      Review & Installation Video

Hey, I’m Justin from, and this is our breakdown of Magnaflow’s race series axle-back exhaust for the 2011 and newer V6 Mustang. The race series from Magnaflow is, without a doubt, their most aggressive package in terms of both performance and sound. That’s because this kit completely eliminates your restrictive factory mufflers, utilizing a straight through mandrel bent design for maximum flow and sound. Magnaflow decided to go with a 100% stainless steel construction throughout the entire kit, from that 2 ½ inch mandrel bent piping all the way down to those dual 4 inch polished tips. The install on this kit isn’t that bad; it should only take you about an hour in your driveway using standard hand tools. Now let’s hear how Magnaflow’s race series axle-back sounds compared to your factory exhaust.

        5 2014 V6 - TOAD14 Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

I read so many reviews before buying this exhaust because it is difficult to find a good exhaust for a V6. I have a 2014 mustang and I absolutely love the way this exhaust makes my car sound. It sounds loud and great when taking off but when you are have the cruise set on the highway it isn't obnoxious. The install was pretty easy I am a 20 year old girl and I installed mine myself in my driveway. I didn't like how you have to use the stock clamps because they were difficult to get around the new exhaust but overall I recommend this product to anyone with a V6 mustang that wants to be noticed.

        Great sound! Axle backs unrestricted!

Not bad install for someone that’s never done axle backs before and the BANG for your buck couldn’t be more! Definitely pick these up if you can’t dip into the Borlas just yet.

        Best Exhuast for Price

This exhaust really sounds like a V8 at times. I installed these at a shop, they took about 30 minutes and charged me $80 for labor. I'm really satisfied with the sound, loud when you want it to be, nice and quiet when theres a cop behind you. Like the deep tone it gives, with nice little crackes and pops at the end.

        Love it.

The item came in 2 days with free shipping and was well handled. The install only took about an hour but that was because I didn’t have a lift. Super easy to install. The exhaust sounds great but once in a while it gets raspy around 5000 rpm.

        5 2012 V6 - SoLo Installation Time: Afternoon

Deep Sound on cold start and idle!

Installed the Race series axle-backs on my 2012 Mustang. The sound is night and day between stock and these axle-backs. Install took 2 hours only because the stock mufflers were rusted and used WD-40 and a rubber hammer to loosed them up. You do not need an exhaust removal tool. Just use WD-40 and it slides right off the hanger. After a week of breaking in period. They sound a lot more refined. It’s not as loud as when I first put them on, which is probably a good thing. The sound is different from the videos shown here and on other youtube videos. They sound way better. Low deep rumble/humming from 1200 RPM to about 2500 RPM. Quiet on cruising speeds. Honestly at week 2 of having these on, the cold start is the only thing that remains the loudest. Don’t think about it and get these axle-backs. I’ve heard so manhy different exhaust set ups and most of them sound too raspy and high pitched. Like a ricer car exhaust. These can only sound better when paired up with shorty or long headers and mid-pipe upgrades. They also obviously look a lot better than stock. No more monster mufflers hanging from the back of your Stang. Love to see quiet silent Cameros and Challengers turn their necks whenn Mustang comes through.

        5 2013 V6 - Superb Installation Time: Afternoon

        Sounds Great!

I was very nervous when I first installed this on my car, thought it would be unbelievably loud and maybe too much. However, after about a week, the exhaust has 'broken itself in' and the sound is much more tolerable than I thought it would be. 10/10

        Incredible Upgrade

There is a negligible performance increase, but the sound puts a smile on your face. It has a deep, throaty sound. No drone to my ears.

Magnaflow race series Axel backs what can I say.

The Magnaflow race series Axle-back well what can I say, First when they arrived they were a lot longer then what expected. I was going to bring them to a garage for the install but after I watched a couple videos I went for it myself. I am glad I did. They were super easy ti install. They fit like a glove. One 13mm bolt and a little tug back and forth the stock mufflers came right off. I had to wedge a block of wood on the H pipe to hold it out of the way. The Passenger side was easier then driver side. Roughly about 15 minutes to finish passenger side. Driver side took a little longer. There was more of a struggle to get the stock off. There wasn't much room. The only problem was there was a piece of thin steel spot welded to the muffler holding the clamp. Bent it back and forth till it snapped off. Used the bench grinder to grind off tab till it was flush with the clamp. Magnaflow pipes went in no problem. My rubber hangers were in great condition they stretched easy to fit the hangers. All together the whole install took abiut 45 minutes. Then the test. Started it up and it sounded great. They really are not as loud as I thought they'd be. One things for sure you get mad respect on the through way cars just move outta your way when your screaming down the highway. It souds good. A nice rumble at idle and just driving around the streets. I probably saved about $150/200 bucks. I always worked on my cars and trucks myself but when it comes to certain things Id rather pay a Pro. I learned the mustang is no different then the jobs Ive done on my vehicles in the past.

Hi, i have a question about the amount of drone this will produce. I drive all the time with the windows down, and the radio on. Will it be too loud that i cannot hear my radio?

      • There will be some drone with this, and depending on the vehicle speed, it will be hard to hear much else with the drone.

Will this fit on a 2010 v6 with a duel exhaust valance?

      • This will not fit the 2010 V6 as they will only have one axle back. You will need to do one of the true dual conversions to be able to run two mufflers with the dual exhaust valance.

Has anybody gotten a ticket or a warning from a cop because of these?

      • Hey trevor, For just an axle back its hard to be loud enough for police intervention, so you should be able to avoid getting a ticket

Hi! i am thinking of buying this for the first time.... my actual question is, is it east to install ? like i just have to take my stock and replace this? please tell me. thank you.

      • Hey Ali, Yeup! this is pretty straight forward installation. It should bolt in the stock location and probably should take about an hour with some elbow grease!

inspection? will this exhaust pass nj state inspection because it has no mufflers?

      • It should most state inspections are based more if you have a cat, it still has a muffler just no resonators so will be much louder and raspy.
