    Features & Details

    • Ideal Upgrade for Boosted Mustangs
    • Good Driveability
    • Kevlar Based Disc
    • Includes Alignment Tool
    • Fits 05-10 Mustang GT
Ideal Upgrade. If you're adding forced induction to your S197 Mustang GT, a SPEC Stage 2 Clutch is the ideal upgrade that will deliver the holding power you need without sacrificing too much driveability. A SPEC Stage 2 Clutch will handle up to 520 ft-lbs of torque without the "on-off" feel of true race clutches, making this it a perfect choice for moderately modified street and strip 'Stangs.

Perfect for Weekend Warriors. The SPEC Stage 2 Clutches are designed for all mild to moderately modified naturally aspirated and power added engines, but can be used with stock power levels without sacrificing driveability or excessive wear characteristics. They are the perfect balance of driveability and durability that makes them a great choice for Mustangs that see a lot of time on the street as well as the strip and track.

Premium Quality. The SPEC Stage 2 Clutch combines superior holding power with the driveability you want by using premium materials. Each Stage 2 Clutch includes a high clamp pressure plate, pure Kevlar friction material and high torque sprung hub and disc assembly. Like with all SPEC Clutches, an alignment tool is included for easy installation.

Value, Performance, Durability. When looking for a new clutch, trust Spec for the best in value and performance.

Application. This SPEC Stage 2 Clutch kit is designed for the 2005 to 2010 Mustang GT with the TR-3650 transmission. Torque Rating: 520 ft./lbs. This Spec Clutch requires the use of a Spec flywheel for proper engagement. AmericanMuscle highly recommends the Aluminum Flywheel for this Stage 2 Clutch for optimum results. See the drop down menu option above.

It's recommended that you add an SR Performance Braided Stainless Steel Hydraulic Clutch Line during your new clutch install. Stock plastic clutch lines can fail during aggressive driving. Stainless steel clutch lines help prevent gear lockout and provide superior clutch pedal feel, even under the toughest conditions.

Technical Notes: It is recommended to install a new flywheel with this replacement clutch. Check out our flywheel page for steel and aluminum flywheel options.

      Spec Stage 2 Clutch/TOB/Steel Flywheel

Still in my break-in period, but clutch feels much better than OEM did with 160k on it.

      Spec stage 2

Well to accurately give a review, I would have to wait until the clutch life ended but hopefully that won't be for a while, so these are my initial thoughts Grabs GREAT! it really holds the power and puts it to use, i can really feel the difference from the stock clutch. Pedal feel is slightly less stiff then stock I'd say, but the letting out is more springy, also where it engages is slightly farther out so I had to adjust to that. or i might just change the engagement back to about half way, (middle). Street driving is very easy with this clutch as you can slip it. It is NOT a race clutch with only its on/off engagement. Can't say much else, about it, Works excellent so far. I'd like to thank american muscle for all there OUTSTANDING customer support, they really lead the pack with any company in general with it, so keep it up. Thanks! and Yes I would recommend this clutch.

      Rotating weight

The aluminum flywheel was very good craftsmanship for the money, A+. The disc was an A-, very good bang for buck. The pressure plate is over 4lbs heavier than stock, C. The iron foot area is larger. Assembly over all was lighter. Highly recommend the aluminum flywheel with the stage 2 spec clutch. I am a tech from BMR racing in Roseville.

      Skeptical at first

As a s197 driver I've heard plenty of horror stories about this clutch. I decided to give it a shot and I'm glad I did. Grabs a lot better than stock yet feels just as smooth. Great for everyday drivability. A+ for American muscle. Extremely fast shipping as always. ;)

Had this clutch installed a couple months back and it has performed and worked great since day one. I do lots of intown driving and have no problem with bumper to bumper traffic. I just did mods on my car and clutch has had no problems holding the power i would highly recommend this product.

This clutch was arleady installed on my 2006 GT when I got it. It lasted 15k after I bought it, and it just gave out last week. I had a Spec aluminim flywheel. Overall great deal!

Blows the stock clutch out of the water !!

I replaced the matching components including a SPEC Billet flywheel with this SPEC package. It's awesome ! Factory clutch exploded @ 12k. Put this set up in and am very impressed with the quality and dependablity. ASE MASTER CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN for over 20 yrs.

      SPEC Stage 2 Clutch

Spec Stage 2 clutch was easy to install. No change in pedal-driving feel over stock clutch. Expect the Stage 2 to have a longer life than stock unit which could be pushed to its limit quickly

      differant than expected

Clutch is very smooth, a little too smooth actually. I like my clutch to be a little stiff, but this one is smoother than stock. It's working pretty good for me though.
