Installation Time: Full Day
April 14, 2018
I bought this catted X-Pipe because my OEM cats were throwing P0420 codes and I got tired of resetting it. I originally wanted an OEM style catted H-Pipe to replace mine, but once I did some searching and read some reviews, I decided on these awesome Magnaflow's.
First, I want to say that I thought I had a loud exhaust with my Borla ATAK cat-back exhaust, but once I had these installed, it was more like Holy Cow!! The sound went from OMG to Ludicrous. Anything beyond 3K rpms and you better be on the look out for 'you know who'.
I took my car to a shop to have these installed and I'm glad I did because they ran into a few problems. 1.) for some reason, these Magnaflows were shorter than the factory H-pipe, so the mechanic had to weld in some sleeves to fit with my Borla cat-back exhaust. 2.) the mechanic broke one of my manifold bolts while tightening. 3.) Because of the X design vs the factory H one, clearance near my Moroso Competition Driveshaft Safety Loop was too close for comfort. But it did fit. 4.) the hangers were way off and had to be removed and welded back into the right position.
It only took one day to receive these pipes. But if you buy these, just know that they come in three pieces and not one like the picture on this web site shows. As I mentioned earlier, this X-Pipe really opens up your exhaust and they're loud. The good news is they make my 2006 Kenne Bell Supercharged Mustang GT sound like a race car now. The plus side of having a stick is you can blip the throttle at will and let 'them' know you mean business if necessary and enjoy the awesomeness trumpeting through the tailpipes..
I wouldn't recommend if you're worried about being too loud. A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.
I'm also posting pictures soon because for some odd reason, there's only one customer pic so far.
