Aggressive Sound, Better Design. This Roush Axle-Back Exhaust with Black Tips, which is exclusively designed for AmericanMuscle, will make your Ford Mustang’s exhaust sound better. It offers an aggressive sound for everyone to hear without any in-cockpit boom or drone. This drone noise is fairly common with other performance exhausts, but since drone is virtually eliminated with this system, you get to enjoy comfortable driving, no matter the cruising speeds.
Increase Power and Performance. Featuring an open-chambered muffler design and mandrel-bent tubes, this assembly offers unique maximum airflow that increases horsepower and acceleration. Enjoy faster speeds and a better throttle response with this upgrade.
Superior Quality. This axle-back exhaust not only sounds great, but also looks better than most OEM units out there. The included black round tips are engineered using 304 stainless steel and painted black. This process makes the tips impervious to cracking as well as resistant to heat color change. Meanwhile, the mufflers and inlet pipe are manufactured using 409 stainless steel for guaranteed quality and durability.
Straightforward Installation. This exhaust assembly is designed to mount to existing factory mounting points for easy and straightforward installation. It comes equipped with all the necessary hardware and instructions. The installation process is intermediate level and can be done within an hour or less.
With 3-Year Limited Warranty. This Roush exhaust comes with a 3-year limited warranty. It includes coverage for defects in materials and workmanship only. Roush will inspect and determine if the exhaust is eligible for warranty coverage.
Application. This Roush Axle-Back Exhaust with Black Tips is specifically designed to fit all 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT and 2011-2012 GT500 models.

What a Mustang should sound like!
I put these on my 2013 GT convertible after driving it for nearly a year with the stock exhausts and WOW! What a roar when you get on the gas, especially when next to other traffic! It's a bit loud on startup when cold, but calms down after about a minute at idle. If you're easy on the gas you can get out of the neighborhood at a low grumble, then let 'er rip when you hit the road. I love the raspy popping when down-shifting or coasting to a stop in gear. The rest of my exhaust system is stock so far. Install took me about two hours - jack stands and a tight fit, had to remove and re-attach the muffler hangers. The black tips are about 1-1/4" shorter (9-1/4") than the chrome tips (10-1/2"), and about one pound heavier for the pair because of the way they're constructed, and I swear they sound different (better!) from the chrome, too. (See my photos) The flat black look is a perfect complement to the rest of my blacked out trim and accents.Helpful (3)

When i got my car the exhaust was already on it paired with a resonator delete. I can't say exactly how much of a change the resonator delete did but it's definitely loud. It can be quiet if you keep it under 3k rpms but i hardly ever do that. My favorite thing about this exhaust is downshifting the crackles it makes are so aggressive. If you're looking for something raspy then this is the exhaust for you. Overall I'd definitely recommend itHelpful (1)

Roush axle back black Tips
Black tips match up beautifully. Sound from this axle back is perfect throughout the band IMO. Recommend highly. Took me about 3 hours to install but I am a novice.Helpful (0)
This states it has a "higher airflow and less back pressure". Will this result in any emission problems? For example, catalytic converter efficiency issues with check engine light being illuminated?
This will not cause a check engine light, emissions issues, or catalytic converter efficiency issues.
Referring to the little "loudness" scale, why does this show louder than the Roush Axleback with the chrome tips?
This axle-back exhaust and the Roush with the chrome tips will essentially have the same aggressive exhaust tone.
Why is this one rated in the red zone for loudness but the one with chrome tips ( https://www.americanmuscle.com/roush-axleback-2011gt.html ) is rated down in the yellow? What different about them apart from tip color that makes them louder?
Will this axle-back pass New Jersey emissions inspection ?
We recommend reaching out yo your local DMV or inspection location in regards to passing your state emissions or inspection.
Is this product the exact same as the Roush Axle-back exhaust that has silver tips? Is the color of the tips the only difference?
Unfortunately, we do not carry the cat-back system at the moment. And regarding recommendations on power increase, a mid pipe would definitely help.
I apologize, we, do not carry the tips separate from the axle back.
