Classic Style Throwback. This Scott Drake Deluxe Hood Pin Kit is the practical hood pin kit designed to give your Mustang classic racing style. This kit includes everything you need to give your vehicle the look of a street racing muscle car including lanyard assemblies, base plates, and of course the pins themselves. Unlike their vintage counterparts, these hood pins are crafted using modern manufacturing techniques to give you a look that’s both a throwback to the past and a look into the future.
Functional and Safe Design. This hood pin kit is not just for show though as this kit is designed to keep your hood closed in the event of your hood latch failing. In fact, this kit includes a unique bracket system that allows you to adjust the height of the pins to ensure these do not rattle against your hood. What’s more, the included lanyards are covered in a plastic sheath to prevent them from scratching your hood’s paint. These factors make this hood pin kit an ideal upgrade if you plan on getting into some serious racing.
Durable Build Quality. This kit features lynch and hood pins as well as base plates that are machine-formed following precise specifications from high-quality aluminum alloy. This ensures components that offer an accurate fit as well as superior durability. The included mounting brackets for their part are similarly machine-formed from heavy gauge plate steel for strength. Finally, the hood and lynchpins base plates receive a brushed finish for a classy style.
Direct Install Procedure. This kit is designed to install directly onto factory locations in your Mustang’s engine bay. You will need to drill an opening through your hood to properly fit the hood pins and the base plates. You will also need to trim out a portion of your radiator cover. Other than these steps, installation is fairly straightforward and will require just standard hand tools.
