Simple installation for anyone.
Hey guys, Paul from Bama Performance here. We just finished running our bowling style 2015 competition orange Ford Mustang GT on the Dyno, made 382 wheel horse power, and 360 foot pounds of torque with nothing but 93 octane in the tank. Now, for those of you who watched our last videos that are black 2015 made down much less at 369 wheel horsepower. I'm not sure where the power differences are, but maybe some future development will let us know. All right guys, so what I'm about to do is test out Bama 93 track too, I've already loaded it into the car. We're going to run it on to the Dyno, and let's see what the results are. All right guys, we just finished running our Bama Performance 93 track tune, and I'm really happy with the results. We made 403 wheel horsepower, 383 foot pounds of torque, compared to stock guys, we picked up 22 horsepower, and 23 foot pounds of torque peak gains, and 31 horsepower in 47 foot pounds of torque. This thing feels like a rocket ship, the throttle response is amazing. We've got a 2015 JLT Cold Air Intake, we're getting ready to install in the car. We're going to reflash the computer with our Bama 93 track tune exclusively for this intake. We're going to run it on the Dyno, and see what the results are.All right guys, we just finished testing our Bama 93 track tune, and the JLT Cold Air Intake on this 2015 Mustang GT, and the results are amazing. We made 412 wheel horsepower, 382 foot pounds of torque. Now over stock that's 30 wheel horsepower, and 23 foot pounds of torque peak gains, and throughout the curve we made 34 wheel horsepower, and 47 foot pounds of torque. Some of you guys may be asking why do we not make a ton of power over just the tune down low, especially those torque numbers. And it just results into efficiency and airflow. That stock air box, it works really well until the upper RPM range, and now that's when the JLT really starts to shine. All right guys, that about sums it up for the day. We finished doing our initial development with our 2015 Mustang GT tunes, and the JLT Cold Air Intake. We spent some additional time with the Ecoboost, and I can't wait to see what we'd do when we get our hands on the V6. I put this on my 2017 GT with the performance pack and after uploading the tune already in my SCT tuner it woke the car right up!! I did notice a little loss of low end part throttle torque but when I get on it the mid range and high end torque and power is unmistakable. Definitely worth the money.Helpful (0)

JLT CAI AND Bama Tune
Very impressed with the increased throttle response and power this combo makes. Especially with the 93 octane tune. Could not ask for a better CAI and tune combo.Helpful (1)

High Intake Temperature
Overall the JLT intake is easy to install and you can notice the gain in power post tune. However, after the install and tune I noticed a few things that aren't ideal. 1.) There is a bit of rattling. I notice it when I'm driving around slow and can't seem to find out where it is coming from. 2.) The intake temperature is relativly high for being considered a CAI. On the highway I'm seeing 80F - 90F and driving slow and idle I'm seeing temperatures of 105F - 115F.Helpful (4)
What size filter is this?
This intake will have a 5x7" filter.
Is this cold air intake carb certified? CA smog legal?
Unfortunately this intake is not CARB legal.
Would this Cai cause my car to rough idle and possibly misfire with a tune?
I currently have a PMAS intake on a ported 2018 manifold but am having issues with the quality and I’m looking for a change. I had fitment issues with the PMAS and I had to purchase an adapter for the new manifold. Will I have the same issue with this JLT? Not sure if I should be looking at intakes for 18 since I’m running an 18 manifold.
Yes, additional modifications/components would be required if using with a 2018 intake manifold.
That's work for v6?
This will not work for the V6 models.
A tune is required yes.
Lund can tune this intake with no issues.
At this time, the JLT Performance Cold Air Intake is not available without the sound tube ports.
Once tuned, you should not experience any issues with check engine lights.
We offer and recommend using the Flowmaster Cold Air Intake Filter Refresh Kit Part #399866 to clean and oil your air filter.
This CAI will give up to 37 RWHP and 26 RWTQ with a tune whereas The PMAS Velocity CAI (with a required tune) will give 37HP and 41TQ https://www.americanmuscle.com/pmas-cai-tune-required-1517gt.html
Not adding a tune will cause the car to not run properly. Please note that a tune is required after the installation of this intake.
A tune is required after the installation of this intake. Not adding a tune will cause the car to not run properly.
Unfortunately this JLT Cold Air Intake will only fit the 15-17 GT model. However, we did add one for the 2018. That can be found here: https://www.americanmuscle.com/jlt-performance-cold-airtake-2018-gt.html.
This JLT Performance Cold Air Intake is designed to work with the factory throttle bodies, however the coupler may be able to stretch onto a larger throttle body - if not, it would require a reducing coupler.
