    I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and today I have with me 3 different brake pad options, all from Hawk Performance. We’re looking at the ceramic, the HPS, and the HP+, for both front and rear that will offer a broad range of performance that will suit everything from a bone stock daily driver, to an all out race course monster. Any one of these pads will far outperform your stock pads in just about every way, more braking performance, less fade and dust. However it’s very important you select the right pad for your application, so with that in mind, let’s break these 3 options down a little further. First up is the ceramic option from Hawk. These are going to be an ideal OE replacement and be perfectly suited for any daily driver, they’re going to bite strong without needing to be hot, be very quiet, and offer very minimal dust. This is all thanks to that ceramic compounds, which offers a nice balance between performance and everyday streetability. The next pad, the Hawk HPS will be right in the middle between the ceramics and the HP+ and will be for a daily driver or a weekend warrior, whose car does see a little track time and are just looking for a little bit more bite, and less fade. These pads utilize a therocarbon compound which does benefit from a little heat in order to perform their best but still offer great performance when cold. It is worth pointing out that these pads can be a little noisy when cold, and will definitely put off a little bit more dust than the ceramics, but all around, the HPS are a solid performer. Finally, we have the HP+. These are going to be for someone who subjects their Mustang to road courses and auto crossing where repetitive fade and high heat can kill lesser pads. Can you use these pads on the street? Yes, however, these pads feature a high temperature specific compound with a very high friction coefficient, which means these pads need to be hot and stay hot in order to perform at their best, like on a road course or an auto cross track. Once hot, these HP+ pads will bite hard, and offer great performance with very little fade, these pads tend to be very noisy and put off a good amount of dust, however since they’re geared more towards a race car versus a show car, most folks should be fine with that. Installing these pads from Hawk or any brake pads at that matter is a pretty simple task if you’ve never tackled brakes before. Due to the aggressive compounds of these pads, Hawk included a grease, to be used in conjunction with the included shim located on the back of the pad just to keep the noise level down. It’s very important that you use the grease on the back of the pad and not on the front of the pad, just so you don’t mess up your new brakes. Overall, getting the fronts and rears installed should only take you about 2 hours from start to finish. When it comes down to it, brake pads and tires are 2 of the biggest factors when it comes to helping your car stop faster. So try upgrading your Mustang to a quality pad like one of these Hawk options, and discover the difference in your braking performance.

    Application. This set of Hawk Performance Ceramic Brake Pads are specifically designed to be used on the front of the 2005 to 2014 V6, GT and Bullitt Mustangs. Does not fit GT Brembo, Shelby GT500 or BOSS Mustangs. Set includes driver-side and passenger-side brake pads.

        Do these pads cover the whole surface of the rotor. I've bought other pads that weren't as thick and didnt reach the outside edge of the rotors, rusulting in a rust ring.

            just not worth it

            Significantly improved stopping power that came with significantly more brake dust, to the point where I was cleaning my wheels daily. They also wear out in about 20,000 miles. Will never buy again.

            Hawk pads

            Paired these up with Baer sport drilled/slotted rotors. Definitely notice a difference. Well worth the $$

            Good pads

            I have only had these pads for a week and have already noticed the difference in pad bite over the stock pads. I installed these along with a pair of rear pads also from Hawk. These don't squeal, have not produced any brake dust, and were easy to install.

            HOLY SQUEAK!

            It a been 2 weeks now and these brakes still squeak on every single stop. It's quite annoying. I got the Baer rotors for front and rear along with the Baer pads for the rear and love em. No sounds at all but. But the hawk pads get on my nerves. Yes, great stopping but the sound is awful, I wish Baer had front pads for 13' Mustang. Will not buy these Hawk pads again unless accompanied by Hawk rotors. I have a feeling it's the difference in brands and materials. Do not buy Hawk pads with the front Baer rotors unless you want constant squeaks. If you really want Baer rotors wait for them to release fromt pads for 11' - 14'.

            First off these pads are awesome and definitely a bang for your buck great performance for stopping power and very long dust and quiet I recommend these pads to everyone for a better upgrade than factory pads thanks American muscle

            Not worth the money

            I bought these to upgrade from my OEM brakes and at first they worked really well. One year later when I pulled them off to upgrade my rotors, every spring popped off. The poor design on the springs is a big let down from a brand I've come to trust.

            Amazing

            These pads bite like crazy. I used them on my v6 Daily and I feel much better stopping hard. I kept my stock rotors and they still work perfectly. Install was a breeze and the same as any other brake job would be.

            Love these brakes!

            I ordered these along with some crossed drilled and slotted rotors and they are amazing. Will be ordering the rear set soon, I would recommend get hawk brand any day.

            Awesome Product

            These brake pads are a great replacement. I replaced these because my factory pads would make a chatter noise when applying the brakes with my drilled and slotted rotors. These Hawk pads provide a smooth, even, quite braking and best of all hardly any brake dust!!

            Not what I expected...

            I bought these hoping for a tad more bite vs. stock pads. However, after having them on for about 500 miles, I noticed no change. In fact, these pads are EXTREMELY noisy when braking and almost to a complete stop. I went through the bedding process multiple times. I braked almost every way I could think of in case these needed to be broken in. Checked the pads. I did apply the gel to the back of the pads. I even went and got my rotors resurfaced to rule them out. My brake fluid is also fairly new so I know the calipers are clamping fine. If I could take back this purchase I would. Because I didn't have this loud noise before putting these on. These were supposed to be the quiet ones.... :(

            GREAT PERFORMANCE UPGRADE

            I had a local shop install my pads, front and rear. They did not make any comments about the clips. The pad change was quick but I also had them install steel brake lines which I'd recommend for any brakes, even stock. I broke in the pads per the instructions from Hawk. The first few stops showed no improvement but after 4-6 hard stops they really bite. The car stops significantly better and no brake noise thus far. About 1,000 miles on them with a lot of city driving and some wet roads. Greatly improved stops from freeway speeds. Nearly as good as my Bremo fronts upgrade on my 2007 GT ragtop, but no wheel change needed for brake clearance. The Bremo's 14-inch brakes are surely more effective stopping from speeds higher than freeway, but for the price, I think this is a "no-brainer" upgrade, but do add the steel brake lines for the best performance.

            Good brakes, but...

            I read a review before buying these pads that said the wire clip had popped off. Well, it did on the pads I bought too. I put the brake pad on anyway, hope it doesn't affect it too much. So far, good product, other than cheap workmanship. Maybe next time I'll just get a set of pads at the parts store.

            bad springs

            Installed these for an HPDE. Two of of the curved metal retraction springs had popped off during shipping. Luckily they were both on the "downstream" side of the pad so they haven't caused any noise. Performance wise, they stopped fine although I was being easy on the breaks.
