Bama iTSX Wireless Tuner
I absolutely love this tuner. I recently bought it for my 2004 Mustang V6, where I have installed shorty headers, Catted X pipe, and MAC dual exhaust. Also a cold air intake. All you get with this package is the small dongle to plug into your OBD2 port. You must use your smartphone or tablet for the interface. Once you have figured it out, it works very well. I really think that there could have been more and better documentation included with this thing. I am pretty computer literate, but this did have me wondering, "Where do I start? Where do I go to get information??" It's not good. I did contact American Muscle and their customer service rep was VERY helpful, and sent me links, as to where I could get all the information I needed to do a good setup.
I did finally get it set up, and then things become very easy. The instructions on the screen step you through the whole process of loading a tune on to your car. I, so far have loaded, just the 87 octane tune, which has made a huge difference to my car. The Mustang V6, when started from cold, tends to rev quite hard for a while. Now it does not. It starts right up and idles almost at normal idle speed. My idle, when warm is also much slower. I had recently fitted 19" wheels with 245 45R19 tires, so the overall diameter was larger than stock, making my speedometer about 5 MPH slow at 60 mph. The Bama tuner has adjusted for this, and now the reading is correct. Another great thing is that when slowing down from highway speed, the auto transmission will shift down a gear, to assist slowing. I really like that The shift points have also been adjusted, so the slight droning I was getting when driving slowly in town, has virtually disappeared due to the higher shift points.
So far, I haven't checked fuel economy, which was very good anyway, and I can honestly say that I have not really noticed a huge gain in performance. I will soon be heading from here in Arizona, back to Canada on a 1600mile trip so will no doubt get a better idea of the economy. I have also yet to try the 91 octane settings to see how they work.
I really like this tuner, and suggest that you all order one for yourselves from the good folks at American Muscle. Thanks again A.M!!!
