Hey, guys. Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today we're taking a really quick look at and installing the headlight covers in the smoked finish fitting all '08 to '14 Challengers. This is definitely for the guys who don't wanna break out the big bucks for a full set of smoked headlights but instead want a smoked, really stealthy and aggressive front end at a really affordable price tag. These headlight covers are an absolute perfect fit for your dual headlights here at the front end of any '08 to '14 Challenger. It fills that entire section on both sides of the grille to almost make it look like it's a one-piece design. It's a really dark smoked composite acrylic material. It's a really, really high-quality plastic that's honestly pretty flexible. I like that it's flexible because it means it's a little more forgiving. If the front end was gonna take a hit from some rocks or debris being kicked up by the vehicle in front of you, instead of it just hitting and shattering, it's gonna flex and bend with those impacts. So, impact resistance is huge here. It's definitely gonna last a long time on your front end. And as far as the smoked finish goes, it's obviously a lot darker than some of the tinted or smoked headlights you see out in the aftermarket. So, it's something that's gonna give you a really stealthy, almost "Knight Rider" look to the front end of your Challenger. Now, the nice thing about this too is it's removable. It's gonna go on using 3M Dual-Lock technology, which is basically two little circles that lock in together, and the backside of one Ace 3M tape. Now, the 3M automotive bonding tape is specifically made for the exterior of vehicles. So, when applied properly, it can be on there for the long haul. It's not gonna fly off on the highway as long as you clean it properly. Now, that dual lock technology means that when you stick these guys on, you can easily pull it off. The dual lock technology will disconnect, you can clean the headlights underneath of it and you can snap it right back on. The 3M brackets or the 3M Dual-Lock on the other side will stay on the vehicle so it snaps right back on.Now, this particular kit here comes as a pair, of course, for the driver and passenger's side, and it's gonna cost right around 75 bucks. Again, a lot more affordable than a full headlight replacement. And it's honestly pretty affordable compared to some of the exterior tints that you might get from a professional tint shop if you were to apply some tint or vinyl to the outside of your factory headlights. Now, in terms of light visibility, it's still gonna let through a lot of light at night. So, it's still a safe bet. I will admit it's not gonna be as much light as the headlights would put out without the cover on, but I think that's pretty obvious. If you're concerned about light output, there's no shame picking up a new set of upgraded bulbs like LEDs, for example, to upgrade the factory bulbs to something a lot brighter and more attractive to keep it safe. Now, the install obviously gets one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. It's gonna take you about 10 minutes from start to finish to get these installed because really all it is, is cleaning off the area it sticks to, peeling off the 3M, and sticking it on. It's as easy as that. With that said, guys, I'm gonna walk you through the whole process, and then I'll show you how to peel it off and stick it back on. What do you say we get started? The only thing needed for this install is an alcohol wipe.First step of the install is actually to grab alcohol wipe. This is something I definitely recommend for the guys at home who wanna make sure that this stays on and doesn't fly off on the highway. Cleaning is extremely important. Grab an alcohol wipe or a soap and water mixture and a squirt bottle with a microfiber. I think this is easier. And you're just gonna wipe off the plastic trim around your factory headlights. You're gonna clean off exactly where the little 3M dots are gonna stick on, that way they don't come off when you don't want them to. So, I'm gonna peel off this guy. I have a little alcohol wipe, let's get to cleaning. All right. So, we know that there's gonna be three dots on the bottom, one in the corner, one in the middle, and one on the side. So, I'm gonna just wipe that guy down and make sure we're getting rid of all the dirt and dust that would prohibit a really good bond with the 3... I'm just gonna clean off the inside too just to make it nice in there. And then from the middle, you're gonna go up and hit the top section. And from the side here, you're gonna go open at the top. There isn't gonna be one at the top here in this little angle section, but we do have to clean off the rest of it.And now that that's clean, let that alcohol dry. And now we can install the cover. Peel off the red stickers on the back of the 3M. I'm just gonna do all of them. And you're gonna use this angular corner to help line everything up. Use that side along with the bottom here. And you're basically just gonna stick it into place. It is a good idea to make sure that the inside of this is clean. So, I'm just taking the residue on that alcohol wipe and I'm just gonna go around this guy. All right. So, now we can line this guy up. It's gonna hug the edge of the grille there. It's gonna be a really nice, tight fit. Put pressure on each of the 3M tape spots, making sure that they stick. Repeat that exact same process on the other side. This is removable, so if at any point you wanna pull this guy off to clean it properly, or if you just wanna pull it off so you can go through a carwash and clean off the lenses on your headlights, all you have to do is push down here on the bottom and it's gonna pop this corner out, you can get up under it and pull off. Each of those 3M tape little pods are gonna stick to that trim around the headlight. It's not necessarily Velcro, it's more of a snappier, almost Lego-like connection that it makes with these 3M tape circles. So, you can pull that off full access and clean it off. And then when you're ready, pop it back on. There you have it.That's gonna wrap up my review and install for the headlight covers in the smoked finish for the '08 to '14 Challenger. If you're looking for a way to get a stealthy front end without picking up a full set of headlight replacements with smoked lenses, these headlight covers in the smoked finish are a great way to go.
