Hey everybody, I'm Justin with, and this is my review of the LTH Axleback Exhaust System, fitting your 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT. Available with your choice of either a black or silver tip. So, Long Tube Headers, or LTH for short, is the exhaust division of Custom Performance Engineering, or CPE for short. These guys are definitely a premium brand. All of their products are made right here in the USA. And they make stuff ranging from axlebacks, of course, to long-tube headers, mid-pipes, and even a few over-axle pipes. So, who is going to be looking at the LTH axleback, here? Well, pretty much any daily driver or race car that is after a very high-quality system that is going to offer a good amount of tone. Now, this thing does get its tone through these straight-through design mufflers, perforated on the inside here. And it's going to give you some nice bark, but at the same time, it's going to keep any excess drone to a minimum. In addition to the straight-through design mufflers here, with the LTH, you can also expect a quality 304-grade stainless steel for the build, 2 3/4 inch tubing, beautiful welds like a pack of dimes all over this thing, and finally these massive 4 inch slash or slant-cut tips etched with the LTH logo. And again, you can grab these things in black or silver, depending on what you're after. Now, perhaps one of my favorite things about this exhaust system is this beautiful Titan finish, as LTH refers to it. Basically, a really nice satin finish that's going to look good under the rear bumper for years. Shouldn't discolor, shouldn't corrode. And LTH actually claims that it strengthens the metal itself. As far as price goes, guys, the LTH is certainly not a cheap option. Now, in fact, this thing is coming in at the top of the food chain. Factor in another hundred bones if you do want these black tips, and you're looking at one of the most expensive axlebacks available for your three-valve GT. That being said, hearing this thing in person, reading some of the very favorable customer reviews here on the site, you can expect a solid tone. Now, this thing isn't going to scream, it's not going to be overly loud, but has a very refined tone. It's going to make your three-valve sound great, and it's not going to wake the neighbors in the process. So, for that reason alone, we're going to give it a solid three out of five on our overall scale of loudness, one being close to stock, while five being a little ridiculous. A nice thing about the LTH Axleback or pretty much any axleback for your '05 to '10 GT is that is a 100% bolt-on affair, very straightforward. And for that reason alone, we're going to give it a one out of three wrenches on our overall difficulty meter. Figure a few basic hand tools, some sockets, and you should be making noise in an hour or two, from start to finish. Now, guys, obviously you're going to be doing all of your work underneath the car here. So, common sense will tell you to have your race ramps ready, your jack or jack-stands, or even a lift, if you're one of the lucky ones. In the end, guys, to wrap this thing up, I really do enjoy the LTH Exhaust System here. Obviously the build quality is second to none, the Titan finish looks really sharp, and the tone is nice. It's not going to scream, it's not going to be the loudest exhaust system on the market for your three-valve. But at the end of the day, it's not something you're going to get tired of in a few months of being on the car. Deep Aggressive Sound. A LTH Axle-back Exhaust System by CP-E will add a deep, clean, aggressive exhaust note to your 4.6L V8 powered S197 Mustang without the annoying drone that so many aftermarket exhaust systems tend to have while cruising.

Power And Performance. LTH Axle-Back exhaust systems not only improve the sound of your 4.6L V8 powered Mustang, but with it's free flowing "straight-through" muffler design it also improves exhaust flow to increase rear wheel horsepower and torque.

Stainless Steel Construction. Manufactured in the USA from mandrel bent 2.75" diameter 304 stainless steel tubing for it's durability and corrosion resistance, this LTH Axle-back features two "straight-through" perforated mufflers with massive 4.0" diameter 304 stainless steel tips for impressive muscle car looks and sound.

LTH Titan™ Uniform Satin Finish. Titan™ is LTH's unique proprietary process that produces a bright uniform satin finish over the entire part to eliminate the ugly discoloration from welds, heat, and scratches that are encountered during manufacturing; making it the perfect exhaust finish for high end show cars. Not only does the process create a show quality finish, but it also strengthens the stainless steel to eliminate microscopic sharp edges created during welding that could, if not removed, become tears and cause the product to fail.

Direct Bolt-On Installation. Engineered to be a direct upgrade replacement, this LTH axle-back will easily bolt straight up to the factory piping without any modifications or special tools required for an easy installation.

Application. This LTH Axle-back exhaust system is specifically designed to fit the 2005 to 2010 GT and Bullitt Mustangs equipped with the SOHC 4.6L Modular V8 engine.

    Got these for my 05 GT vert and I must say they are perfect for anyone with a convertible. Great exhaust sound when you stomp on it but nice when idling and cruising around town. Also they lined up and fit absolutely perfect! I am really glad I ponied up a little more because the fit and finish(and sound) are top notch! Thanks AM!

    Perfect subtle exhaust growl

    Easy to install with a great subdued exhaust growl. Perfect for spirited driving without calling attention to yourself (got enough of that riding sportbikes in my younger days). No drone at highway speeds and we are able to carry on a normal conversation in the cabin at speed. I'm about to upgrade from the JLT series 2 already installed to a JLT series 3, so that may increase the volume a bit, but that would put it at just the right amplitude. I left off one star under Loudness (Volume) due to the fact that it was a bit quieter than I expected. Running a 91 octane race tune via Bama on an SCT X4 tuner.

    Great sound with cams and other mod's, no drone!

    Took a chance on these and love them! They sound great, not too loud, not too quiet! For anyone with a similar setup (FRPP Hotrod Cams, BBK TB, CAI, 93 Race tune from Bama, BBK tuned-length headers, BBK high-flow cat X-pipe, Steeda over-the-axle pipes, these axle-backs are a great fit. I ran Mac's (sounded ok, but had some drone), Magnaflow's (too quiet) and now these, just right. For a straight thru muffler, their not obnoxiously loud and there is literally no interior drone with all of the mod's I've done to the GT. Love the satin finish too (never been a huge fan of a shiny chrome look). After researching, I had my eye on two axle-back's for my setup, Corsa Sports and these (seemed similar besides the price). The LTH axle-backs were a great choice for over $100 less (still not cheap, but worth the money). I ended up having to use two clamps to attach them, to make sure they tightened down enough so they wouldn't shake loose, but other than that, they were plug and play!

    Up and Coming USA Company With a GREAT Axel-Back

    After lots of research, I decided on this exhaust. The no drone claim is what sold me. These axle-backs are extremely great looking with this overall finish. It does have a deep and aggressive sound. No drone at all (for me) If you are looking for something different than what everybody else has, go with these. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you might even the start of a new trend! CP-E is a great company!

    Review from LTH Axle-Back Exhaust - Black Tip (05-10 GT)


    This kit is what should be on all mustangs from the factory. I had Corsa Extremes before these and actually like the tone these have better, it has a deeper growl under normal accel. but still screams at WOT! Probably more comparable to Corsa sports than anything else (never tried them) This is my 4th axle-back on this car, and my favorite. (Dynomax VT, Pypes pipe bombs, and Corsa extremes are previous). Install was quick and easy, just had to bend the hangers some to get them perfect.

    Review from LTH Axle-Back Exhaust - Black Tip (05-10 GT)

    Best Axle back for the 4.6.

    Clean, no drone, loud when you want it, quiet when you don't. slightly offset from the rear splitter on the 2010 mustang, but that is just something that 2010 owners have to deal with. if you want something that looks great, does not drone and has an amazing sound, these are the axle backs for you.

    I couldn't find any video clips of the LTH exhaust anywhere on the internet. I listened to many other and really didn't like any that I heard. So, I decided to bit the bullet and get them. I am amazed at the sound these axelbacks have. Deep aggressive sound at idle and no raspy sound when you get into the throttle. I didnt notice any drone. This axelback system is what I've been looking for.
