear wheels they are lighter than stock. Shipping was tremendously fast. Definitely recommend American Muscle.Helpful (9)
Hello. Looking to buy the forgstar f14 19x9/10 staggered wheels. Will they clear/fit the brembo m2300s brake kit I have?
The 19x9/10 Staggered Forgestar F14 Wheel & Pirelli Tire Kit will clear factory and most aftermarket equipped Big Brake Kits.
Ha anyone put these on a GT500 yet? Worried about the actual fitment and if 30's will fit on rear and front will clear brakes?
The Staggered Forgestar F14 Monoblock Gunmetal Wheel & NITTO INVO Tire Kit will clear the GT500 brakes and will have no issues fitting your GT500.
Can I get the Michelin pilot super sport tires instead of the Nitto Inv? And can I put 315s on instead of 305s? I don’t plan on ever lowering my Shelby I just want a summer set of rims and tires with a lot of meat on the rear and put all seasons on my stock rims.
We are able to build a custom wheel and tire kit with the Staggered Forgestar F14 Monoblock Gunmetal Wheel. You can simply add the wheels and tires you desire to the cart and choose for them to be mounted and balanced.
Will they rub if I'm lowered 1.5" all around?
No - you can install this wheel and tire package and drop your Mustang up to 2" without any rubbing or clearance issues. Hope this helps!
Will those fit to my Mustang? I have 2012 Mustang with Brembo pagkage. I lowed my car with Eibach Pro-Kit. I want to know if those 305 rear tires will fit to my car. Thank you.
305 tires fit all Mustangs. The concern with wheel clearance are big brakes, but these state they fit the GT500. So they will fit all Mustangs. 305 size tires pose no fitment issues.
After reading the posted question I asked the chat now online AM customer service and they said YES, which was a huge relieve for me because I spent a little over 3k worth of Forgestar F14s this morning and I didn't check first hand if my Brembos may be an issue. Sad part is I've been around for a while dealing with my Mustangs and I should have known better. Thanks for question reminder post RyanY...!
Gotcha covered! See link: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthread.php?7867-Wheel-weight-comparison-Weights-of-various-popular-18-20-inch-rims Looks like an estimate of 24 lbs. for the 9" and 25 lbs. for the 10" per this guy's scale.
Simple installation for anyone.
