    Review & Install Video

Hey I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and this is my brief look into the Flowmaster Outlaw series axle back, fitting all 2013 Mustang GTs, and GT500's. If you're looking for a system that will really allow your 5.0 or 5.8L to be heard, then this is it, Flowmaster calls this their most aggressive axle back available for the new V8's, thanks to the two Outlaw series straight through mufflers, that should really help uncork the exhaust flow. Like many other Flowmaster exhaust, the Outlaw series is constructed using durable 409 grade stainless steel, and does feature 2.5" mandrel bent tubing. The exhaust is also finished off in that sleek black finish, which is great at resisting corrosion. Finally, everything exits out these dual 4" tips embossed with that iconic Flowmaster logo. Installation on this axle back is very straightforward and should only take you about an hour in the driveway using basic hand tools. Now let's hear how Flowmaster's Outlaw series axle back sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Super Aggressive Flowmaster Sound. Give your Coyote powered Mustang that unmistakable Flowmaster sound with the Outlaw Series Axle-Back Exhaust System from AmericanMuscle. This system improves exhaust flow using Flowmaster's race-oriented style Outlaw mufflers for that super, aggressive exhaust note your high powered Pony deserves.

Stainless Steel Construction. Constructed from durable 2.75" 16 gauge 409 stainless steel tubing for it's corrosion resistant properties, the Flowmaster Outlaw Axle-back features two race-oriented mufflers with massive 4.0" diameter polished stainless steel tips for impressive muscle car looks and sound. As an added bonus the tips are embossed with the "Flowmaster" logo for true custom styling.

Application. This Flowmaster Outlaw Series Axle-Back Exhaust System is designed to fit the 2013-2014 GT and BOSS Mustangs for both great looks and great sound. Reuses the factory clamps for installation.

I have a 2010 v6mustang I know the piping is 2.5 with stock but can I get a bigger pipe as well so it fits the 2.75 cause these sound so amazing and I really want to run them

    • Yes you are able to fabricate the exhaust to work together if you do not mind doing a little custom work, however as a heads up these will not sound the same on your V6 as they do on a Mustang GT.

      Awesome sounding!!

These axle back's are awesome. I'm old school, I love me a loud exhaust with tons of drone. The exhaust note is perfect at 2K and above rpm.

      Great sound

Very agreasive sound. Alot louder than I expected. There is some drone at 3k - 3.5k rpm if your doing 70-80 just drop it in 5th to avoid the drone. Overall I couldn't be happier

      Great!

I love them. They give off the loudness and tone I was looking for. There is a slight drone around 2000 rpms, but you get used to it.

My car is sickeningly loud now! I love drone and I get plenty of it. I've installed Flowmasters on each of my last 3 Mustangs and they never disappoint. I'm going to get thrown in jail for noise pollution one day!

      These are awesome!

Just installed these on my 2014 GT. They sound terrific! If you are looking to upgrade your stock exhaust I highly recommend the Flowmaster Outlaw Axle-back. My neighbors do not need to set their alarm clocks in the morning anymore. The sound when you start up is awesome not to mention when you give your GT a little gas.

      So mean

Hey all, I installed these the day after I brought my 13 GT home and let me tell you... it woke up the sound of that 5 liter V8 so much! And for such an easy install it really increased the volume of sound and presence! Almost as loud with just mufflers as my 98 gt was with headers, OR x pipe and flowmaster 40 series! Worth every penny!

Drone at around 2k but sitting idle it has a good deep growl and once you break 2krpm it wakes the neighbors up.

      Sounds great.

Couldn't find an exact installation video, but as easy as this is to install it's not exactly needed. Hardest part is getting the stock mufflers off. All in all, done in a drive way with a jack and jackstands took about two hours with hand tools. Sounds great, makes every cold start, underpass, and heavy pulls worth it. Not so loud the neighbors will be complaining, but loud enough that you'll break necks. Slight drone around cruising speeds, enough that it's noticeable, but if you're worried about drone you shouldn't be touching your exhaust anyways. Sounds way better than Roush's Axle Backs in person.

      Rumble coyote rumble

These are awesome!! Deep rumble at lower rpms and screams when you open her up. I giggled like a child when i started the car after installing these. Others complained about the drone but I don’t think they’re bad at all. There’s a little between 60-70 mph in 6th gear cruising but not as bad as others described. Highly recommend to all.

      Amazing Sound and Price!

I had the same exhaust on my previous 06 GT and now I decided to do the same on my 14 GT/CS and this is BY FAR my favorite exhaust in the market. Priced just right. Excellent quality. Very aggressive especially with a resonator delete. I turn heads everytime I’m out and always get complimented on how mean it sounds. You will not be disappointed at all! Really brings the car to life. And fast and free shipping! Great job AM and Flowmaster

Makes a deep tone rumble, Really brings that 5.0 to life. Around 2k rpm it gets really noisy but you’ll get used to it. Overall 5/5 in my book

      First Purchase

Typically I do muffler deletes but since this is my new baby; a 13GT in gotta have it green, I decided to not take a saw to the car. I wanted the loud an abnoxious exhaust and from reviews and videos, the outlaw was the right choice. Installation was easy and straight forward for being the first time under a Ford product. The exhaust at a low rpm is a nice sound track. Towards mid rpm I hear a hint of "boxer" coming from the exhaust but hopefully that changes with xpipe further down the line. I lost some back pressure which can be expected. For a week I switched back to the stock mufflers for the harder pull but found myself wanting that v8 soundtrack again. I enjoy standing out from the stock mustangs. First install took about 2.5 hours on a floor jack due to complications with the stock welding band/clamp. Vice grips and bending the metal back/forth till it broke off fixed the issue.

Not as loud as everyone says!

I just installed these on my 2014 mustang GT and they sound great. If you still have stock cats and resonators these are actually pretty tame volume wise. I don't know why everyone is saying they are so loud and drone so bad. I was hesitant to buy them after reading all the reviews but I can assure you that these are not offensive as far as the volume goes. When just cruising in the city it makes some noise when you're accelerating just like you'd expect and when you're just cruising you can barely hear the quiet rumble they make. My main complaint about these is they seem to be just a muffler delete basically so why pay $400 for this when I could have just paid 80 at the muffler shop for a muffler delete? I started the car with no mufflers after taking my other ones off and it sounded the about the same as it does with the outlaws from what I could tell. I guess the only good thing about having these is if you ever did get in trouble for noise you could still say you have mufflers, I guess? However, I can't see anyone ever getting in trouble with the law with these cause it's not that loud. I'd actually like them to be a bit louder! Install wasn't too bad the easiest way to do it is completely unbolt the rubber hanger brackets from the car, slip them on the mufflers and then attach them back to the car with the mufflers already attached to them.
