      Review & Installation Video

Hey what’s up guys, Justin here with AmericanMuscle.com, and if you’re looking to complete that smoked appearance with your 2010 and up V6 and GT Mustang, then a blackout deck lid panel might just be the final piece you’re looking for. Now the panel itself is made from glossy, durable acrylic material, as you can see on our car back there it gives it a little more of a stealth like appearance. It would also pair up well with a set of smoked tail lights, or a smoked third brake light. The panel adheres using the supplied 3M adhesive tape which is conveniently already installed for you. However first you’re going to want to go ahead and prep the area using the supplied alcohol swabs provided with the kit. Now when it comes to install make sure to align everything first, make sure it looks perfect on the back of your car before giving it some firm pressure because as we know, once this tape is stuck, it’s on there. This panel is a great option to give the rear end of your 2010 and up V6 and GT Mustang a much more stealthy, aggressive appearance.

        Decklid panel stick on

Pretty easy install and great look! Previously had the same black color however it was faded/worn. This panel makes it match the rest of the car.

        Decklid panel

By far the worst product ive ever gotten on here. Before i put it on with the tape i lined it up just to practice and i could tell immediately mine was not cut correctly. The left side fit pretty good but the right had massive overhang and you could see the straight line at the top just nose dive after the half way mark.

        1 2011 GT - DustinL

        Don’t bother

The panel was basically transparent, I have a white car so you could literally see right through it. Junk, didn’t even bother returning went straight to the trash.

        Good product

Item arrived fast and the product was made of good quality. I returned it because my white mustang with stripes showed through the smoked translucent design.

        3 2010 V6 - IvanS Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        It’s okay but...

The decklid is a little too translucent for my taste. My mustang paint is performance white so the translucency is very obvious. It is hard to keep clean and being from Arizona (a desert state) I have to carry a cloth in the vehicle with me to wipe off the dirt off the decklid every time before I drive off. As soon as I get to my destination it is already dirty again. I honestly think I should’ve gone with the magnetic decklid and saved about $30.

5 2011 GT - CDMan Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Looks Great!

Even thought the decklid is transparent, it looked darker once against the car. I wanted it darker, so I painted it black, and clear coated it. It looks awesome, and the gap was hardly noticeable around the badge. I added more 3m tape to be extra secured, and the decklid doesn't budge at all. Overall, the decklid looks great!

How well does this panel hold up to car washing? Does it require any special cleaning, and do I need to avoid using automatic car washes? Since it is plastic, I'm wondering if it will hold up to either hand-held brush wash, or the standard automatic wash brushes. 2 answers
