    The Bama Rev-X will be for the S197 V6 owners out there who are looking for an affordable tuning option to deliver not only more power, but also a little bit more torque to your 3.7L-powered V6 Mustang. Prospective buyers will be receiving two custom tunes, in addition to being enrolled into Bama's Free Tunes for Life Program, which allows users to get tune updates as your modifications grow. Now, along with the Bama tunes, owners will be receiving the latest device here, called the "Rev-X tuner" with the added benefit of cloud-based tuning, which is an industry first. Your price point is going to be right around $400 and you're looking at a simple one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter when it does come time to get these tunes loaded to your ride. Bama Performance has been doing their thing in the Mustang world for well over 10 years now, and has become one of the biggest names in the industry, thanks to combining affordable prices, great customer service, and pretty solid gains. Now, their Free Tunes for Life Program continues to be a big hit with many Mustang owners out there. Because let's face it guys. Modifications never really seem to end and with the company's program, you get a tune revision every time you add a modification, allowing you to maximize your performance. But aside from the Free Tunes for Life Program, Bama likes to deliver a couple of different tuning options, their Performance V2 and their Race V2 tunes. Now, a Performance tune is a little bit more geared towards the street. Small bump in power, a little bit better throttle response, improved shift firmness for those automatic cars. The Race tune, on the other hand, is super-aggressive and is designed for all out performance, using 93 octane or higher fuel. But without further ado, let's get into the numbers you might be able to expect on your own '11 to '14 V6 Mustang.Now, we already established a baseline run earlier using our manual 2014 V6. We then reran the car using the 93 octane Bama Race tune, and here are those results. The baseline run using our six-speed V6 gave us 245 horsepower, and 243 pound-feet of torque at the rear wheels. With that 93 octane Bama Race tune in place, the car is now making 252 horsepower, and 260 pound-feet of torque again at the rear wheels. This is good for a peak gain of 7 horsepower over those baseline numbers, and gains of as much as 18 horsepower, and 26 pound-feet of torque under the curve. All right. So even though our peak gains weren't absolutely massive with the 3.7 V6, the big story here, no doubt, were the gains made under the curve. Typically, guys, these are going to be the gains you'll feel light to light, especially between the 3,000 to 4,000 RPM range, where those big torque numbers were made. You also have to keep in mind here, gang, that Dynos will be different. Conditions will be different. So ultimately, your results might vary slightly compared to ours. However, this is just to give you a better idea of what to expect when using the Bama tuning on your own V6 at home. Now, along with these power numbers, prospective buyers can also look forward to things like improved throttle response, a nice, smooth idle, and great drivability, just to name a few, while those automatic-equipped cars can look forward to snappier shifts and a sportier feel all around. But as I pointed out earlier, this package does include two different custom tunes from the Bama Performance team, along with unlimited data log revisions to get the best experience possible. Bama also offers more in-depth tunes for things like nitrous, E85, and forced induction. But because those tunes are a little bit more involved, they are going to cost you a little bit more. But let's quickly touch on this Rev-X device here, because there is some really cool things to talk about. Now, on the surface, the Rev-X will be very similar to the X4 that you guys probably all know and love, in regards to just basic features and operation, but with one big exception and that is this new cloud-based tuning system. What does this mean for you guys? Well, instead of needing a laptop to receive your tunes from the Bama team, you're just simply going to connect the Rev-X device to a WiFi signal. It's going to prompt you to download these tunes from the cloud, and that's pretty much it. It's a nice feature for a few different reasons. First and foremost, guys, it's really going to speed up the process of not only receiving your tunes, but also loading them onto the device, in addition to not needing a computer to get you up and running, messing with emails, things like that. If you're a Mac user, well, this is a complete gamechanger, guys, because let's face it. Most aftermarket tuning devices aren't Apple-compatible. Now, for starters, you are getting the onscreen gauges and data logging capable of reading and displaying up to eight different values at one time. Some of these include things like air-fuel ratio, intake air temp, boost, coolant temp, ignition timing, just to name a few. But even though the case is a little different, the overall dimensions really haven't changed all that much. It's still roughly the same size as most smartphones out there. Complete with a three-inch, full-color LCD screen, it is configurable or viewable in two different ways. You have your Portrait mode, which is going to be the straight up and down. Or you can flip it over to its side and give you that Landscape mode. Now, on the topic of displaying this device, one thing that I actually thought was really cool about this is this little portion here on the back. It's actually magnetic. So if you have one of those cell phone holders that is magnet-based, it's going to be a great way to display the device for everyday driving. But it's also going to make it very easy to remove, toss in the glovebox or center console when needed. But in addition to all of the stuff we've already talked about so far here with the device, you can also expect some of the other greatest hits, if you will, such as your WiFi capabilities, which will allow you to download those tunes wirelessly from the cloud, like we already talked about. But it's also going to allow you to download any future firmware updates to the device without the need for the computer, again, like we already mentioned. Now, even though you are only receiving two custom tunes from the Bama Performance team, the Rev-X tuner does have the capabilities to hold up to 10 at one time. Now, of course, you will be able to read and clear those diagnostic trouble codes, better known to you guys as "check engine lights," with the Rev-X device here, in addition to returning the car to stock if you ever needed or wanted to during your time of ownership. The Rev-X does also include both your USB cable, which can be used to connect this to a laptop for data logging and things like that, in conjunction with your OBD-II cable as well, which will be used to connect the Rev-X device to your S550. Speaking of connecting this little guy to your ride here, let's get into the install briefly, using the Rev-X device. Honestly, guys, it's very straightforward. So one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, you don't even have to get your hands dirty, and maybe 30 minutes of your time to get you up and running for the very first time. This might seem pretty obvious, but I strongly recommend just following the included instructions with the Rev-X tuner, just for the initial startup, but also the basic operation. This will also help you get those tunes onto the device for the very first time. Once you have that taken care of, go ahead and plug the device into your OBD-II port, and wait for it to power on. Now, you can navigate to the Program Vehicle tab and select the tune you wish to upload. Follow those onscreen instructions and your installation is complete. Automatic transmission settings implement entirely new shift points, torque converter changes and firmness settings designed for Track use.

    Nitrous (91, 93, E85, Race Fuel) - Our nitrous option can be added to any of our previously mentioned tune options, but only for 91, 93, E85, or Race Fuel.

    Technical Note About Fuel. Use of E85 will require larger fuel injectors. Unleaded race fuel can also be used, but Stoichiometric points must be supplied.

    I'm an old guy who grew up with carburetors. Will these tunes get rid of the aggravating feel of having a bad accelerator pump in your carburetor? I installed the Pedalmax throttle enhancer which helped, but it is still annoying. When I hit the go pedal, I want to go now, not 2 seconds later. Thanks.

    • The Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT will adjust both throttle sensitivity, and delay, allowing the pedal feel to be fine tuned. BAMA will include two tunes, a performance tune which will have a nice crisp pedal, and a race tune, which will be much more aggressive, and very sensitive (we recommend this for the track only due to throttle sensitivity). In Addition, BAMA can adjust these further to your liking.

    My tuner will be arriving today. I understand that I must first update the firmware via wi-fi on the tuner, but how do I get my tune from "the cloud". I got an email saying the custom tune was ready, but not how to get it onto the actual tuner. Thanks!

    • Since your tunes are now ready you will want to go to program vehicle on the tuner. Then the tuner will ask if you would like to download tunes from the cloud.     Besides aesthetics, how is the Bama Rev-X Tuner different from the Bama X4/SF4 Tuner?

      Bama Rev-x!!! AWESOME!!!!

      I ordered the Rev-x tuner and it shipped very quickly, I got hooked up to my 2014 Mustang 3.7 right away, easily connected to my house wifi, downloaded and installed in my car in 10-15 minutes top!!! American Muscle and Bama have been awesome!! I've contacted Bama a few times to talk to them about my tune and things I would like to change, all through email, and responded very fast.

      I love this tuner. It’s pretty straight forward and easy to set up. The tune that I put on it was great! I could tell a good jump in power and torque... but the biggest area that I see improvement in is the throttle response and shifting. I would absolutely recommend this tuner to friends.

      Worst decision

      The people writing your tunes will most likely mess up your car as they did mine! I called SCT and they confirmed that the recent tune was missing a bunch of information that left my car with a messed up PCM had to wait 2 weeks before the PCM could be fixed and sent back to me!!

      Best. Decision. EVER!

      I was skeptical about this tuner. It’s a lot of money, I wasn’t sure what a tuner would really do or if the gains were really noticeable. So I bought other mods that were cheaper ans worked my way up the price range. Finally I’m here. Should I buy it? No.. maybe.. No... Ahh I’ll just click buy! So I bought it. I’ve put a cat back, CAI and a throttle Body on my car so it sounds nice and runs nice. Finally Got my tuner. Connected it, updated it, downloaded my tunes, and uploaded the 91 race tune to my car. Really easy and fast. Now when I went for the test drive I’ll tell you, I was blown away! I was so excited I couldn’t stop driving it! The throttle response was way better, just a tap on the pedal and your going. The gains are noticeable right of the bat. When you floor it and when your changing gears you feel the car literally pull you and then it jumps as you go In to the next gear and it just gets better from there! It makes your car sound way better with your added mods and fair warning, More power equals more gas. Sooo mpg goes down a lot but you can switch it back to stock if you want to save gas but you know you won’t change it back after feeling the difference lol Great buy if you’ve added mods that change the air to fuel ratio. It really makes a HUGE difference. I highly recommend this to anyone! Best part if you buy it and your car is stock, you can update every time you get a new mod. They’ll just upload it to your device’s cloud So you can download it and load into your car right away!

      Great tuner and tune.

      I have a 2012 v6 convertible with a manual transmission. While I was very satisfied with the stock engines top end power, but the throttle response and low end torque were lacking to say the least. I ordered the 91 performance tune and 93 race tune to try to rectify this. The tuner and tunes came within 2 days of my order. I loaded the 91 tune for the first week, and it really helped the throttle response, low end and mid range power. I was very satisfied. Then I loaded the 93 race tune, and it was even better. It pulls much harder now and 6th gear is actually usable on the highway. My only complaint is that sct tuners are not Mac compatible and there were cloud issues when I initially placed my order so while the tunes were ready quickly, they weren’t available on the cloud right away. I am impatient, so I went to Best Buy’s and bought the cheapest windows based laptop they sell as I only have Mac based computers have decided to use it as a dedicated tuning and data logging laptop. I just wish sct software was Mac compatible, as it would have saved me $150. If the software was Mac compatible and/or the cloud downloads were available right away, it would have been 5 out of 5.

      Noticeable improvement.

      While I don't feel 18 or 20 HP and 20 odd ft/lbs on gain in torque, (might be what you get on a race tune at 93 octane) I do feel a bit of extra zip in take-off and definitely more in mid-range rpm (2000-4000). It also adds a bit of bark to the exhaust, esp. when coming down off the revs. Makes me want new axle backs, so I can more enjoy the sound.

      Nice Tuner

      Nice Tuner that's super easy to use. I love the WiFi feature and not needing my laptop. I didn't notice a huge difference with the 91 performance tune, but I am also not running a large amount of performance upgrades. Car is running better and does seem more responsive on the throttle.

      93 race tune

      The Bama custom 93 race tune is definitely worth the money. The 3.7 was a little sluggish when in other gears besides first gear. Now second and third gear pull much harder and throttle response all around is a lot better. Definitely a must buy if you have a v6.

      Good Toy!

      As long as your expectations are reasonable (not expecting 50hp gains or anything like that) you'll be very happy with the custom tunes from Bama. The throttle is more responsive and there is definitely a nice little kick in the seat at about 3k rpm. I'm looking forward to getting the 3.55 gears I ordered with the tuner installed so I can enjoy even more responsiveness. The device is just a way to install the tunes, so in and of itself it's nothing special.

      Great Tuner

      We've increased our cars performance using race tunes and this tuner. Both of our elapsed ¼ mile times have been reduced by ¾ of a second to a full second quicker.

      ease of use

      Really easy to use, customer service was great. The tunes for life program is a great way to go, especially if you are just trying to "clean up" your response and squeeze a bit more out of just for fun build.
