I would love this kit with black tips for the 2000 v6, is it optional because I notice these tips have the hanger tube affixed to the tip so I can't just purchase black tips.

Can the mufflers be cut off and replaced with like say a shotgun muffler or straight piped?

Will this work with the Magnaflow Direct-Fit HM Grade Catted Y-Pipe (99-04 V6) Item 402876 instead of the stock mid pipe on the 2000 v6 Mustang?

I have the exhaust installed with all bolts tightened, however when idling with A/C on or sometimes without A/C on I’m experiencing an exhaust rattle. What can be causing that issue?

        • This could be something blocking the insides of the exhaust itself, or an issue with the alignment and installation of the exhaust itself. We would advise that you should have a local service professional take a direct look into this as we would be unable to diagnose the issue without physically inspecting your vehicle.

            Great kit

Great kit, only had a problem with the exhaust hitting the driveshaft while hanging in the carlift and the rearend was hanging down, but on four wheels on the ground no probleem enough space between the shaft, exhaust and catback. Further one tip hangs a litle lower than the other one. But the sounds make everthing allright. Its amazing and tunnels are even more fun. Make sure the kit is complete because you need to cut the old exhaust in half to remove it, or get the reaxle apart. Not bought at american muslce but same kit, shipping from america was the same price as the exhaust. Bought the kit in holland

            exhaust installation

i watched the video prior to receiving the exhaust system and when it came it took me less than 1.5 hrs to remove and replace the cat back system. I was very impressed with the style and fitment right out of the box. I would suggest this product to everyone

            Sounds aight

Alright I had a custom exhaust before this and yeah this sounds nice and deep but it’s not loud and crazy, I have a v6. It’s not much of a difference from what I had before but yeah it’s ok . Loudness scale would be 5/10 it’ sounds aggressive but it’s not crazy

            4 2000 V6 - Solution Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $250-$500

Happy with it overall. I recommend not having it welded until you break it in. Had some issues with how they fit. Took it back to the shop 3 times. Still getting a knocking over bumps. Pipes are also bent differently. Overall it sounds good, definitely not loud but good rumble. I wanted quality muscle car growl over high raspy notes. Looks nice too. Everyone likes it.

            Fit perfect and great sound

The kit came with everything needed and bolted up perfectly with the factory mount locations. Gives a aggressive V8 sound from a V6 and looks great. Took about 2 hours to install.

            Nice exhaust

System sounds really great. Much better rumble than my stock exhaust. The hardware being included was a major plus to this system and made it easy to install. Not on American Muscle, but the packing could be done a bit better. Nothing was damaged, but there was very little protective padding keeping the pipe sections from clanging against each other. The mufflers and the Tips were well protected however. The instructional video didn't point out installing the set-screws into the tips to secure them to the hanger. I think that may be were some peoples 'clanging' sounds are, if they didn't catch that.

Awesome sound, nice and loud rumble. Way better than stock. I have basic mechanical experience and it was pretty easy install. I did not have a lift so I had to take off the tires and shocks to get it over the axle. That was the hardest part. Everything fit and lined up perfectly.

            Summer Fun

Great product. I had two clamp that where two large and had to get two smaller ones so it held the pipes tight. The clamps it came with wouldn't hold the pipes tight when they where all the way tight I could go. Other then that is sounds great not to loud and gave the car some more hours power. It like it woke my car up. Sounds like a V8 without the V8 price tag. IT get louder when you get over 2500 RPM where it sounds like a race car. LOL love it.

It took me about an hour. But, I have a lift. I had to cut and weld the hangers in the rear, so I could tuck them up to the cutouts. But now, they look and sound great.

            Horrible Instructions

This exhaust came with the worst instructions ever. There is no mention of needing a lift. There is no mention of having to remove the tires AND shocks just to get the rear pipes over the wheel axel... And even when you do, the pipes are shaped in such a way that the alignment is never right. If you want to save yourself a headache of frustration do NOT spend $600 on this exhaust

            Great catback

This is a great road to take if you're not planning on really pushing the hp out of your stang, it has a great rumble to it though and will really make your mustang stand out, but not a good road to take if you want performance. My install was extremely easy just because I already had my exhaust cut at the axle, but otherwise it'll be pretty time consuming on just getting the stock system out.

            3 2002 V6 - RevyWolf Installation Time: Afternoon

            The Exhaust, it's OK.

Granted, the exhaust arrive pretty quickly. But installment was a hassle. First there was a missing bolt, it came with 5 bolts instead of 6. Then when trying to install the pipes to the muffler, the passenger side pipe slides right in like a glove but the driver side pipe wouldn't enter. To my dismay the pipe wasn't a full circle, but more like an oval. And I hadn't drop it or tampered with it at all. I finally managed to get the pipes in but the insulators for the passenger side wouldn't reach since the pipes keep hitting another part so it wouldn't reach at all. I follow the instructions to the letter yet end result wasn't really satisfactory having the passenger side not fit well. Then to the pay off. The sound and preformance. The sound was, average. It's not something you'll be suprised but it is more better than the OEM. "Adds the Look and Sound of a V8" Well they got one right. It does look like a V8. But sound is average. But the preformance however, that's where I noticed the diffrence. It got a bit more faster and I can tell my MayII can breathe more. Overall. I'd say this Exhaust is Ok. It's not something worth praise much but it isnt a loss either.

            5 1999 V6 - Slickslice Installation Time: Afternoon

            Deep sporty sound

Me and a friend took out the stock exhaust and put up this magnaflow, which took about 6 hours using jack stands. The difficult parts of the install were taking off the hooks from the rubber hangers and putting the new pipes in. You have to get creative and try different combinations. The driver's side was easy to put on, but the passenger side was difficult. One thing I noticed was that the pipe was rubbing on the center pipe of the car. So we adjusted the screws and pipes to prevent rubbing. The exhaust sounds really sporty and loud around 2.5-3k rpm. Overall, knowing that we had this car for 17 years, this exhaust makes a BIG difference in sound quality.

            5 2004 V6 - E

            Get this one!!!

Ok so let me just go ahead and say that THIS IS THE ONE TO BUY FOR A V6. I had no other mods on my car before this and it sounds fantastic. It's not too obnoxiously loud and before I bought it I was worried it might not be loud enough but I promise yall it is just perfect and has a great deep tone with zero raspy ricey sounds. There was absolutely no fitment issues, might seem tough at first to fit the tail pipes around rear axel but you just have to get the right angle and make sure you have the right pipe on the right side. I totally noticed an increase in acceleration and the car pulls thru rpms so much better. If you just want a simple quality exhaust that sounds great and isn't totally over kill to install this is the one. On the more expensive side for bolt ons but the quality makes it worth every bit! Can't say enough good things about it!
