Hey gang, Justin from AmericanMuscle.com here with a couple of Mustang throwbacks. I’m talking about these retro 5-speed shift knobs and available for all 79-04 Mustangs, Flashy chrome shift knobs weren’t all the rage back in the 60s and 70s, chances are if you owned a Mustang or Hotrod back then you would find something similar to either this white, or black knob. Both of these knobs are CNC in a single block of either black or white resin and are not painted, therefore you don’t have to worry about them chipping or fading over the years. I noticed that some of you on the site have mentioned these knobs don’t get as hot during the summer moths thanks to that resin. Installing a new shift knob has to be one of the easiest mods to tackle on your ride. Simply unscrew your factory knob, screw on the retainer nut first then install your new retro 5-speed knobs, getting everything put on shouldn’t take you any more than 5 minutes. And I’ve noticed that some of you on the site have mentioned that once you have installed your retro 5-speed knob you have a little trouble keeping that shift boot up, well I’ve got an easy fix for that and all you need for it is a roll of electrical tape. Once you’ve got your tape all you need to do is wrap it around the top of your shifter a couple times until you have created enough of a lip to keep your factory shift boot up, see, easy and quick fix to a common problem. These shift knobs are a great way to give your ride that classic retro vibe that never goes out of style all while taking it easy on your wallet, check them out.
