    Review & Install Video

Hey, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my quick breakdown of the dual LED halo chrome projector headlights, fitting '99 to '04 Mustangs. These headlights feature an updated modern styling for New Edge Mustangs, which includes chrome housings, clear lenses, a projector-style light, an LED halo, and accent lighting. The halos create a totally different, more exotic look for your Mustang, but the addition of the three white LEDs just takes the styling a step further. You can check out a few pictures of these headlights on customer cars by heading back to the Product page at AmericanMuscle.com, if you're catching this video from some place other than the website. They are a direct replacement, which means that they will fit perfectly into the stock location for a sleek and clean, factory-like appearance that blends nicely into the lines of your New Edge, all while setting it apart from other 'Stangs. Thanks to the design of the New Edge Mustang headlights, removal and installation of the housing itself is a quick and simple task that anyone should be able to accomplish with ease. However, you will need to splice in the halos and the LED lighting into your parking lights, using the quick-splice connectors that are provided for you. Doing all of this should require about 45 minutes. The headlights even come with a set of high and low-beam bulbs, so you do not have to worry about finding replacements yourself. I would recommend sealing the headlights with silicone prior to the installation. If you run into any issues, or have any questions about the product or the install, you guys know that you can always reach out to one of our many Mustang experts for assistance. If you are looking to change up the looks of your New Edge Mustang, and you want a little touch of modern styling, then be sure to check out a set of chrome projector headlights with dual LED halos, right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Updated Modern Styling. Add updated modern styling to your 1999-2004 New Edge Mustang with a set of Axial Chrome Projector Headlights that feature dual LED Halos and LED accent lighting for a clean yet exotic appearance. Superior Lighting. The projector lenses light up the road ahead with a bright focused beam of light that not only looks great, but improves your night visibility. The LED Halo and accent lights give an exotic flair to your Mustang that sets it apart from the rest of the herd.

Meets DOT Requirements. A set of Axial Chrome Dual LED Halo Projector Headlights not only improve the appearance of your Mustang, but they also meet or exceed the strict guidelines set forth by the U.S. Department of transportation (DOT) making them legal for street use.

Reading the customer reviews, as late as May 2015 people are commenting of the poor/incorrect installation instructions. Is AM doing anything about this for those who don't have the diagnostic skills as some of the commenters?

        • Even if the instructions that come with the lights are bad AM has a guide with pictures making the install pretty simple

Installed these recently , my halo ring is blue color while my low beams are yellow . Did I wire something wrong ?

        • This would be correct. The low beam bulb provided will not be a blueish color and will be the factory yellowish color.

            Beautiful and Intimidating Appearance

These headlights look amazing and clean with the chrome inside. Very satisfying and I can't help but gaze at them every time I go to drive my car. Sealing them with silicone is a must. The instructions that come with them are not very detailed and are not even for the same model headlights it seemed so do not rely on those if you are a beginner. Other than that they are great!

            Decent headlights.

Like others have said instructions are worthless. I tested the leads and found the positive and negative. I attached all the white wires to the positive and all the black to negative. If you just attach them to the connector that’s on the actual headlight instead of the cars connector you will still be able to remove the headlight. For mine I used the blue wire for positive and the middle black wire for negative. Both bulbs are h1 so not sure how one is brighter than the other, the only downside is you can’t put led or hid bulbs on these because they sealed off where the bulb installs so you’re left with these sweet halos and a dull yellow headlight. Other than that super easy install and looks way better.

Overall they look good on the outside. Weather resistant silicone isnt great on the edges. Gap close to the grill. They look good with the LED and halo, although not the brightest. Would probably pay the extra for Raxiom. But you get a good deal for the price.

            Much Better Than Stock!!!

The LED dual halo headlights provide much more light for me to see the road in the dark. The look gives my mustang a more modern aggressive look. The install was a little difficult at first but eventually figured it out and had a successful install. The only problem is that the introductions that come with the headlights was not very specific on the identification of the correct wires. The quality of the headlights is defiantly reflects the price.

Look nice but didn't fit. Cluttered.

They for sure look nice, but they have a lot of issues. Haven't even been able to put them on because of fitting issues and I can't even troubleshoot why, could be multiple reasons. Wires are everywhere, and the instructions included aren't even for the correct model I believe. The online instructions on the website aren't for Axial, but rather Raxiom, and they aren't the same with the wiring. Splicing was simple, but the fact I couldn't get the headlights to mount to my car was super upsetting after taking over 2 hours to attempt. Weatherstrip on the edges seemed to be poor quality and almost peeled off just by handling it. All in all, looks good, probably seem nice afterwards, but the instructions are useless (had to look at reviews for answers) and I couldn't fit it into my '99 V6. Definitely not an issue with my car, as I currently have aftermarket tinted headlights that literally pop in.

            Headlight function

Install instructions were less than adequate. 2 wires not listed. The lights look great , low beam is useless due to design. When on low beam the light is only good to about 25 foot, then their is a black line where there should be light. Have to run high beam to be able to see to drive. If the low beam was useful than would give 4 stars or higher

This was my first purchase on this website and it won’t be my last. The shipping was fast and the product was amazing just like in the pictures and videos. The only thing that wasn’t the same as the video was the beam light. It’s not white but instead yellow. That’s not a problem because I can always buy a white light and that’ll be it. Everything else was great. Recommend 10/10

            Not plug and play

This product is not what you expect. It comes with wiring instructions for non led lights and not enough wiring harnesses to connect them. After spending time on various forums I figures the best way to plug them to the car. The headlight work but the halos and led accent lights never turned on. I will be returning them. Very unsatisfied!!!

            Good enough

The way I did it I spliced all the white wires together and all the backs together. Then splice the white wire(LEDs/halo) to the brown (parking light )and the black wire(LEDs/halos) to the black wire(parking light). I also recommend using a using silicone and make sure there's a complete seal around the headlights or they will get water in them

            Led halo projector headlights

They are a great upgrade to consider for any mustang. Especially if you still have the stock headlights. Install was not to hard, took about 30 mins. I would totally recommend these headlights. My 2002 mustang now has a newer look in the front and has defitnley caught some attention. I would say that American muscle has once again taken care of me and made my job on upgrading my mustang a breeze.

            Definite Upgrade

Replacing the headlights of my new (to me) 2003 GT was an obvious upgrade, the only question being OEM or new look. Happy with this choice. Actual installation time was under an hour, but I spent multiple hours over multiple days prepping for it (debating whether to solder instead of using provided splice connectors, buying LEDs for turn signals, affixing resistor box appropriately). With prep, installation was fairly easy. I did use the supplied splice connectors (along with silicone grease). Not sure the supplied low- and high-beam bulbs are very bright, so it might be a good idea to swap in higher performance bulbs prior to installing the assemblies. Tip #1: If either of the small resistor boxes is affixed within the area where the assembly mounts to the car (as mine were), the box needs to be pulled off and affixed elsewhere. Mine ended up facing each other adjacent to the outermost car mount. Tip #2: After you’ve got your resistor boxes placed and figured out where your LED wires are going to run, you can push excess wire back into the unit through the rubber gasket. Better solution than having excess wire outside the unit where it could be crimped or abraided. (Alternative would be to cut excess wire. Not sure at all why ynit didn’t come with the three sets of wires already combined into a single feed, along with resistor box appropriately placed.) Tip #3: Be sure not to let any of the six LED wires get crimped when doing the final mount of the assembly to the car. Even after careful management of my wires, there was a stray wire on either side that wanted to get caught between the mounting teeth.
