Hey, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com here with my brief overview of the Magnaflow Catted Tru-X X-Pipe that is available for your 2011-14 GT. Magnaflow really needs no introduction, as they're one of the most trusted names in aftermarket Mustang exhaust, but for those of you new to the game, I'll just let you know that Magnaflow's slogan is the same as their philosophy. They're all about quality, power, and sound, and they're known around the world for producing products that live up to this philosophy. So with that being said, I'll jump right into this catted x-pipe for your S197.So, this is an x-pipe which means that it's going to create a flow pattern for the exhaust gases. It's going to force them to cross and, therefore, even out. The evenness of the flow would create a streamline effect, and it's going to result in a little bit louder, raspier note than an h-pipe would and a little bit more power in the rpm range than the h-pipe. It's also a standard or stock length x-pipe for use with the factory exhaust manifolds or aftermarket shorty headers. For guys with long tubes or you guys out there that are planning on running long tubes, you would need the short x-pipe, of course. Getting down to the finer details, you'll notice that Magnaflow uses 100% stainless steel for the materials along with mandrel-bent 3-inch tubing that maintains a consistent diameter throughout the pipe even at the bends. Now, this is once again important for that flow that we were just talking about earlier, and it's going to have an impact on the torque and horsepower gains that you'll see with this upgrade. We all know of the difficulties and, to be honest, downsides of keeping your 'stang street-legal, so Magnaflow has included these high-flow ceramic cats with the x-pipe. These cats are far less restrictive than the factory cats and they're also lighter, but they will help you pass inspection and emissions. As far as install goes, since we are talking about an x-pipe here, don't expect anything out of the ordinary as far as work goes. In fact, getting this x-pipe bolted up should only take about an hour or two using basic hand tools. So if you're in the market for a new mid-pipe for your S197, then be sure to check out Magnaflow's street-legal Catted Tru-X X-Pipe that is available here at AmericanMuscle.com

The collector studs came damaged. Had to run a die down them. Other than that they fit straight in to the car no problem. They are not really any louder than the stock set up which I like.Helpful (0)

clogged cats after 6 months.
Cats didn't hold up to my 530 hp mustang on low boost. Converters clogged up after 6 months. Im like a dog going back and forth with magnaflow and AM about my warranty that I have but I have accepted the fact that neither of them helped me. PS.. Magnaflow automatically assumed from 5 states away that my car was leaking coolant thus causing the clogging.Helpful (2)

Magnaflow needs some better quality control
For starters, the cats are atleast good quality, so that’s one (and really the only plus of this xpipe). However the x pipe itself simply doesn’t fit. You will need to modify it so it clears the floorboards, and even then it will still bump the frame under hard acceleration. So if your chasing knock issues and have this xpipe, know that this is more than likely causing it.Helpful (0)

Magnaflow catted X pipe
The product is great, I was having a very poor mileage (223 miles per tank) since I had some error codes (402, 430) related to the O2 sensors and cats efficiency. But once I installed this pipe, codes are gone and now im getting 310 miles per tank. To be honest I didnt noticed a big change on the sound. However it does sounds better than stock. Cons: The fit is not 100 perfect, when I cold start the car, you can hear a rattling noise when it reaches 1000 rpm for around 5-10 seconds. I think the solution is to do some welding.Helpful (2)

What is the difference between this and the other Magnaflow catted x-pipe (Magnaflow PN 16399)?
The difference is the type of catalytic converters on them, the Magnaflow Catted Tru-X X-Pipe (48066) have oem style cats on them, while the Magnaflow Catted Tru-X X-Pipe (16399) have a performance grade cats.
Will these pass the smog/emission test in Northern Virginia?
We cannot guarantee these will pass emissions, and recommend reaching out to a shop to look into restrictions and ordinances in regards to emissions.
For the censors do i need to get extensions cords?
The Magnaflow Catted Tru-X X-Pipe will not require O2 Sensor Extensions.
Does this set off the check engine light? I noticed y'all said no tune required, I plan on getting these and was wondering if it will set the check engine light off. I plan on getting a tune but not till later on down the road.
No, because they still have catalytic converters.
Will this require a Tune? Will i need a tune with this xpipe
You do not require one, however to get the maximum performance I would recommend a tune.
Florida doesn't have any emissions laws. It is illegal to run without cats, but I have never heard of anyone being fined for it. I have lived in Florida for 20 years. This xpipe will work fine with a supercharger. If, however, you plan on adding long tube headers at some point then this xpipe will not work with the long tubes.
Due to new EPA restrictions we are not currently offering off-road x-pipes.
This will work together yes.
The Magnaflow Catted Tru-X X-Pipe will work with Magnaflow Shorty Headers.
Unfortunately, these cats are not specifically smog legal, you would have to speak with a local shop or state ordinances to find out if these cats would pass a smog test.
Yes, depending on the pipe diameter of the corsa dual tip exhaust it will fit with this catback system. A tune is not required for this magnaflow cat back, however, to get optimum performance, a tune is recommended.
You would be able to put this X-pipe on your car with out a tune yes. However, it is recommended to get a tune when changing out headers or mid-pipes.
Hello! You can have these installed alongside Roush Axle-back exhaust!
To connect this mid-pipe to the axleback exhaust, you would need over axle pipes which we have from Borla item #397308 and LTH #34476 which you can find at the links below. Borla - http://www.americanmuscle.com/borla-over-axle-pipes-1114-gt-gt500.html LTH - http://www.americanmuscle.com/lth-over-axle-pipe-1114gt.html
Compared to the stock mid pipe with the stock catalytic converters, this pipe may add a bit of drone and rasp to the exhaust as well as make it louder.
