    flywheel? can I use my stock flywheel if I get it resurfaced?

    • Yes, but only if the thickness is acceptable. It is better to use whatever manufactures brand flywheel to match the clutch however.

      Bad kit

      Installed this 8 months-@2500 miles ago. I am a daily-weekend driver. Don't do burnouts or abuse the clutch at all. From the start the pedal effort was very firm for a stage 1 clutch. Stop and go traffic is no fun. Started hearing a rattle had my mechanic check it out and the pressure plate (re manufactured) and throw out bearing were gone. Don't buy this kit and go with the Ford Racing throw out bearing!

      Great feel

      Love the new clutch matched up with frpp throw out and pilot bearings plus the SR performance kit the HDX is a great upgrade from stock pedal movement and feel is perfect clutch engages smooh

      Great clutch

      this clutch was very easy to install and slide right on. I have had it installed for about 500 miles now and I love it. The only thing that would be my advice is to get a aftermarket clutch cable or you will have some problems with the clutch not disengaging all the way when you go to accelerate hard but other than that it shifts amazing and clutch pedal is just hard enough to give you that bite feel but soft enough to be okay for daily driving. Would defiantly get another if I had to!

      Best clutch I have tried

      I've ran numerous clutch combos and this is by far my favorite. I feel like it has a really soft pedal feel, great release for hard shifts, and its still capable of holding the power for abuse. It isn't recommended for slicks, but I cut 1.6 short times on slicks with this clutch. I just put this clutch back on my 450rwhp S/C Mach 1 and its holding up great .

      good clutch, not so good "kit"

      Bought this clutch since my TOB was going and thought why not and get both. Well reviews I've seen all over say that the Ram throw out bearing is junk. Didnt think much of it except when I took mine out of the box, not only was the throw out bearing not the right bearing (shape and overall appearance) but it was also broken. The back "cap" or "washer" won't stay on etc. Installed the clutch over the weekend so not like I could call or return it, my stang is a daily driver. The clucth grips like crazy, and doesn't make any noise, its stiff, but feels great. Ram just needs to make a quality TOB or not include one at all.

      Prettiest Pink Pressure Plate

      Have to say this is the prettiest pink pressure plate and clutch I ever installed. My only complaint about the whole setup is, it comes with a made in China throw out bearing. I would like to see a better TOB to come with it or none at all and offset the cost.

      stiff pedal doesnt cover it

      the clutch is the stiffest clutch ive ever felt.. ive replaced the cable and still no relief.. first chance i get it is coming out and going on the shelf.. other than that the clutch works fine as long as your leg and knee are up to the challenge.. for a daily driven car i do not recomend it, but thats just my prefference...

      Don't waste your time.

      So I installed this kit about 9 months ago or 1800 miles ago. My stang is the daily driver but my work is 7 miles away. I noticed a slight chatter 4 months into having this clutch and instantly knew it was either the throw out bearing or maybe the control arm. Anyways, the chatter got worse and worse and I eventually got around to dropping the transmission again. What I found was the throw out bearing had been completely torn in half and there was metal everywhere. I highly recommend anybody to stay away from any RAM products. After 1800 miles this is completely unacceptable and if I hadn't waited so long I would be getting my money back. I've submitted pictures to the customer photos section so you can see what your clutch will look like 2k miles in.

      Fit my mach 1 perfect

      Bought this for my 2003 Mach 1, the ram that's tagged for a Mach 1 was an 11" my Mach 1 was a 10.5" From the factory. Awesome service from AM to sort it all out at no extra cost to me. My old clutch I didn't think was bad but it's amazing how this woke it up. Never went sideways by mistake in second with my old clutch :) Thanks!!!!!

      Grabs great when going through the gears at the track!

      The clutch grabs great for my 2001 Cobra. But it does have a lot of chatter to it when your in it full throttle and i only have a stock motor with off road x-pipe with mufflers.

      I bought this item. looking for all of those reveals and I can't believe my results.. really bad choice I really disappointed with the product... I drove almost 2000 miles and still has a lot of chater.. I am very frustrated almost $800 through and the garbage

      Well worth the money!!!

      I ordered and received this clutch shortly after the order was placed (3 days, I believe). I did a lot of research on this clutch. I am impressed by the fit (my mechanic said install was a breeze, excepting some exhaust collector bolts that needed drilled). The clutch feels stiffer then stock (about 15-20%). It has just a touch of chatter when engaging from a stop, but it seems to be lessening with use. I STRONGLY Recommend replacing the stock pilot bearing (a roller bearing) with a bushing (solid bearing). My stock clutch had 102K on it, but still had plenty of life HOWEVER, when removed the stock pilot bearing was in pieces and had started to tear up the input shaft. So do yourself a favor and have a bushing put in (it'll prevent you from having to replace the input shaft which equals big money in labor and parts). Good luck and have fun!

      Listen to AM get the adjuster with the quad

      Had this clutch installed with my rebuilt transmission. To start with it would make a rattling noise while in neutral and i would get locked out of gear at high RPM. Just had a steeda quadurant installed seems to have fixed both problems.shifted 2nd to 3rd at 6800 RPM with no problem. Havent fully tested it at the track yet though.yes its a good bit stiffer but i can barely tap the clutch pedal and shift gears. Would recommend it to anyone who likes to race you will need a strong knee if you do alot of city driving though.

      Catches much stronger than stock

      Stock clutch went along with throw out bearing. Wanted a more aggressive clutch and went with the RAM clutch along with RAM flywheel after much checking. Clutch had a chattering at first going into 1st and reverse. Since doing the 500 mile break in period the chattering has gone down. When going into gear, this clutch wants to catch and get you going. Very satisfied with the clutch, but recommend getting the ford throw out bearing as the RAM bearing could not be used.

      Heavy Clutch

      I wanted a heavy duty clutch for my '04 GT. The Ram HDX product was certainly heavy duty, but it came with unacceptably heavy pedal pressure to operate it! In all other respects the clutch was excellent, and probably a good choice for some form of racing, but too heavy for the street. I think the ad copy should reflect this fact. I replaced the clutch with an OEM unit, and the Ram HDX clutch is sitting in its box at my place with 300 miles on it. It is my understanding that this did not fit your return guidelines.

        Yes, unfortunately once a clutch is opened / installed, it can not be returned. Hearing you describe this clutch as having a heavy pedal, I would recommend installing this, or any aftermarket clutch, along with a new quadrant, adjustable cable and firewall adjuster so that you can obtain the appropriate clutch engagement as well as pedal feel, which should not be stiff. Aftermarket clutches should also be installed with a matching flywheel of the same manufacturer so that the flywheel and clutch will engage properly and have the correct clearances. I am sorry to hear you had a problem with your clutch initially, but I hope these tips will help if you wish to try again next time your clutch needs replacing.
