    Hey, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com taking a closer look at Power Stop's Z26 Street Warrior cross-drilled front and rear brake rotor and ceramic pad kit, available for '94 to 2014 Mustangs. Power Stop is a company that produces quality braking components with the goal of giving you increased stopping power for an affordable price. We've had some experience with Power Stop's brake package for the newer Mustang on our 2014 project car build, Project Coyote. The Power Stop Z26 Street Warrior kit, as I mentioned earlier, is available for just about all '94 to 2014 Mustangs including the '11 to '14 Brembo equipped cars. Now this is a really cost effective kit, especially when you consider what you're getting. The Power Stop includes the front and rear cross drilled and slotted rotors, in addition to the brand new carbon fiber infused ceramic pads for all four corners. American Muscle also sells all of these same components individually as well, so you can pick up what you need without purchasing the entire kit if need be. Now that you guys know what's included, let's break down the components a little further starting with the rotors. Now as I mentioned earlier, you're getting two front and two rear rotors with the kit. And as you can see, they're both drilled and slotted. Having a drilled and slotted rotor like this will be beneficial because it will reduce the heat in your brakes that may lead to excessive brake feed after a few repetitive hard stops. The rotors have bevel drill holes to keep temps down during use, as well as rounded slots to help maintain a clear contact patch for the pad and the rotor. The rotors have also been silver zinc plated to help prevent any possible rust or corrosion, ensuring that the rotors will look good for years to come. And speaking of looking good, performance benefits aside, a set of drill and slotted rotors look killer. And they do add a more aggressive look to your Mustang, especially if you have a wheel design like the MMD 551C. Or a set of AMRs. Or Bullitts, for instance, where you can really see a lot of the rotor. In fact, you can head back to the site if you're not there already, to check out some customer- submitted reviews and images of this Power Stop kit installed on a wide variety of Mustangs. As for the pads, the Power Stop kit utilizes a carbon fiber infused ceramic pad, which will help you in a couple of different ways. For starters, the ceramic compound will increase the overall stopping power by allowing the pads to handle higher brake temperatures with less heat fade. The ceramic compound in this pad will also be quiet and produce less dust when compared to other materials, keeping your wheels cleaner in the process. As for the install, you'll need some basic hand tools along with a jack or a lift. Since you're tackling all four corners, it might take you a few hours, about three or so, to get the job done. The kit also includes all the necessary hardware making the install that much easier. One very important step. Whenever installing a new set of rotors and pads, it is very important to follow the manufacturer's bleeding process and braking procedures just to get the optimal performance and wear from your new setup.         Fits without Brembo calipers, how do I find out if my mustang came equipped with brembo calipers?

        • The Brembo Brakes were available on GT, GT500 and Boss Mustangs only. Unless you have an aftermarket Brembo brake kit, your V6 should have no issue with this kit.

        Are these lighter than OEM

        • Although there will not be any significant difference in weight between these and OEM rotors, there will be a noticeable improvement in stopping power and fade resistance with the Power Stop kit.

            Great Upgrade

            I am a novice at DIY mechanic. This was very simple and worth the time. The only thing not mentioned in video is the placement of brake hardware. These little clips are side specific. please excuse me not knowing this but as a novice DIY mechanic I like to know these things in advance. Otherwise, this is a fun and easy upgrade. Next are my red caliper upgrade.

            Using 15 and 17mm wrenches/ratchets. Should take someone who's changed pads/rotors and hour and a half-2 hours...unless you clean/paint your calipers also. They definitely stop you harder.

            Great Performance

            Had installed professionally, much better performance. Also purchased the Caliper covers, look great but issue with mounting clips so asked for replacements to see if can resolve, scraping noise upon acceleration.

            Me and my son

            I bought this set for my son’s 24th birthday present. This was his first brake job and he did great. The fit and finish of the pads and rotors were excellent. Stopping, as my son stated, “Is like a dream!” Very nice product. The zinc coated rotors should be looking great for a long time.

            Amazing performance

            Brakes like a champ, installation was a breeze but did not have to piston tool for the rear brakes so had to use a home made hand tool (c clamp, and twisting it while c clamp was attached. I have no complaints and along with these i got yellow caliper clips :)

            Power Stop Z26 Kit

            Shop reported the rear driver side rotor slightly out of round. I had them install caliper covers (MGP), and the clip was grazing the outer edge of the rotor. Pads seem to be outputting a lot of dust as the covers are coated and their color hardly noticeable (yellow). At the time of this review I have just shy of a 100 miles on them, so technically they're still not broken in. Only real noise to report are soft stop creaking from the fronts, but I hear this is normal. My front rotors and pads were thrashed to the point of metal on metal and heavy grooves in the rotors. I was expecting a huge difference in pedal feel after having this kit installed, but was not impressed. I also had stainless lines installed and a Shelby brake booster at the same time. Might be the pad compound, as I was using Baer Ceramics previously. I guess time will tell if braking improves.

            HUGE DIFFERENCE!!!! Way better feel than the stock brake pads and rotors. Installed within like 5 hours BUT because had a little bit of difficulty with the rear calipers. When all said and done took her for a spin and feels amazing really really good brake feel and stopping power

            Need to be broken in

            the brakes work like a charm, super good fit and they look stylish. Don't let the fact that the first time you try and brake and don't stop defer you. the brake pads need to settle and get fitted into the calipers and so it may take a couple hundred miles for them to get fully seated. Also before you install the rotors, give them a rinse with brake cleaner to get the oil from the factory off. Excess oil will make them look bad for the first couple driving sessions as well as making them smell horrible. Other than that they look good, feel good and can stop if they need to
