Hey, guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com, and today, we're taking a really quick look at and installing the SpeedForm window deflectors in a smoked finish, available for the '08 and newer Challenger. Simply, you should be checking this out if you're looking for a way to crack the windows when it's raining out, or if you're a smoker and want some fresh air while having your cigarette out the window. This is a great way to go. It's something that adds just a slight lip over top of the window itself with 3M automotive bonding tape. It's made from injection-molded acrylic, which has a slight transparent finish to it, so it's not completely opaque. And the smoked finish there adds that stealthier look and kind of blends it in a little bit more with the vehicle. It's something that, honestly, looks like it could have come on the Challenger off the factory line, just a really simple part that's really cost-effective and has a very, very simple function, get some fresh air in the vehicle when it's raining. Now, as you can see, we have our window cracked, so you don't have to crack it very much. It gives you that little bit of airflow coming into the vehicle. Now, you'll notice that this goes pretty far along the doorframe there. It's going to go all the way to the corner here, just above where the door meets the fender, and it goes just a few inches back behind the passenger's side or driver's side window, over the quarter window. The price tag for this comes in at 30 bucks and it does come as a pair, so you get one for the passenger and one for the driver's side. We have it installed here on our '13 RT, but it fits the wide range of the '08 and newer Challenger. You can install this in about 15 minutes or so, from start to finish, if that. All you need is an alcohol wipe or soap-and-water mixture if you want to clean off the door. That's something that's extremely crucial in the install process. You want to make sure you're freeing it of all dirt and dust when it comes time to apply the 3M. The 3M is automotive bonding tape. It's meant to be installed on the outside of vehicles. So, as long as you clean the area properly, it will hold on for the lifetime that you need it to, until you want to pull it off. The install, I'm giving a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. I'll show you every step of that process. Let's get started.First step here, guys, grab an alcohol wipe, which I definitely recommend. The first step you want to do is clean off the entire area where that 3M tape is going to bond with the vehicle. This is the crucial step of the process. You don't want to skip over this or be lazy with it. You want to make sure all that dirt and dust is free, so the 3M gets a really good bond, so this doesn't come off, especially at highway speeds. So, you're going to clean on that painted section directly above the window shield trim. That's where that 3M is going to apply. Once you have that cleaned off, it goes right up to just past the passenger's side window here, going into that quarter window. Just go straight over to that. Now, we can apply it.All right, so quick tip for you guys, the 3M tape is already pre-applied to the back of your deflector here. What I like to do is peel off a couple of inches of that red tape backing and hang it over the front side or the outside of the deflector for easy access. We're going to lightly apply this into place. Once you like the position, without putting firm pressure on, peel the tape back, and press it on. Now, in terms of guidance to make sure it's lined up properly, you can see the bend here. You want to line that up to the bend in the window on the door. You can also use this piece down here as a reference. That's going to kind of go right there. Apply this right over the bend, slight pressure, bring it all the way up, make sure it's even. Once you like that position, take that backing and peel it off, and stick it in place. Put firm pressure all around that 3M, repeat on the other side, and you're good to go.That's gonna wrap up my review and install for the SpeedForm window deflectors in a smoked finish, available for the '08 and newer Challenger.
