Hey what’s up everyone? I’m Justin from AmericanMuscle.com and I’m checking out one of the coolest products we’ve seen come along for Mustangs in some time. I’m talking about this wireless iTSX tuner from SCT and Bama performance. This is not your standard issue tuner by any means, this has some really cool features and on top of all that works wirelessly using Bluetooth technology and a free app for your Apple or Android device. We’re going to check out all the cool features with this tuner in a minute but first let’s make some dyno runs to see what our Bama tune did to our 2011 GT. Now we’re going to use my iPad and iTSX tuner to upload our custom Bama tune. Upon purchasing this tuner you will receive free custom tunes from Bama performance specifically tailored for your ride. Our Bama specialists ask you’re a series of 19 questions about your particular Mustang and any mods you might have already done and then custom tailor a tune to make the most out of any existing mods. With that custom Bama tune you are going to optimize your spark timing, adjust your variable cam timing, get that air fuel ratio right in the sweet spot and get drastically improved throttle response. And with our free tunes for life you will be happy to know that any time you add a mod that requires a new tune Bama will create a custom tune specifically for that mod and email it directly to you. First you want to plug in the dongle to your OBD2 port, once your Apple device is paired up to the dongle go ahead and upload the custom tune into your iTSX program. Here you will follow the onscreen directions guiding you through the process of uploading your tune. Once the process is completed, your tune is uploaded and you are ready to rock. Now that we have our tune uploaded lets run our GT one more time on the dyno and see how well we did with our custom Bama tune. So here’s our baseline curve on our 2011 GT, and here’s what we got with our custom Bama tune, we put down 379 Horsepower and 358 ft/lb of torque, that’s a peak gain of 21 horsepower and a gain of 31 horsepower and 37 ft/lb of torque throughout the curve. Now that we’ve seen proven results from our custom tune let’s get our GT out of the shop and on to the streets and check out some of the other cool features the iTSX tuner has to offer. Now besides being able to handle our tuning capabilities with ease iTSX is also loaded with a lot of other bells and whistles. Now one of my favorite parts is this onscreen data logging and OBD2 real time monitoring; now this will display all sorts of other information on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch that’s easily readable on the fly. As you can see here we already have a nice big tack, also with our air/fuel ratio, intake air temp sensor, and also our coolant temp sensor. Now these layouts are all customizable depending on the driver to better suit your needs. Another one of the really cool features about this iTSX tuner is the built in performance test, here you will get a general gauge on how fast you do the 0-60 time, your 1/8th and 1/4th mile times, your top speed performance and also your 60-0 performance. Now since we don’t have the luxury of being at a drag strip today we’re just going to test out our 0-60 time in the parking lot and see how accurate it is, so here we go. Press start, and hold on. According to our iTSX tuner we just clicked off 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, which is pretty accurate for this car considering we have 4.10 gears. Our brake time from 60 was 2.7 seconds which is very impressive. Our horsepower and torque numbers are right on par with our Bama tune numbers, we’re looking at 378 horse and 393 ft/lbs of torque. Now while these numbers are not going to be exactly the same as our dynojet numbers I got to admit they are pretty darn close. Now the cool thing is when you are done with this you can hit send, there you go, right in your email ready to be shown to all your friends. Once you’re done that it’s in there ready to be shown to all your friends. Every gear head loves gadgets especially when those gadgets make your car legitimately faster, with our custom Bama tunes, this iTSX tuner does just that and so much more, so if you are looking for a really cool product with all the bells and whistles you could ever want be sure to check out this tuner from SCT.

Woke up my v6
this tuner woke it up went from a 18 second quarter mile to 15 (tuner only). Only down side I have is i had to buy a new computer to install the tunes. but well worth itHelpful (0)

Not worth the money.
The only way i see this product a benefit is if you have every little after market up grade available for your ride. And the tune that you get needs to be good. the first one i got threw off my speedometer off 5 mph. Plus its a pain to send in a tune then it takes over a week to get the tune. If the town you live in has any reputable shops near (which i don't) take it to them and have them do a tune. It will cost a lot less andn be much more effective.Helpful (1)

Hey guys, I've had this SCT tuner for half a year or so now, and have noticed a TON of issues thus far. If you're looking for a chip that literally tunes the car and not a lot more, then this is perfect. If you're looking to not only tune the car, but utilize features like CUSTOM tuning, performance testing, and tune troubleshooting... you're gonna have a bad time. Before I explain what's wrong, I'd like to say that DESPITE THESE FLAWS, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDED IS FANTASTIC! Their tune support team is very professional. Alas, here's what I've noticed could be improved on: 1) User Interface / Accessibility The app's UI is unappealing to look at, and difficult to understand. When setting up a custom gauge cluster, the edit boxes don't even line up with the widget they're meant to replace... The chip seems to understand that it's married to a Mustang, but defaults to a Ford diesel when setting up gauges. When uploading a new tune, it gives you the option to rename it, but doesn't actually give you a button for it. The UI is not very friendly either, offering no descriptions, explanations, recommendations, or warnings for users who may not be well-versed in trying a custom tune. This app is allowed to hold a certain number of tunes, and so far I have two up-to-date tunes and the rest old useless ones. I haven't found a way to delete old tunes either, so my register is filling up quickly. These are just a couple of examples of minor things that really could be fixed for higher review scores, but have been "overlooked". 2) Custom Tune Options This one is hit or miss for some folks, but from the reviews I've read (along with personal experience) the community has trouble with some options not working whatsoever. My experience was with the RPM limiter, both in neutral and drive. This option never yields any results for me, and the BAMA support team didn't have an explanation as to why, for me or anyone else. Also, the options are limited, with no launch control or other basic features. 3) Connectivity This one's simple, but still a nuisance. My SCT tuner typically has issues connecting to Bluetooth after my phone has been away from the car. Typically, I've got to unplug it and plug it back in, then 'forget' the bluetooth device, and reconnect. Just a pain in the butt. Honestly, I do wish I had gone with a Diablo or maybe the Livewire. Although the customer service has been great, it hasn't made up for the low-quality product. I do wish something would be done about it, or perhaps for the guys at American Muscle to at least contact me about it. Thanks for reading!Helpful (4)

The data display is lacking and cheesy. Updating the software alone is a challenge as you must have windows. Same goes for live link. Loading custom tunes is tricky at first.Helpful (1)

Bama iTSX Wireless Tuner Review
Last Review never showed up so I am reviewing again. This tuner does not want to connect to ANDRIOD only phones and will not update via laptop. Spent $400 for nothing. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS TUNER.Helpful (4)

Will this be updated for iOS11? The application is 32bit and iOS11 only supports 64bit and will no longer run once upgraded. I have found nothing regarding this unfortunatly.
SCT is working on iOS 11 capability for the iTSX Wireless Tuner, however, we are still awaiting confirmation for the firmware update. As soon as we receive confirmation, we will update our product page.
Programming. 1.- How many vehicles can be programming with one device? 2.- How many times can be switched the 3 preloaded custom tunes (Street, Race, Performance) into the same vehicle?
You can only use this device to program one vehicle at at time. As long as you return the vehicle to stock, you can switch vehicles 4 times before it becomes locked and must be sent to SCT to be unlocked for $150 plus shipping. You can switch between your 3 tunes as many times as you'd like. Hope this helps!
Is this application able to change the fuel to ethanol e85? For a Mustang GT 2008 ?
With this device can I turn the O2 sensors on and off?
You would need a custom tune for this. The pre-loaded tunes on this tuner would not work.
I have Recently purchase a new Mustang and my tuner was programmed to my last one ? Can I easily Just switch it over ? Or do I have To pay ?

The pre-loaded tunes on this device cannot accommodate a turbo setup, a custom tune would be needed.
This will be able to read and clear codes yes.
The iTSX can be used with your devices data, or WiFi. Bama's tunes can be used with this tuner. We recommend consulting directly with Bama to ensure your tunes for life can be transferred.

Yes, this works for all 96-14 Mustangs.
This SCT iTSX Wireless Tuner is only intended for use with the 96-14 Mustangs.
The SCT iTSX Wireless Tuner will not disable the PATS.
This tuner will not automatically enroll you into the BAMA tunes for life since the tuner will be tuned by SCT instead of tuned from BAMA. Secondly, you will need to send in datalogs for upgrades if using the basic tunes from the tuner.
This does not come with Bama tunes. This is just the SCT device with preloaded tunes. You would need to by a Bama tuner in order to become a Bama member and be signed up for Free Tunes for Life.
Unfortunately our BAMA team would not be able to tune for aftermarket supercharged vehicles, we recommend having your vehicle tuned by a dyno shop.
