Is this a bolt on or weld on installation

Will this exhaust still pass emissions (Connecticut)? I've never done any modifications and want to make sure the car is still legal.

        • The Magnaflow Dual Competition Cat-Back Exhaust does not alter or modify the factory catalytic converters, so your emissions will be unchanged. The installation of this exhaust should not change your emission output, and you should pass your state emissions.

what headers will go great with this and what headers will go great with this and do I have to make a cut out for the exhaust if I buy the magnaflow dual catback exhaust or could I just install them as is on my stock 2009 v6

        • I installed this exhaust on my 2007 v6, it was very easy to install yourself and as for the bumper, I made a small cut to match the other side until I can afford a new bumper. Very easy to do. As for headers, I installed these ones: Easy to put them on, just hard to get the old ones off.

            Pretty good

I bought this to switch from the single flow master exhaust/muffler. It wasn’t as loud as I’d thought it was going to be but it is much deeper and sounds a lot better. Figment wasn’t very great the pipes had to be bent a little but after that the exhaust sounded amazing

            Honest Review

This exhaust system isn't what I expected. I read reviews of people saying that this exhaust sounds like a v8 which isn't true. It does sound better than the stock but its not a huge difference. Maybe its only the 210 Hp that your car makes or that I had open headers for a couple of hours before installing the MF exhaust and I just got use to the open headers sound. But I think there are better sounding exhaust you should get instead. Try looking around more before buying this exhaust. Maybe try to get a true dual exhaust with an X-pipe or H-pipe instead of this Y-pipe if you really want a loud, good sound exhaust system.

            Overall Great Product!

I choose this exhaust because of the Magnaflow name and took it to my local shop for instal. Took 4 hours to instal but no issues and looks amazing. The sound is deep like a v8 but not so loud that your neighbors will hate you. I had a straight pipe before hand so I will say nothing will be as loud as a straight pipe but you lose all your torque because of it. This exhaust is a great middle ground for someone who wants the rumble of a v8 without the extreme loudness in the lower rpms. It gets loud around 3500 rpms anything under is just rumble. Overall very pleased and can feel a slight torque gain as well.

Fit was just right and the the appearance of the tail pipes are out standing, the only thing that I did different from the instructions was I welded the pipes except for the y-pipe.

Not the best but one of the better Exhausts

I would say this exhaust system is one lf the better ones for your V6 if you’re looking to add sound although you only get that V8 sound till about 3.5k rpms everything before that is a bit raspy but 100 louder then stock. Other then that i think this is a great system and can really get that V8 sound with some other mods along with this exhaust system

            Sound is Sick!

I agree with most on this page that the exhaust sounds better than any stock v8. Love the rumble it makes when you accelerate. It's drone sound gets really loud at about 2.5 - 3 RPMs. The install took me 4 hours only because I had trouble removing the stock pipe (low clearance under car). TIP: Your stock v6 muffler comes with two hanger mounts. You can remove the one closest to the bumper and relocate it on the driver side. DO NOT buy the hanger mounts on here! The rubber mount on one of them broke in 1 day. The rubber on the stock hanger mounts are thicker and look more durable.

Great product... gave 4 stars because

The y adapter isn’t that great, I’m going to put an h pipe on it I should have just went that route to begin with. But the benefit of buying this is the Magnaflow axle backs are sexy! That nice chrome finish, and great over axle pipes. Car is much louder but a minor fitment issues due to y adapter portion. The bumper cutout was quite easy if you just measure the passenger side and go from there. Mine is lined up almost perfectly and looks great! I just used a sawzall

            Fit Could Be Better

While I love the sound of this kit I did find that the fit on my 2005 V6 could have been better. My pro installer also expected better because of the Magnaflow name. He had to modify hangers and it sits just a tad low out of the bumper exhaust notches - the best he could could get it. It's not bad (barely noticable) but not perfect. I do like the sound alot. It's not overbearing or obnoxious - just right. I'd give it 5 stars had it fit better. It took an hour for the install.

            Love the look

Not as loud as i thought it would be, not loud at all. But does have a good v8 sound on my v6. But the power is very noticeable without a tune. Needed to replace my single flowmaster muffler and wanted this mostly for cosmetic look and performance. Looks awesome. Did not fit right, had to bend pipes to make it look even. No sleeve to fix attach, had to make one out of pipe. Overall im pleased, hopefully no rust for atleast 2 years

            DO NOT BUY

DO NOT BUY THIS EXHAUST KIT. IT SOUNDS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL. It is higher pitched tone than when i had simply no muffler. It sounds just awful and does not help performance one bit. It took professionals 2 hours to install because of fitment.

Magnaflow Dual Competition VS. Pypes Mid Muffler.

I want to start off by saying that I have had the Magnaflow Dual setup on my Mustang for over a month now. I can't be happier. When I first did my research on dual exhaust I tried and tried to look for videos and online reviews. Well if you are like me you probably didn't have much luck. I heard both exhausts in person. Both kits are good but in terms of "loudness" they each have their unique tone. I have to admit Pypes is much louder but it comes with that annoying popping sound that ricer cars have. Which to me is not pleasing. The maganaflow has a deep rumble when you are going into the 2-3 rpm range. On highway you are still hearing that low rumble as well which is amazing. I only have one advice to anyone getting either of these kits. GET THE BAMA TUNER. ITS A MUST HAVE. I had the kit before and after the tuner. Man when I first pressed on that gas pedal after the race tune I flew back into my seat and my entire neighborhood was filled with the rumble noise. I am very pleased with this kit I wouldn't change it for pypes even though they have a better value deal.

            Good sound, great look

I had this cat-back setup for almost 8 years. Generally I like the exhaust note in the low RPM rage (below 3k) and it looks fantastic. However, at WOT it sounds a bit ricey to me. I'm using the stock Y-pipe to Y-pipe connection and experienced a drone for as long as I can remember. It drives my passenger's crazy and my neighbors always know when I'm coming and going. So if one of your goals is to annoy everyone, then look no further. Otherwise there are kits with better sound than this.

            V8 Sound for your V6

My dad got me this as a christmas and birthday present, since they are close, and we installed it and when I turned my car on. It was probably one of the happiest moments of my life. It completely changed the sound of my v6 mustang and made it so awesome and loud. Plus we were in the garage so it sounded even louder. Your going to love parking garages with this exhaust. Also it looks cool coming out the back, as opposed to the ugly stock exhaust. Buy it!
