Now you can add Dyno proven gains in power and torque, as well as improve the overall performance of your 1996-1998 GT with a Rev X Programmer that includes 3 Bama Custom Tunes. By optimizing the air/fuel ratio, adjusting ignition timing and tweaking variable cam timing, a Bama Performance Custom Tune will squeeze out the extra power Ford left on the table. Curve Gains of 21 RWHP / 34 RWTQ have been seen on bone stock 4.6L Mustangs with a 93 octane tune. Automatic transmissions will see an even greater gain in acceleration and drivability, as the tune also adjusts shift points and firmness.

    Increase Your Mod's Potential. From the factory, Ford programs their vehicles to cater to the needs of the daily driver, not the performance enthusiast who adds aftermarket bolt-on modifications in search of more power. When making performance mods, you will need to re-calibrate the vehicle's computer to realize their full potential.

    Custom Bama Tunes Specific to your Pony. When you order a tuner, you aren't just getting a tuner – you're getting the tuner and 3 Dyno-tested custom Bama tunes:

    • Street Tune (87-93 octane) - The Street Tune is designed as a daily driver program that focuses on increasing mid-range power. Automatic vehicles are further enhanced by making adjustments to the transmission's shift points and firmness.

    • Performance Tune (87-93 octane) - The Performance Tune is designed to add power at 3000 RPMs and higher, focusing more on the top end horsepower and all out performance driving. Timing, fuel and throttle response settings are slightly more aggressive than the street tune. This is a great track tune, but also works well for daily drivers that are looking for a little more "get up and go" than the street tune. The automatic transmission settings are the same as in the street tune.

    • Race Tune (91-93 octane) - The Race Tune will ensure the largest increase in vehicle performance. Using the highest grade of fuel available in your area is mandatory. This file is designed for "Race Use Only," as the timing, fuel and throttle response settings are very aggressive. It is so aggressive that we do not recommend it for daily driving, as it may cause your vehicle to try to jump out from a stop and easily spin the tires. On automatics, we implement entirely new shift points and firmness settings to further enhance the all-out performance of the vehicle.

    Wi-Fi Updates and Cloud Tuning. The Rev X Tuner by SCT is Wi-Fi capable, meaning it will always be up to date. Once setup with your Wi-Fi password, the Rev X will download the latest firmware updates via the internet. Besides firmware updates, your Rev X can also download your custom Bama tune files via the cloud, reducing the hassles of transferring files from your PC to your Rev X device.

    Data Logging and Monitoring. The Rev X Tuner by SCT makes it easy to read the Built-In Data Logging and/or the Real Time Data, so you can view popular sensor data such as EGT, Air/Fuel Ratio or any other 0-5 Volt source. You can even customize the monitoring capability of your Rev X using device's free Livelink software.

    Diagnostics Tool. The Rev X Tuner can also be used as a diagnostic code reader. Save yourself hundreds of dollars each year by reading and clearing your own Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) rather than paying a dealer to do the same. It's as easy as a few simple steps.

    Easy to Load; Easy to Restore. When you load your custom tune on the vehicle, the tuner automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return the vehicle to its factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings and you're done. This is ideal for visiting dealerships for warranty work.

    Application. This Bama Rev-X Tuner by SCT with Custom Tune Files by Bama Performance is specifically designed to fit the 1996-1998 GT Mustang. Please note that this programmer is not legal for sale or use in California on pollution controlled motor vehicles.

    It's highly recommended to download Free LiveLink and Updater Software. The LiveLink Application is used to view, data log, record and playback your Mustang's PCM data on a laptop computer.         • Unfortunately bama is not tuning for cams for the 96-98 model years.

            5 1997 GT - DanM

            Very impressed

            Bought this for my ‘97 GT. With my upgrades, I sent the info to American Muscle for Dyno’d tunes. Once the dyno’d tunes were received from the cloud, the installation was very self-explanatory. Loaded the 93 octane race tune and now the tires spin through 2nd, right into 3rd gear. Nice. The car wants to run around 80 with little to no effort. It’s a completely different car. Woke the 4.6 right up. 5- speed w/ 3:73 gears, Exedy STG.1 clutch, BBK CAI, BBK 78mm throttle body/plenum, Steeda under drive pulleys, Flowmaster exhaust, BMR upper/lower rear control arms, Maximum Motor Sports full length sub-frame connectors welded in, Koni’s with Ford Racing lowering springs at the corners. Highly recommend this tuner. It won’t disappoint.

            Wouldn't work for my car.

            First off, customer service with AM and SCT were both awesome and helped with everything along the way. Wouldn't load tunes on the car from the device, SCT confirmed tunes were corrupted, AM re-sent tunes through Email, tunes still wouldn't load to my car, kept getting Error code 110D8. After trouble shooting with SCT on the phone for an hour, SCT deemed the device faulty, and admitted the REV-x/BDX tune has been having a lot of issues with older cars and offered to swap it with an X4. Only issue is having to foot the bill for the shipping for their faulty device, oh well...its only $13.

            Instant Power

            Had to retune due to a rebuild, PI swap, 24# injectors, and catless X. Tune support was awesome and very easy to use. Could immediately feel the difference!

            Not so happy

            Started off with cloud issues, got that squared away, got my performance tune loaded. Tune is great! However I'm stuck with that tune until SCT either finds a problem with the rev x, or I get my ecm reflashed. 110D8-Download error cannot return to stock.- Bama- great customer service, SCT-Not a fan at the moment. I've had my cars electrical system checked at a local shop, and car is good to go. Hopefully nobody has to deal with this $400 brick.

            2 1997 GT - RichardZ

            Wouldnt load tune

            When I first got it I couldn't get it to load a tune I finely got it to load a base tune but I still can't load a custom tune I had to have sct downloaded and reloaded the software cause it just kept saying General error but I ain't got to retry it yet cause not long after I got the tuner I blew a head gasket and I am in the prosses of building a camed na 2v 2001 pi :/ motor to drop into my car I hope the tuner loaded after I get the motor done
