    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my quick look into the Pypes muffler deleting axle back exhaust system, fitting all 2005-2010 Mustang GTs, and GT500s. This axle back is for the Mustang owner who is looking for quite possibly one of the loudest setups with the cats in place, all for a price that’s going to be very hard to beat. Besides really cranking up the volume on your 3 valve, the muffler deleting axle back will increase the flow of exhaust, by eliminating the restrictive factory mufflers, which should equate to some more power at the rear wheels. Construction wise the Pypes system utilizes full 304 grade stainless steel throughout, including the mandrel bent 2.5” tubing and hangers all exiting out the removable 4” slash cut tips. Even though this is an axle back and the install should be relatively straightforward, you may run into an issue with modifying or relocating some of the hangers, as some of our customers have pointed out under the review section. Either way just be sure to leave yourself about an hour to get everything bolted up. Now let’s hear how the Pypes muffler deleting axle back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Increase Performance. Bolting on a Pypes Muffler Delete Axle-Back to a stock 2005-2010 GT or 2007-2010 GT500 will yield an instant 5 to 10 horsepower gain. It features a unique "muffler delete" design for the ultimate in flow and power gains with an ultra aggressive sound!

Aggressive Sound. This Pypes straight through "muffler delete" axle back system is designed to increase air flow and to produce one of the loudest exhaust sounds possible with the stock catalytic converters still in place. This is the closest thing to running straight pipes on your Mustang.

Polished 409 Stainless Steel. This Axle-Back system from Pypes is constructed from high quality 409 Polished 2.5" Stainless Steel tubing and features a 4" rolled edge slash cut polished tip, that exits in the stock location for aggressive Muscle Car looks.

Application. Made to be a direct bolt on, this Pypes Muffler Delete Axle-Back bolts right up in the stock location without any modifications required on the 2005-2010 GT or 2007-2010 GT500 Mustangs.

Technical Note: Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

Is this compatible with BBK True Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit (05-09 V6)?

        • The Pypes Muffler-Delete Axle-Back Exhaust will not work with the BBK True Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit without the use of GT over axle pipes. We typically recommend purchasing a complete cat-back exhaust to go with the True Dual kit.

installed on my 08 GT, and the passenger side hangs a good bit lower than the driver side , , everything is in place as it should be I don't understand ..

        • We would advise to check that everything is lined up properly, the bolts are tightened and secure, and that the clamp is on there as tight as possible. If you were still having further issues with the install of this item please feel free to reach out to our customer service department by giving us a call at 1-877-887-1105 or by chatting in with us we would be glad to help!

        • Yes, this is compatible with the dual exhaust conversion kits for the V6 Mustang.

Would this be compatible with a 2005 Roush Mustang if I us Roush tips instead of the supplied ones by Pypes?

        • We have not attempted to use the Pypes Muffler-Delete Axle-Back Exhaust with Roush Tips on a Roush rear bumper, but we believe the tip alignment may be off with this setup.

I'm looking at these and was wondering what the decibel would be under hard acceleration with these exhaust? If anyone knows can they please tell me. Thank you!

        • The Pypes Muffler-Delete Axle-Back Exhaust will not have a specified or guaranteed decibel level, however it is safe to say that as a muffler delete, this will be very loud.

            Sounds great

Would suggest using a full lift for this, I used two jacks and some wood. With help from my family, we finished it in about 2 and a half hours. It was totally worth every penny because it sounds amazing.

            Amazing

This system is beautiful. The flow rate is linier and the sound is amazing. No drone, and calm cruising, but when you hit it the whole world thinks they are at the Rolex 24 hours. Manufacturer "still" has not fix the hangar on the passenger side. I had a shop install and they cut and welded the hangar to make it fit perfectly.

            FITMENT ISSUES

Opened box to scan instructions and clearly stated on cover that product only fits 05-07 models. I have an 08 and certainly did not work no matter what we tried. I am sure with modifications it can be made to work but it is supposed to be a bolt on , no cutting or modification needed.

Put these on my 2009 GT500. Sounds like heaven everywhere I go. Downshifting through a tunnel is like ambrosia for my ears and everyone else's too. One of the hangers needed to be moved but not a big deal.

            The sound of thunder!

Impossibly loud! If you want to be noticed within a 3 mile radius this is the exhaust for you. Pair it with LTH and off road x pipe and prepare to cause heart murmurs Hangars are off and will make your tips look wonky. Needs to be welded at a better angle

            Great Sound

Like most other folks had trouble with the passenger side during install. The back bracket does not work with it at all. I took the bracket off completely and tightened the pipe to where I needed at the connection and the "middle bracket". I then rummaged through my coffee cans with stuff in them and found the thing I needed. It was a door latch (the piece that screws into the door jamb), I was able to slide it onto the rod connected to the back of the pipe and using one of the bracket bolts fastened it in one of the existing back bracket holes. Don't know how long the door jamb latch will last but I have been driving it for a couple of weeks over fairly bumpy roads with no problem. It sounds great, not to loud and not to quiet.

            decent

The install does not go smoothly. The right side is difficult to get even. Pypes knows about this and still does not fix their product. Pay a little more for a better brand

            Pypes muffler delete.

I give it three stars. The driver side goes on easy except the hangers aren't bent right. Only the rear hanger on driver side will kind of fit but you have to really work with it. Passenger side is really bad. First the rear hanger is way to long you will have to cut it off and rig up something for it to fit like a muffler clamp. the other hanger doesn't fit either. You will need time and patience to get it done yourself. The sound is awesome! Sounds like a new mustang, with a more aggressive tone along with the x pipe I installed.

            Good sound, bad fit

Have a shop install it, in order to get it to fit you need to know how to weld. Cost $70 to get it fixed, some charge $150. If it fit perfectly it would’ve been 5 stars
