      Review & Installation Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my quick look into the Pypes muffler deleting axle back exhaust system, fitting all 2005-2010 Mustang GTs, and GT500s. This axle back is for the Mustang owner who is looking for quite possibly one of the loudest setups with the cats in place, all for a price that’s going to be very hard to beat. Besides really cranking up the volume on your 3 valve, the muffler deleting axle back will increase the flow of exhaust, by eliminating the restrictive factory mufflers, which should equate to some more power at the rear wheels. Construction wise the Pypes system utilizes full 304 grade stainless steel throughout, including the mandrel bent 2.5” tubing and hangers all exiting out the removable 4” slash cut tips. Even though this is an axle back and the install should be relatively straightforward, you may run into an issue with modifying or relocating some of the hangers, as some of our customers have pointed out under the review section. Either way just be sure to leave yourself about an hour to get everything bolted up. Now let’s hear how the Pypes muffler deleting axle back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

      Description

Increase Performance. Bolting on a Pypes Muffler Delete Axle-Back to a stock 2005-2010 GT or 2007-2010 GT500 will yield an instant 5 to 10 horsepower gain. It features a unique "muffler delete" design for the ultimate in flow and power gains with an ultra aggressive sound!

Aggressive Sound. This Pypes straight through "muffler delete" axle back system is designed to increase air flow and to produce one of the loudest exhaust sounds possible with the stock catalytic converters still in place. This is the closest thing to running straight pipes on your Mustang.

      Polished 409 Stainless Steel.
This Axle-Back system from Pypes is constructed from high quality 409 Polished 2.5" Stainless Steel tubing and features a 4" rolled edge slash cut polished tip, that exits in the stock location for aggressive Muscle Car looks.

Application. Made to be a direct bolt on, this Pypes Muffler Delete Axle-Back bolts right up in the stock location without any modifications required on the 2005-2010 GT or 2007-2010 GT500 Mustangs.

Technical Note. Americanmuscle recommends adding the 2005+ Mustang 304 Stainless Steel Exhaust Hanger Kit from the drop down option above, to provide more strength, stability and a cleaner installed appearance. If you have a 2007 Mustang you may need the kit for correct installation.

        3 2007 GT - Dom3v Installation Time: Weekend

GREAT... once i fixed the pass side pipe

so im going to be as easy as possible here, the drivers side was flawless, had that on there in 20 minutes, the passenger side was a whole issue in itself. the fitment was almost non existent and for some weird reason, the rear pipe hanger (by the back bumper) was cut and bent to be 8.5 inches, when all the others were a even 4 inches at the bend. it took 4 days, cutting, welding, and a whole lot of other stuff to make it fit and look right. if you have the time, i recommend these pipes all day, they sound absolutely amazing, but if your looking for easy install... buy something else. I still have nightmares about the passenger side pipe.

Sounds mean, fit and finish is not the best.

Fantastic sound for the price. One axleback hung lower than the other. No matter how I adjusted it would not go even as the other. Had to do some personal configuring to get it to work.

        Good sound not bad

Overall the product was nice, and sound amazing it’s a lot louder than i expected. Only complaint is the passenger side hanger being too long like many other people have commented on. It’s about 2-3 inches too long and really stands out

        Not worth it

Fitment was horrible, passenger side pipe hung low by about 4 inches. Can be fixed buy cutting and tacking the hanger to the correct length. If you are going to buy these you might as well just do a straight muffler delete. This exhaust doesn't make much of any changes to sound (sounds worse than stock in my opinion) and is not worth the time, effort and money.

        Pypes Muffler Deletes are LOUD

Be WARNED, these pair of muffler deletes are VERY LOUD. If volume is what you want for under $300 then these are your best bet. The fit was great and these are very simple to install. This exhaust screams at WOT but if needed you can be fairly quiet if you shift at 2500 rpm. Would recommend to anyone thats looking to turn up the volume

2 2005 GT - Jevans Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Sounds good but fitment is not the best

I will say the packaging is very nice and the sound once installed is amazing but the fitment on the passenger side tailpipe is terrible. The hanger is too long so the pipe sits lower than the drivers side.

        Sounds great but..

Exhaust sounds great, but the fitment is off by a lot on the right exhaust. For $260 I’d expect both sides to fit, I have to take my car to an exhaust shop so they can make it right

      5 Top Rated Questions

Is there a difference between these and just a straight pipe for a muffler delete? Other than these are just made by Pypes...?

      • The Pypes Muffler-Delete Axle-Back Exhaust (05-10 GT, GT500) are a Muffler-Delete Exhaust. There will be no muffler included in this kit. These Pypes are designed to increase air flow and produce the loudest sound possible while running stock catalytic converters. Pypes Muffler Delete will be fairly similar to running an actual straight pipe.

Is this compatible with BBK True Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit (05-09 V6)?

      • The Pypes Muffler-Delete Axle-Back Exhaust will not work with the BBK True Dual Exhaust Conversion Kit without the use of GT over axle pipes. We typically recommend purchasing a complete cat-back exhaust to go with the True Dual kit.
