        More Horsepower and Torque. Improve the performance of your DOHC 4.6L Mustang with a set of BBK Long Tube Headers. These BBK chrome headers will greatly improve your Mustangs exhaust flow over the restrictive stock manifolds and increase your Pony's horsepower and torque. Increases of up to 22 RWHP have been seen when installed with a BBK shorty Mid Pipe.

        Quality BBK Construction. BBK Long Tube Exhaust headers are manufactured from 1-5/8" CNC mandrel bent tubing for unrestricted airflow. And feature one piece laser cut 3/8" header flanges for added strength, leak-free performance and OEM fit. These headers are then completed in a bright chrome finish for great muscle car looks and a long life.

        Recommended Upgrade. To realize the full power potential that these Long Tube Headers have to offer, AmericanMuscle recommends a custom tune with either a SCT SF4 or Diablosport InTune Custom Tuner.

        Application. These Chrome Long Tube Headers are designed to fit the 1996 to 1998 SVT Cobra Mustangs equipped with a manual transmission. BBK long tube headers require a flanged end shorty midpipe in order to function properly. BBK recommends using a BBK shorty H or X-Pipe for the best performance gains. 

        Please Note. 1998 SVT Cobras will require modification to driver side emissions tube for proper installation.

        Technical notes. Not legal for use on pollution controlled motor vehicles; intended for off road use only. A BBK shorty Mid Pipe is required for installation.

        Ground clearance I realize everyone has a different ride height (mine's still stock) so how many inches below the oil pan (or other section) do these headers hang? This is for a cobra motor I have that will be put into my GT at a later date.

        • I have a set of these on my 98 Cobra with turbocharger. Never have had a problem at all with clearance but I do "carefully" watch the speed bumps.

          Could be great

          The motor was out of my Car and Still I Had some issues with installation do to design issues of the headers them selves. There were a few bold wholes that were very very tight and had to properly fasten the bolts down to the head also I had to cut a few bolt to fit them in Properly and not to cross thread. Seems as Thoe it should just come with a few bolts that are 1/4” shorter than the rest. Motor went back in smoothly had to disconnect steering rack to and save for the larger headers Other than that packaging was good they look good and sounds great

          Fitment not to good

          these re advertised for the 96-98 cobra but should be for the 96-97 cobra as the emissions fittings are in different locations than on the 98. I have a 98 so the emissions tubes had to be modified in order to fit.

          Returned it!

          There was surface rust when I first got it ..and I kept hearing lots of good things about the ceramic so I swapped it for that ! Spend $100 more for the ceramic it's worth it !

          These headers fit without having to dent any tubes, or cutting anything! The sound is amazing and they look great too!!
