Is there any x or h pipes that will bolt on to this set up?

    DustinJ

    • The Magnaflow Dual Cat-Back Exhaust has a single inlet designed to attach to the OEM or aftermarket Y pipe. This would not be compatible with an H or X pipe, which would require two inlets.

I have a 2002 V6 Mustang hardtop and I want to buy this exhaust but I would like to know how it sounds on the interior of the car? Mainly does it drone really bad? If I get this exhaust my set up will be BBK shorty headers and the Magnaflow Dual Cat-Back Exhaust, everything else is stock.

    Crashin

    • This cat-back does not have drone. This cat-back with the BBK shorty headers should have a really great tone.

      MagnaFlow dual cat-back exhaust

It took me about an hour. But, I have a lift. I had to cut and weld the hangers in the rear, so I could tuck them up to the cutouts. But now, they look and sound great.

      Horrible Instructions

This exhaust came with the worst instructions ever. There is no mention of needing a lift. There is no mention of having to remove the tires AND shocks just to get the rear pipes over the wheel axel... And even when you do, the pipes are shaped in such a way that the alignment is never right. If you want to save yourself a headache of frustration do NOT spend $600 on this exhaust

      Great catback

This is a great road to take if you're not planning on really pushing the hp out of your stang, it has a great rumble to it though and will really make your mustang stand out, but not a good road to take if you want performance. My install was extremely easy just because I already had my exhaust cut at the axle, but otherwise it'll be pretty time consuming on just getting the stock system out.

      The Exhaust, it's OK.

Granted, the exhaust arrive pretty quickly. But installment was a hassle. First there was a missing bolt, it came with 5 bolts instead of 6. Then when trying to install the pipes to the muffler, the passenger side pipe slides right in like a glove but the driver side pipe wouldn't enter. To my dismay the pipe wasn't a full circle, but more like an oval. And I hadn't drop it or tampered with it at all. I finally managed to get the pipes in but the insulators for the passenger side wouldn't reach since the pipes keep hitting another part so it wouldn't reach at all. I follow the instructions to the letter yet end result wasn't really satisfactory having the passenger side not fit well. Then to the pay off. The sound and preformance. The sound was, average. It's not something you'll be suprised but it is more better than the OEM. "Adds the Look and Sound of a V8" Well they got one right. It does look like a V8. But sound is average. But the preformance however, that's where I noticed the diffrence. It got a bit more faster and I can tell my MayII can breathe more. Overall. I'd say this Exhaust is Ok. It's not something worth praise much but it isnt a loss either.

      Deep sporty sound

Me and a friend took out the stock exhaust and put up this magnaflow, which took about 6 hours using jack stands. The difficult parts of the install were taking off the hooks from the rubber hangers and putting the new pipes in. You have to get creative and try different combinations. The driver's side was easy to put on, but the passenger side was difficult. One thing I noticed was that the pipe was rubbing on the center pipe of the car. So we adjusted the screws and pipes to prevent rubbing. The exhaust sounds really sporty and loud around 2.5-3k rpm. Overall, knowing that we had this car for 17 years, this exhaust makes a BIG difference in sound quality.

      Get this one!!!

Ok so let me just go ahead and say that THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY FOR A V6. I had no other mods on my car before this and it sounds fantastic. It's not too obnoxiously loud and before I bought it I was worried it might not be loud enough but I promise yall it is just perfect and has a great deep tone with zero raspy ricey sounds. There was absolutely no fitment issues, might seem tough at first to fit the tail pipes around rear axel but you just have to get the right angle and make sure you have the right pipe on the right side. I totally noticed an increase in acceleration and the car pulls thru rpms so much better. If you just want a simple quality exhaust that sounds great and isn't totally over kill to install this is the one. On the more expensive side for bolt ons but the quality makes it worth every bit! Can't say enough good things about it!

Nice deep sound! Sounds great on start up and around 1500 rpms. Not as loud as I thought it would be but it does sound very nice. Took us about an hour to install. Could be a little louder.

      amazing exhaust

This exhaust is great it has a great note but i wish it was a bit louder. It only took.an hour and a half to install but if you put the car on a lift, the exhaust hits the driveshaft so we had to finish it on the ground

      Great sound

This is a great exhaust, a little pricy but worth it if you want to completely change the way your car sounds. I had the exhaust installed and had to go back in to the shop twice to get it rewelded to stop a rattling noise at low RPM's. Ever since that I've had no issues with the exhaust and am completely in love with how it sounds. P.S. It sounds great at about 3,000 RPM's

      Worth it...

I bought this exhaust this spring and had it installed by an exhaust shop. My only gripe is that the right pipe did not fit even close to how it was supposed to, it pointed way up into the bumper so they had to heat the pipe and bend it a great deal to get it to point under the bumper and match up with the other side. Installation cost was a bit more spendy because of this issue but otherwise great sound great look, buy it!

The noise inside the cabin is louder than I had expected. The exhaust note is great.

I was somewhat disappointed that the kit did not include rubber exhaust hangers for the mufflers. I am having a tough time trying to find a 4 inch center to center hanger and a 3 inch center to center hanger. If you know were I can find them please let me know.

ONE OF THE BEST EXHAUST SYSTEMS FOR V6 STANG!!!

If you want a mean sounding V6 stang, this is the exhaust system for you! On a cold start, it has a V8ish deep rumble. While driving under 3K RPM it has a really nice, aggressive tone for V6, without being obnoxiously loud. Above 3K RPM, it begins to get a little raspy. I've even noticed better throttle response since installing this exhaust system. The fit & finish is perfect, since it is made of 100% stainless steel, unlike other other exhaust systems (MAC, Flowmaster, etc.) This system is a little pricey compared some others though.

      Sound changer for the V6

Was going over which exhaust I was going to get for months. Many people say listen to YouTube videos and to be honest the sound quality of those videos does not paint a accurate picture of what an of the exhausts sound like. Went to a shop heard the different options and this is the best sounding overall exhaust by far. Don't by anything for the v6. Until you get this. Excellent product!!!!!

      Simple dual exhaust

Somewhat loud, good fit and nice rumle/gargle when downshifting. Expensive product, dont expect it to be loud if you have catted y-pipe & stock shortty headers. A lot easier then buying new x/h- pipe & a GT exhaust, but not as loud. Great product if you want something a little louder than stock. Buy a cold air intake along with it, helps It not sound like a v6
