    Review & Install Video

Hey, I’m Justin from AmericanMuscle.com, and this is our breakdown of Magnaflow’s race series axle-back exhaust for the 2011 and newer V6 Mustang. The race series from Magnaflow is, without a doubt, their most aggressive package in terms of both performance and sound. That’s because this kit completely eliminates your restrictive factory mufflers, utilizing a straight through mandrel bent design for maximum flow and sound. Magnaflow decided to go with a 100% stainless steel construction throughout the entire kit, from that 2 ½ inch mandrel bent piping all the way down to those dual 4 inch polished tips. The install on this kit isn’t that bad; it should only take you about an hour in your driveway using standard hand tools. Now let’s hear how Magnaflow’s race series axle-back sounds compared to your factory exhaust.

Save Money. Want more performance and an aggressive exhaust note, but don't want to buy a whole catback? Let lesser cars know to clear the track or strip with the impressive sound of Magnaflow's Race Series Axle-Back for your 2011-2014 V6. This premium quality axle-back eliminates the restrictive stock mufflers to deliver superior sound and performance without the cost of a whole catback.

Aggressive Muscle Car Sound. The Magnaflow Race Series Axle-Back has a straight through muffler delete design for minimal restriction. The design of the Race Axle-Back provides the most aggressive sound you can get with the stock cats still in place while still improving exhaust flow and power.

Quality Construction. Constructed from 100% stainless steel for long life, the Magnaflow Race Series Axle-Back Exhaust System features free-flowing 2.5" stainless tubing and dual 4" polished stainless steel tips. The tubing is mandrel bent to improve exhaust flow and to assure a perfect fit.

Application. Made to be a direct bolt on using factory hardware, this Magnaflow Race Series Race Axle-Back will bolt right up without any extra modifications required on 2011-2014 V6 Mustangs. Installation instructions are included.

Hi, i have a question about the amount of drone this will produce. I drive all the time with the windows down, and the radio on. Will it be too loud that i cannot hear my radio?

    • There will be some drone with this, and depending on the vehicle speed, it will be hard to hear much else with the drone.

Will this fit on a 2010 v6 with a duel exhaust valance?

    • This will not fit the 2010 V6 as they will only have one axle back. You will need to do one of the true dual conversions to be able to run two mufflers with the dual exhaust valance.

Hi! i am thinking of buying this for the first time.... my actual question is, is it east to install ? like i just have to take my stock and replace this? please tell me. thank you.

    • Hey Ali, Yeup! this is pretty straight forward installation. It should bolt in the stock location and probably should take about an hour with some elbow grease!

inspection? will this exhaust pass nj state inspection because it has no mufflers?

    • It should most state inspections are based more if you have a cat, it still has a muffler just no resonators so will be much louder and raspy.

Is there really much of a sound difference between this exhaust and a muffler delete from a shop? the muffler delete uses stainless steel as well

    • Ultimately, the sound will come down to personal preference and we would advise to check out the video clip on the productpage for a feel as to how this will sound.

How come this exhaust sounds so much better than the Magnaflow Competition Series Cat-back exhaust? I know this exhaust basically has no muffler, but I would still think that the cat-back system should sound better than the axel-back, even though the cat-back does have a muffler. 1 answer

      Amazing for the 3.7L

These Axle-Backs sound amazing! There is very little drone on a stock system. You will turn a lot of heads with these. They look great and sound so good! Super easy to install too. Took me a couple hours install but only because it was my first mod. If I did again it would be much faster. For a V6 mustang these are what you want. Nice bass on low RPMs and loud and raspy on the high RPMs

      Awesome Sounding beast!!

Such a big difference from my stock exhaust, it has a deeper tone and very aggressive, also after I tuned my car it started to sound a little more cleaner after driving for about a week. I highly recommend this axle back to anyone that's in the market.

      It's ok!

Some of the reviews make it seem like this is must have but let me remind you, this is a muffler delete. On idle, low revs, and casual driving, this sounds great! If your in park and REV, it sounds beautiful! If you punch it while driving, its super loud and kinda has that farting sound that we all don't want.

      Fantastic sound

Over all I paid $500 to get the exhaust and have it put on (My factory exhaust was spot welded on and I had no way to cut it) and it took less than 30 minutes for them to install it. Its not too loud at idle or just driving, but when you put your foot down and start playing with it, then its much louder and sounds even better. Pops and gurgles are common between gears. Which is a plus in my book. I couldn't be happier with this.

Don't think, Justin buy it! You won't regret it.

Placed my order on Friday and the Axle backs got here on Monday. Super fast shipping! Everything was exactly as I expected even came with some cool stickers. Anyways the install is pretty easy however those rubber hangers are a pain to deal with. After everything was installed I go to start my car to see how it sounds and immediately I start to smile. These axle backs are deep sounding and really aggressive. I love it! Around 3/4K rpm you hear some nice crackling sounds can't wait to take it out on th highway.

      Great Sound

This exhaust is as loud as advertised and makes the car much more fun to drive. It does add a bit of drone but that can be blocked out with radio. Only downside is driving through the neighborhood late at night or early in the morning because of the noise. But overall 10/10 exhaust

Exactly what I was listening for!

I love the new sound of my 2014 V6 convertible. I'm pretty sure this is the best bang for the buck if you're looking to sound tough using an axle back system. Use care when taking off your OEM mufflers as you will need to reuse the factory clamps as new ones are not included. I'm not a motor head by any means and these were pretty easy to install.
