SO happy with this exhaust
Went with the street version rather than the race. I'm not looking to be obnoxious to my neighbors. Those same neighbors, immediately noticed the difference and were as impressed as I! Installation was very easy, made easier by the fact I found a shop that let me use their lift. Everything fit well. I had the stock system out and the new system in place in less than 30 minutes. Looks great, and the sound matches the performance. Totally worth it.Helpful (1)

Nice rumble, next to no idle drone
Sounds great. Gives a nice hum when you accelerate but no annoying drone for highway drives. Cold start sounds nice and after a few minutes the drone is almost silent. Nice for the early mornings. Only problem with the install was the connection point of the exhaust and the cat. The pipes were the same size. They neglect to give you any connections and tell you to reuse the factory clamp when you remove the stock exhaust. This can’t be done. Connecting two pipes of the same size with nothing connecting could cause a leak. Was forced to add a small piece of pipe and weld it all together. No going back now !Helpful (0)

MBRP Black Series Exhaust Purchase review
Great product, adds not only a more aggressive mustang sounding note to an ecoboost but also adds to the car appearance wiseHelpful (0)

Had some issues with my order but they were resolved quick. This exhaust is perfect for someone who daily drives and does not want much to any drone. Very low and deep at ideal. Perfectly balanced exhaust in my opinion.Helpful (0)

ITS SO GOOD
It’s very loud and performs very well. It caused a more aggressive take-off for my car, and has a nice crackle to it during the cold months. It’s hard to believe it’s just a 4-cylinder with this exhaust installed!Helpful (0)

Way better than what I thought it would be. Catches me off guard every cold start. Quick install as well. In and out in under an hour while using a local shops lift.Helpful (0)

Best ecoboost catback
I’ve had it installed less than a week and I’ve already had people ask if it’s a 6 or 8 cylinder, not knowing it’s an ecoboost. Sounds good when idle, nice crackle when you let up off the gas. Added this and my CAI same time. Noticeable power difference. Feels like a brand new carHelpful (0)

If you want to give your mustang some sound and really bring it to life with a nice aggressive sound when you step on the gas this is definitely for you. I really noticed a difference when I put the my mustang in sport mode vs drive. Overall it is definitely worth the money.Helpful (0)
What's the difference in the mbrp "street" catback and the "race" fatback exhaust systems?
The race has more aggressive of a tone than the street.
Hi will this fit my 2018 Mustang ecoboost soft top covertable?
This does not fit convertible models.
I just installed the MBRP Black Series Exhausts on my Eco Boost last week. They sound incredible, now I want to install a CAI would anyone recommend the Roush CAI for this car
The Roush cold air intake would be a great pairing for your Ecoboost! You can find that cold air intake here: https://www.americanmuscle.com/2015-mustang-cold-air-intakes.html#shop-by3
How loud is this exhaust inside the car? More specifically I'm worried about drone when I'm in 6th gear doing 70 on the highway. Thanks!
This MBRP Street cat-back is one will not be as loud as some of the other cat-back exhaust options that we offer. With that being said, there has been very minimal droning if any at all. Please check out some customer reviews to see what others who have purchased this exhaust are saying about it!
Hi, recently installed this on my ecoboost. A check engine light appears, any idea why and do I need a tune ?
If a check engine light is appearing, we would strong advise to have the vehicle checked over by a shop first to diagnose the issue.
This is a direct bolt on, so nothing else will be needed.
We do not have this information on hand so we suggest to speak with your local ordinances to be safe.
Mustangs with active exhaust systems have a valve that will open and close to adjust the sound volume of you mustang with the active exhaust switch that is found in the interior.
None of the exhausts have been decibel tested as of the time of this answer.
The difference between the street and race exhaust would be the tone and the volume of each. The Race would have a bit more aggressive tone and would also be louder than the street exhaust.
We recommend confirming with your state ordinances or a local shop as it can vary per state.
This MBRP Black Series Cat-Back Exhaust w/ Y-Pipe is only intended for installation on the 15'-17' Ecoboost Fastback Mustangs. This will not fit properly on the convertible model due to the position of the subframe.
We offer numerous cat-backs that are compatible with your convertible Ecoboost. All of our Flowmaster, Magnaflow, Kooks, and RTR Cat-backs will fit convertible models, as well as a number of our Ford Performance Cat-Back Exhausts.
This MBRP cat-back exhaust is designed to work with 15-18 EcoBoost fastback models only and will not fit convertible models due to different bracing.
