It says the exhaust includes a hanger, I have a 2007 mustang and Im just changing the one exhaust to this , will I still need the hanger kit ?

    ClayB

    • It is still recommended to replace the hangers at the same time as there are more than one, it is not needed but is recommended.

      Muffler upgrade

This is the perfect muffler for the V6 motor , if your wanting to stay with the factor single exhaust that comes on the mustang, gives you that deep sound of the bigger motor without changing anything else

      Its ok

I had this muffler for about a year but then I a muffler delete by just welding on a new pipe to replace the muffler which only cost me 80$. 10x louder than the Flowmaster but if you don't want to go too loud I would recommend this

      American thunder

When I received the muffler the paint was scratched a little over an inch. Went to install and looks a bit crooked because the arm on it. Wasn’t as loud as a GT but over all I’m pleased.

      Fantastic product

Exactly what I was looking for. A very quiet ride when you're idling or going down residential roads, but picks up the noise when you turn the car on and when you hit around 3 rpm. It's nice to be loud when passing people, but not annoyingly loud at all times. Cabin is very quiet at all times. There's no rattle. It took about an hour to install. The chrome tip is a nice touch. It sticks far enough out the back where it is noticeable.

      Flowmaster American Thunder

Installed on my 2006 with no issues, very straight forward. Start up sounds great and you can tell that it has a rumble. I read the reviews before purchasing about the fact that it did not have a drone and when you got on it the rumble came out closer to a V8. However, i have a convertible and can hear a drone between 1800 and 2200 rpm where mine likes to sit at cruising speed. I love it when under power but not sure if I am going to like turning up the radio a bunch much to overpower that drone.

      Amazing Product

Great product and not hard to install yourself. My only issue I’ve been having is a rattling coming from underneath that comes and goes as I adjust the clamp. Other than that this product is great. It’s loud, but not too loud.

Solid replacement for your stock muffler

I purchased this product because I wanted to have a louder, more aggressive sounding muffler. It is definitely much better sounding and louder than the stock muffler at idle and when you're on the gas. The sound you get is a deep throaty sound, not really a high pitched racey sound, so take that into consideration. The fit is okay, I know some say you have to bend the hangars, but mine went on fine. This muffler is on the lower end of loudness I'd say though. It's loud, but it could be louder, so if you're looking for something that's really, really, loud I'd say this isn't the one for you. It's quiet when you want it to be which is a plus, and also I like how it looks on the car. Overall, a solid replacement for your stock V6 muffler.

Easy and Cheap mod, Very worth the money

For the money I think this is the perfect exhaust for your V6. The V6 model was definitely missing something and a better exhaust/muffler is that something. If you can't afford or don't want to spend the extra money for a borla this is an awesome choice, it makes it sound like a V8 and gives some nice backfire crackles in addition to increasing the noise level. It also looks quite nice, much better than the stock muffler.

      Happy with it

When I first installed it I thought it was almost too loud but after a couple days the sound got quieter, and I wanted it to be loud again... when I called AM about it they said they could do nothing because the flow master was installed ... so basically you have to hope they don't send you a broken one otherwise it's on you... I'm still happy with it, it's better then stock but it looses its sound quality after a little while.

      Must Need for your v6

This was my first purchase to my 09 v6 mustang and it was a great one. The sound is now more sport sound like and throatier! The install was easy but time consuming because of all the bolts, make sure you have the 13mm and 15mm wrench as stated.

      NICE SOUND / BAD FIT

The good. Sounds great, not too loud but it is not supposed to be. Quiet at idle, but really sounds great under power. The bad. exhaust tip sits to the far left side of the factory bumper cut out and hangs down low. The factory hangers do not have adjustment so the solution was to cut the pre installed brackets on the muffler / move it to the correct place and re-weld. A pain but not a big deal as I have a shop and a welder. If not and I would have had to pay a muffler shop I would have returned it as I could have bought the 60 series Flowmaster and chrome tip for $168 and did a custom install cheaper. I paid the $255 for the convince and still had to do custom work. Still happy with it and it gave me a chance to teach my kid some fabrication.

I like to bring the thunder

You have to get the air in and you have to get the air out and the way my car is set up cold air intake ,spacer plate,x 3 program and a very low restriction American Thunder muffler this car sounds great at 3000 rpm's this American Thunder muffler tunes my exhaust system perfectly and heavy chrome roll tips finish the look

      Excellent quality for the price

This item bolted on easily and without any hassle. The muffler itself performs very well with a nice throaty exhaust note at higher rpms and a very quiet idle. Muffler gets rather hot, make sure it is centered on the bumper or the plastic will warp.

      New exhaust for the Mustang

Like the sound it produces with all the other upgrades we've done in the engine compartment. Unfortunately the install was bolt on like most of the other reviews stated. Without fabricated new hangers this was not going to be installed securely. Called American Muscle and they wanted to sell me the Hanger kit Duh they are identical to what I already have so why would I want to pay $40 for a product that isn't going to make a difference. So took it to muffler shop and $40 later nice and tight fit. Sounds real nice though for a V6.
