Shelby GT500 Styling and Sound. This Lower Rear Valance and Axle-back kit is the exact same one that is featured on the Shelby GT500 Mustang. Offering aggressive race inspired styling and sound this rear diffuser kit makes the perfect replacement part or appearance upgrade for your Mustang.

Axle-Back. Constructed from high quality stainless steel tubing with dual slant cut stainless steel tips, this Shelby GT500 Axle-Back exhaust system features specifically engineered Straight-Through mufflers to eliminate that annoying exhaust drone that is heard at sustained RPM's.

Rear Valance. Made from OEM quality high pressure injection molded thermal plastic for it's long lasting durability, this rear diffuser valance features an OEM grained texture for increased longevity against rock impacts from daily driving.

Application. This Rear Diffuser and axle-back kit is a direct fit replacement for the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 and BOSS 302 Mustangs, can also be installed to upgrade the appearance and sound of your V6 or GT models with modifications.

GT and V6 Installation Note. Installation of this Shelby GT500 rear valance diffuser on a GT or V6 model will require modifying the factory rear bumper fascia cover. You will need to cut and remove the lower section of the cover and cut slits to retain the valance. Fortunately, Ford pre-marked the backside of the factory fascia cover showing exactly where you need to cut, making the job much easier. Due to differences in the size of the axle-back piping diameter, V6 models will require additional exhaust modifications.

Fits the item above under the 2013 GT/CS without cutting the bumper? Do I have to cut the bumper of my 2013 GT/CS so that the GT 500 Rear Valance fits or does it fits without cutting the something??? The bumper of the GT/CS is split like the GT500 bumper. Thanks and regards, Carsten Bruns

    Carsten

    • No you don't have to cut anything. It clips in just like the CS diffuser.

Can anyone tell me the difference between this axle-back and the other Gt500 axle-back sound.

    Munoz

    • This axleback here is the factory axelback included on the Gt500 mustangs, whereas, the other GT500 ford performance axleback featured a single exit so it could be used on the normal GT's while having a similar sound.

I see that this set up needs exhaust modifications on a v6 but can you tell me like what do I need to make it work ??

    Geo

    • Due to differences in the size of the axle-back piping diameter, V6 models will require additional exhaust modifications. The flow tubes will need to be upgraded up flanged to properly fit this kit.We would suggest taking the The Ford Performance Shelby GT500 Rear Valance & Exhaust Kit to your local exhaust shop for custom exhaust shop for the modification.

      Glorious

Installed the quad exhaust in about an afternoon, couldn't be happier. Great rumble, no drone, and cruising at 1800rpm sounds amazing. You do have to cut your bumper, but there are lines on the inside of the bumper that tell you where...but still...you are cutting up your Mustang. I spent an afternoon (about 5 hours) on mine, taking my time and I had the help of one other person. Anyone with a little DIY in them can knock this out.

This is the exhaust to get. People were saying to get Borla and that this won't make much of a difference on my 2014 v6. The sound is unbelievably better. Throaty like a muscle car, not sporty. Also very loud. Looks fantastic as well. The diffuser is the unsung hero in this bundle because it is so beautiful. Also, since the diameter on the pipe is different on the v6, it had to be welded.

      Sounds awesome

Easy to install just take your time. Sound is unbelievable but pleasant at cruising speed. Spray paint the muffler walls with hi-temp black. Paint them before you install (not sure why Ford does not do this for all mufflers).

sounds like 400 horsepower car now

pretty straight forward install, took me about two hours in my driveway. being factory Ford parts the fit was perfect. to cut the bumper, I used a dremel with 1/8" multipurpose rotozip bits, recommend doing a test cut in the area you'll throw away to get a feel for it, then trace the line on the inside of the bumper. I used Ford's install instructions here, http://fordracingparts.com/m/CatResults.asp?c=54#/m/Part.asp?p=23404 gives the car a nice loud aggressive tone without being obnoxious, yet quiet enough to not disturb neighbors on early mornings and late nights as long as you keep your foot out it.

      Sounds good, looks amazing!

Just installed this on my 13 GT/CS. Since it was the CS I didn't have to remove or cut the bumper so that definitely helped with the install. Overall, it was very easy and it looks great! It's a little bit louder than the stock mufflers (everything else on my car is stock) but has a really good rumble to them, especially in the low end. They're a little pricey, but I'm definitely glad I made the purchase. And as always, AM is the best service!

      Sick Axelback

I've been deliberating on which kind of axelback to get for my mustang for a while. I was looking for an exhaust that was louder than stock, but not too raspy or obnoxious. Finally pulled the trigger on this kit and couldn't be happier. My review below: 1. The sound: A very deep growl, roars when you hit the gas. Sounds perfect. Sounds way better than on the youtube videos. 2. The appearance: Looks beast. The quad tips are really sharp, and the black rear valance looks good with deep impact blue. 3. The price: Definitely pricey. If you don't need the valance, then you can just get the mufflers on ebay for a decent price. However, I needed the whole kit, along with a shop to install it. The install cost was 366$, so along with the original parts that's a good bit of cash spent. Overall I'm very happy with the purchase an have no regrets! I'm aware that mufflers don't really add HP, but it sounds like mine gained 100.

      Changes EVERYTHING!!!

I didn't like the huge gap of the stock exhaust cutouts, so I wanted this to fill that ugly gap, and also loved the look of the quad tips. Great sound too! I didn't want anything too loud, or with a lot of drone. These have ZERO drone, and are quite a bit louder than stock. And be prepared for the symphony of snaps, cracks, and pops (Bacon!) when letting off the gas or down shifting! I would not recommend doing this on your own unless you have experience and the right tools. My lift and body saw turned this into a 2 hour install for me, plus an extra set of hands played a huge role in that.

Awesome appearance, great fit and sweet sound!

First of all, I love pretty much everything about this exhaust! The install was very simple and straight forward and the valence was a perfect fit! It looks amazing! As far as sound of the mufflers; I have an off-road x-pipe and resonator delete on my mustang so those upgrades paired with the GT500 exhaust sounds MEAN! I do wish it were a little louder but still i'm not complaining it sounds great! This kit is a tad pricy but totally worth the money! And of course, as always, awesome customer service and fast shipping from AM!

      Solid exhaust

I bought these exhausts for the look, sound and reliability. It hasnt let me down in any of those factors. Sounds great with my off road x pipe, long tube headers, and over axel pipe. Literally the perfect sound. Not crazy loud when im driving around town but when I get on it she screams! Definitely worth the price and looks amazing

      GT500 Quad Tips are GLORIOUS!

At first I was unsure of what exhaust to get for my v6. Borlas seemed to be a crowd favorite, but I had also heard some bad reviews on them, and they are becoming increasingly common and I felt the need for something a little different. And WOW am i glad i stumbled upon these!!!! they are hands down a no brainer for any mustang owner. The sound that these exhaust with the combination of my Airaid Intake sounds phenomenal. Smiles per gallon have skyrocketed! The bumper was needed to be cut to fit the valence on, but that was a task easily handled by my local bodyshop, the actual install of the exhaust was also handled by a shop, and they were done in less than an hour. There is virtually no drone, and its almost as quiet as stock when cruising or when you want it to be. But punch it, AND SHE SCREAMSSSSSS!!!!! very deep true muscle car tone. I could not be happier with my purchase. If you are on the fence about these exhaust for your V6 look no further these babies are worth every penny!

      Meanest sound for a 5.0

Fantastic exhaust. I had the rear valance installed professionally, and swapped the mufflers. This is the meanest exhaust you can get for the 5.0, it keeps it deep and rumbly down low, and roars wide open. No drone too. If you pair this up with LTH over axle pipes and a JBA H-pipe you'll have an amazing sounding 5.0, I got compliments everywhere.

      Great Purchase For Sure.

The sound of the car from the manufacturer wasn't bad, but I knew it had to be enhanced. I didn't want to be obnoxiously loud, but the V8 needed justice, so I bought the GT500 exhaust and did it myself in my garage in about 5 hours. Before trading in my first car Betty, a black 2007 V6 stang, I knew the next car had to be a mustang. I ended up getting a 2013 5.0 and I fell in love all over again, I noticed the sound was pretty quiet even if you put the hammer down with the stock exhaust so I decided to look up different exhausts and this one had me from the start. The sound is incredible from idle to redline, and a quad exhaust looks amazing on the tail end. It is a perfect exhaust all around the board. I never waste time with reviews but this one deserves it. Get it.
