Zac’s Sweepstakes Story

“When I was younger I always took interest in older cars and their unique individual characteristics. About when I was 14 I had places I would want to go but didn’t have something to get me there. That’s when I really started looking for a car that would get me there. Of course I looked at sports cars of all kinds, but without a doubt knew they were out of my price range. I was just another dreamer haha. When my brother was about 15 years old he got his first car which still to this day is his first car. It’s a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited with the 4.7L V8. Yup V8, that was when it all changed for me and I knew I had to have something with that perfect rumble of a V8. My brother had put a Flowmaster Super 44 muffler on his Jeep which really got me into the perfect sounding engine. So quickly after that I had to find something that was affordable and had a V8. My first try failed because unfortunately my parents wouldn’t let me have a sports car, so I ended up with a Pontiac G6. Although by the time I was roughly 18 I got ahold of my beautiful white Mustang GT with a V8!”

The Build

Zac got all of the work done on his car at RPM Restorations in North Canton, OH. Most of the winnings were spent on non-visible parts, but he still made sure to go with a Cobra Front Bumper complete with the necessary fog lights. Underneath the hood and drivetrain is where Zac spent most of his efforts. He chose BBK Long Tube Headers and Off-Road X-Pipe to let the beast breathe, some Comp Cams Stage 2 Xtreme Energy Camshafts, New Clutch and Flywheel, 3.55 Gears, and finally a set of Drilled & Slotted Rotors to make sure everything comes to a stop. Make sure to check out the full parts list at the bottom of the page!

Life After The Build

“Life after the build is pretty much normal, but my car is better than I ever expected it to be! I love having the car of my dreams with the sweet modifications I never thought I would’ve had. My favorite mod is definitely the Comp Cam. It definitely adds some power and even if in reality it’s not that much more HP, the sound definitely makes up for it! The idle is perfect and the throttle response is great! I kind of don’t like the long tube headers for the reason that I smell some fumes every day. I think there are some tiny holes in the exhaust work that leak. Other than that, I want to thank you all for the once in a lifetime experience! I really appreciate all the help and I appreciate AM for picking me for this amazing opportunity.”
