      Hey, guys. I'm Eric with AmericanMuscle. And as you just saw and heard, we're checking out the Flowmaster FlowFX Axle-Back Exhaust with Black Tips, fitting all 2005 to 2010 Ford Mustang GTs and GT 500s. Now, right off the bat, I would rate this exhaust at a four out of five on our loudness meter. You're definitely getting a huge upgrade in sound, aggressive tone, and some deep burble there from Flowmaster with this kit. And I got to say it's also gonna be ever-present with you as you're driving down the road. Even when we upshift it into overdrive and we're just cruising down the road, there is a steady sound coming from these pipes to the interior of the car.Now, I'm not saying it's an unpleasant sound, but it's always present. And when you really get on it, downshift, and bring the revs up, that's when this exhaust really comes to life. And I had a lot of fun running it through the gears, both accelerating and decelerating. When you're kind of decelerating down and bringing the gears down to third, second gear, kind of has a nice pleasant burble as the RPMs are coming down. Really a pleasant tone. Overall, I would not call it a drone, but I would say ever-present but much louder and aggressive.Now, this is a pretty straightforward kit, guys. It is basically axle-back, so all we're doing is basically replacing the factory mufflers. And all that upgrade in the more aggressive tone to this exhaust is coming from the fact that these mufflers are about 1/3 the size of your factory pipe. So, you have a lot less baffling material that you're working with here. So, a much more free-flowing exhaust that's gonna have better throttle response. I did notice that out on our road test. Manufacturer also says you might see a slight boost in power as well from that free-flowing exhaust. Just to run over some quick specs with you, Flowmaster uses top quality 409 stainless where it connects up to the factory exhaust all the way back here to the tip. And you have 3-inch tubing from there to here and that opens up to a 4.5-inch slash cut right here with this black tip that's top-shelf 304 stainless. So, you're not gonna have to worry about corrosion or any kind of rust for years to come with this kit.Now, as far as the price is concerned, you can pick up this kit for right around $350. I think that's pretty reasonable considering the upgrade in exhaust note that you're gonna get with this. Not to mention, the top-shelf quality materials that Flowmaster uses to put it together. As far as the installation goes, guys, it is as about as easy as it comes. One out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. It's gonna have a total of eight bolts and two clamps are all you're gonna have to work with here to swap out these new pipes for your factory mufflers. Give yourself about an hour to get the job done from start to finish. So, let's take a look at a couple of tools you're gonna need and I'll show you the installation.All right, guys, tools we're gonna use for this install include an electric impact wrench, a swivel socket, a pair of 1/2-inch sockets, 13 and 15-millimeter sockets, and a 1/4-inch hand socket.All right, guys, now to get started, we're going to loosen the clamp up here near the axle. And then we're actually going to undo the bolts that are attaching the brackets for the hangers to the car so that the hangers can actually come with the muffler when we pull it off. A lot easier than trying to pull these hangers out, which I don't think we could probably do. So, let's go ahead and get started. Go ahead and grab a 15-millimeter socket. All right, guys, now, we're gonna take out this bolt right here that's holding our hanger bracket to the car. You're gonna need a 1/2-inch socket for this. I also have a swivel socket attached because it's kind of tight up in here. All right, guys, now we're gonna do this bolt right here. Again, 1/2-inch socket. And as you undo this one, be prepared to support the end of your exhaust here.All right, guys, now, we're gonna go after this bolt right here using a 13-mill socket or if you have a 1/2-inch socket it should fit on there as well. We're gonna use a small 1/4-inch drive or if you have a ratcheting wrench that's short enough to clear the sway bar end link over here. All right, guys, now we're gonna go for this bolt up here. Same size socket. All right, guys, now we pulled our passenger side muffler off of our vehicle, I want to throw it up here on the table and do a quick side-by-side comparison. Factory Mustang muffler versus the new Flowmaster FlowFX muffler we're gonna be putting on our GT.Now, really, the huge difference here is the lack of muffler. I mean that's the striking difference. You're dealing with about 1/3 of the amount of baffling material that you get in a factory muffler. I mean just look at that size differential. Much smaller canister is straight flow through that's gonna get better flow through, better exhaust flow, and that should result in better throttle response maybe even a little bit of a power boost to your GT.And also, of course, that is where that very characteristic Flowmaster aggressive exhaust node is gonna come from. And if you're also looking to dress up the rear end a little bit here, you're getting premium-grade stainless steel in this kit, 409 here, 304 out here at the black tip. And if you have an older vehicle, maybe you have some corrosion going on, some road rush, whatever, this is also gonna dress up the rear end quite nicely. So, let's go ahead and continue with the install.All right, guys, real quick, we just need to transfer over our hanger isolators and brackets over to the new pipe. So, just slide off and just make sure you're getting the proper orientation, same as we pulled it off, for your new Flowmaster muffler. And we'll go ahead and get them out of there. All right, guys, with your new pipe, go ahead and start clamp from the kit over your Flowmaster pipe. We're gonna get that started first. And I've got one bolt at the ready, we're gonna go ahead and start a bolt up here on this bracket just to help hold up this pipe in place while we tighten everything else up.We're gonna leave that a little bit loose for right now, guys, so we can manipulate things and get everything properly fitted before we tighten everything up. All right, guys, now, we have all four of our bolts started, we're gonna go ahead and tighten them up using a 1/2-inch socket. All right, guys, now, with a 15-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten up your new Flowmaster clamp. And go ahead and repeat all these steps on the driver side.All right, guys, that wraps up this review and install of this Flowmaster FlowFX Axle-Back Exhaust with Black Tips, fitting all 2005 to 2010 Ford Mustang GTs and GT 500s.
