Ideal Upgrade. Has the modding bug bit you after you bought your 2007-2010 Mustang V6? If you're going forced induction for your V6 for the big horsepower and torque gains you'll get, a SPEC Stage 2 clutch is a must-have upgrade to make sure you can put down that added power.

Perfect for Weekend Warriors. The SPEC Stage 2 Clutches are designed for all mild to moderately modified naturally aspirated and power added engines, but can be used with stock power levels without sacrificing driveability or excessive wear characteristics. They are the perfect balance of driveability and durability that makes them a great choice for 'Stangs that see a lot of time on the street as well as the strip and track.

Premium Quality. The SPEC Stage 2 Clutch combines superior holding power with the driveability you want by using premium materials. Each Stage 2 Clutch includes a high clamp pressure plate, pure Kevlar friction material and high torque sprung hub and disc assembly. Like with all SPEC Clutches, a tool kit is included for easy installation.

Value, Performance, Durability. When looking for a new clutch, trust Spec for the best in value and performance.

    Questions & Answers (1)

    1 Top Rated Question

What else do I need to replace my clutch? I am buying a clutch to put in my 2008 V6 Mustang. I was going to buy a stage 2 clutch for increased durability... Do I need any other parts to complete the replacement? I would hate to buy this and learn I need more stuff later.

    • This part requires a SPEC flywheel. Also, as a general rule, if you are installing the part as a result of a failure in your stock clutch, replace your slave cylinder or equivalent. The damage to your old clutch likely damaged the slave and it will most likely fail before too long. Save a $1000 by having installed the first time rather than paying for the install again.

I was a little shocked when this stage 2 spec clutch went on me. Broke it in the right way but it didn't last more than 50,000kms

Spec clutch did not even last 30,000 miles. I drive fast but not that hard, never been on the track. I also purchased the Spec flywheel and again in less than 30,000 miles the flywheel had so many stress cracks in it it was unusable and the replaceable friction plate was welded to the flywheel. I had to replace the flywheel. I will NEVER buy another Spec product. Don't waste your money.

Good product, the only downside is that you have to purchase the flywheel with it as well

      Spec stage 2 clutch

Installation was pretty strait forward, dropped the driveline and transition took the old cluch out and replaced it with the spec stage 2 cluch from American Muscle.

      SPEC Stage 2 Clutch

I upgraded to the SPEC Stage 2 Clutch when my stock one went out in my '09 V-6. The car now puts more power down at the pavement than it did the day I bought it. I actually have to be careful not to burn-out every time I stop now; not something I had to be conscientious of with the stock clutch. Still to soon to see, but I'll re-post with gas mileage impacts, if any. For now, however, I would say this is a great part to get.
