    Street Or Strip. The McLeod RXT Twin Disc Clutch is perfect for aggressive street driving and occasional drag strip use. Able to hold up to 1000hp, the RXT Twin Disc Clutch kit is ideal for extreme horsepower Mustangs that need a good reliable street clutch.

    Twin Ceramic Discs. Featuring ceramic faced twin sprung hub friction discs, this RXT Clutch will provide slightly aggressive engagement with a soft pedal effort and excellent release characteristics. This a very driver friendly clutch suitable for most street performance enthusiasts.

    Application. This McLeod RXT Twin Disc Clutch and Flywheel Kit is designed for use on the 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 Mustangs equipped with a TR-6060 manual 26-spline transmission.

    Technical Note. It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

    Will this clutch work for daily driving? I have a 2008 GT500 that needs the clutch replaced. I have heard that the OEM clutch from Ford is not very good and wears out very easily. Would this clutch be a better option since I use the car as a daily driver? I have also upgraded the car to 605hp, which is more than the 500hp stock, so I assume the higher hp wears the clutch faster. Thanks!

    • Yes ,it is true the stock Ford lasted me 3 months,the Spec made me feel like I was legpressing at the gym and nervous in traffic(engagement to disengagement transition non existant,w/tuning that made 800 hp available instantly) It was a scary period!!The McLeod RXT from A.M. that I just had installed is the way to go ! I love it!Thanks Amer. Muscle!

    Do I need to purchase a Mcleod Throwout bearing/slave cylinder to Go along with this clutch?

    • Do you need it, probably not. On the other hand, look what your considering: A clutch/flywheel combo able to hold 1000 hp. If your pushing mods up in that direction, I would highly advise it with the stress your placing on the other components to go for it. After all, remember what the shift brackets look like that Ford puts on stock? If she is your prize give her the full detail. Ride hard, ride safe!

      Great Clutch

      This clutch is far superior to the factory clutch it replaced. Nice soft pedal and hooks up hard.

      Big improvement over OEM

      This is my third replacement clutch - the first two were Ford replaced under warranty. The RXT is lighter and quicker to engage. No chatter. It is like a different car to drive - pure joy!

      07 GT500 Clutch Install

      When I ordered the McLeod RXT clutch there was a six Holt flywheel that had come with it instead of the 8 bolt. American Muscle was very quick and helpful on getting the right product sent to me overnight. Typical install costs are around $500-$800 it usually takes about a full day. So far so good at about 200 miles in the break in period. Clutch is very soft way better than OEM feel just waiting to really test it out after the break in period. I'm just over 600HP

      Break-In... So Far, So Good!

      I replaced just the clutch package (clutch assy and flywheel). I was incredibly surprised and pleased with the ease of the pedal application to engage the RXT Clutch. And man, does it ever grab quick on the release! It'll take some getting use to the new feel and touch, but I am already incredibly pleased. This is the fourth clutch replacement for my car, (first three were OEM) and I'd steer any Shelby owner away from replacing with a Ford OEM clutch after those experiences, even if it's their first replacement. This seems to be a great buy. I will update my review after the 500 mile break-in.

      McLeod 1000 HP Clutch W/Flywheel

      I have not yet mounted this clutch on my Shelby GT500, but American Muscle staff was awesome to deal with. Very friendly. The clutch looks pretty impressive though.

      Great Clutch!!

      Oh, what a night and day difference from the 2010 TSB clutch that was in my GT500. Smooth, easy, yet great bite!! I do miss the hiss of the "stock" clutch, but this is the clutch that Ford should have gone with from the beginning. I also researched the Spec Stage II, but decided to go with the RXT. I don't have any first hand experience with the Spec, but so far, 600 miles in, I am loving this clutch. It is a little pricey, which is why I gave it 3 stars on that category, but still cheaper than another clutch from Ford. If I had it to do all over again, I would still buy this clutch.

      Better than stock

      Still breaking in but feels better than stock ever did. Still chatters if you don't launch hard enough from stop, guess that is common with twin disc. Expensive but wort it if it holds up.

      Great Clutch Setup

      I got this clutch as a replacement for the stock clutch that was going out on the GT500, the car has a few mods so I wanted to get something to handle the extra power. I would highly recommend the McLeod. Very satisfied with the product, when I first got in and depressed the clutch pedal I almost put my foot through the floor. Very light resistance, the difference is night and day between the McLeod and stock, but it still has great holding power.

      Mcleod RXT Clutch & Flywheel

      Great clutch to replace the cr*p one Ford put in the GT500. 2 clutch's in less than 37k miles. You will not be disappointed in this clutch, smoother than factory, release about a 1/4 of the travel from the bottom, rated for up to 1000 HP. Customer service at AM as always, outstanding!

      McLeod RXT Clutch

      Removed a Spec twin SS and replaced with the MCLeod RXT. The McLeod is night and day more street friendly that the Spec. Love the McLeod hate the Spec! Go McLeod if you drive your car on the street.

      RXT Clutch

      This clutch compared to the stock clutch that came with my 09 gt500 is outstanding. What a difference in the pedal. I would recommend this to anyone looking to replace their junk Ford stock clutch.

      Where has this car been!!

      Smooth shifting, softer pedal than stock and the grip is amazing. Where has this car been this clutch system has really woke this Shelby up. Stock design is trash!! Buy this clutch system ASAP you will not regret it trust me. Nothing but problems from the stock system. Some much power was being robbed when I test drove the car after the install, came back grinning like a school girl and you will to.

      Finally...

      When I asked A M salesperson why I should try Mcleod instead of replacing my Spec, he mentioned all the qualities of the Brand that happened to be my problem with the previous clutch.       McLeod RXT1000HP Clutch Assy
