  • True Dual Exhaust for a V6
  • Includes Catted X-Pipe and Cat-Back
  • Increases of 10 to 20 Horsepower
  • 2.5" 409 Stainless Steel Tubing
  • 3" Polished 304 Stainless Steel Tips
  • Fits 1998 to 2004 V6 Mustangs
Increase In Performance. Bolting on a Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit to a stock 1998 to 2004 V6 will yield an increase of 10 to 20 more horsepower! This Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit includes both the Catted X-Pipe and Cat-Back needed to give your Mustang an impressive throaty V8 sound and increase in rear wheel horsepower.

Catted X-Pipe design. This Pypes catted x-pipe balances out the gas pressures in your exhaust system to create more power and torque than the stock Y-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power. Pypes High Flow Catalytic Converters are included.

Quality Materials. Both the Catted X-Pipe and Cat-Back are constructed from mandrel bent 2.5" 409 stainless steel. The X-Pipe features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength and the Dual Cat-Back features Pypes Street-Pro 3-chamber mufflers for an aggressive throaty sound. With its 3" polished 304 stainless steel tips this system not only sounds great, but it looks great too.

Application. The Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit is specifically designed to fit on any 1998 to 2004 3.8L or 3.9L V6 Mustang for more power and a more aggressive sound.

Technical Note: May require the use of O2 Sensor Extensions for proper installation. Some cutting to the flow tubes is required.

Is this Exhaust system better than say the; Magnaflow Dual Catback Exhaust (99-04 V6), and if so Why? Im considering the purchase of the Pypes True Dual Catted Exhaust (98-04 V6) over the other Exhaust systems your site has to offer. Just looking for a more detailed look at the effectiveness of the part over the others.

  • Yes because it's a true dual system vs catback system. A catback dual is dual after the cats or Y pipe. A true dual is dual after the manifolds/headers. The X pipe is the only place the exhaust restricts on this system and it's still a lot less of a restriction than a catback system has. The best is a true dual with H pipe. That way the pipes don't intersect. The H pipe strictly evens out exhaust flow without the main pipes comming together at a single point in the entire system.

    Perfect

It was absolutely what I was looking for after some idiot destroyed the exhaust and remove the cats and O2 sensors on my son's car just before he bought it we didn't know until we got underneath and there was nothing salvageable. It was a little bit of a pain in the butt to install but anybody that knows anything about exhaust all of it is we got it done in about 3 hours just on jack stands no welding was needed but cutting was but not very hard and instructions were great and the sound note is just what we were looking for loud but not obnoxious I would totally recommend!

the whole exhaust was very difficult to install, the fit was very difficult took a lot longer to install than I was led to believe but once on it looks good and no rattles, thank God I had torches to tweak the exhaust holders ,5 plus hrs to install I also put headers on that was easier and that took 3 hrs by its self

    Expected not expected.

This set up is great. Sounds better then i first imagined and the set lines up decently. I knew there would be some hard work with this install. I expected that the cats would already be welded in. That was the point in buying the catted package. Also would think about tree other 2cats to made 4 total for emissions. Its stock 4 cats they expect to see 4 cats. Other then that if you are not dumb its pretty simple.

    Pretty awesome

The install was pretty simple took me a couple of hours over a weekend because of improper tools I had but went together and lined up nicely. Depending on individual tastes, the loudness is great and the look is phenomenal.

    Save your money..

I’ve purchased many things from AM and honestly this was a really bad purchase, one of the exhaust tips already broke from simply cheap materials I’m guessing, the hanger from the exhaust tip broke off.

    Don't waste your money

Only thing from American Muscle that I've been disappointed with. The mufflers have the most horrific sound, I immediately replaced the Mufflers with Magnaflows. It was a waste of time and money, took two trips to the mechanic to get the exhaust put on without any leaks, and ended up having it welded together. The clamps are terrible, sound is terrible and the fit was terrible. Why make exhaust specifically for a car if it doesn't fit? Never purchasing Pypes brand again.

    Pypes dual conversion

Sounds great when accelerating or Erving, idling is a little quiet, overall great exhaust. Instal is time consuming I suggest triple checking yourself afterwards, I had some rattling from one of the bolts, so rechecked every nut and bolt. Over all great product, but pypes installation instruction sheet could be a lot better, more images and steps and not just broad examples, would be better with in-depth instructions.

    True Dual Catted Exhaust

Just got these babies installed on my 03 V6. Along with this I also purchased the BBK Shorty Headers, as well as replaced all 4 of the O2 sensors (might as well take care of it all at once!) All I can say is I wish I had of done it years ago. The power and the sound is amazing compared to stock. I also have a cold air intake and now my pony can breathe. Now I need to purchase the tuner to get the full effects of my mods to date.

    Worth it

Definitly happy with this exhaust. Not as loud as I wanted, thinking about replacing street pro mufflers that were included with the violator series. But other than that very happy. The only downsides were that the fit is not perfect and directions are very vague. Rear passenger tailpipe hanger was welded on crooked and the system hangs too low, as if they were made for shorty headers.

    Pypes Dual Exhaust

I am happy with the product. It sounds really good, I was expecting it to be a little louder than it is, It required slight modifications, after that it fit together nicely. It does hang a little lower than the magnaflow cat back system that I had on before, which is why the 4 out of 5. All in all I am pleased with the new system.
