      Description

      Increase In Performance. Bolting on a Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit to a stock 1998 to 2004 V6 will yield an increase of 10 to 20 more horsepower! This Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit includes both the Catted X-Pipe and Cat-Back needed to give your Mustang an impressive throaty V8 sound and increase in rear wheel horsepower.

      Turndown Tips. The Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Conversion kit is designed with tips that turn down under the rear bumper, similar to the 1987 to 1993 GT, so no cutting or modifications are required to the stock V6 rear bumper cover.

      Catted X-Pipe design. This Pypes catted x-pipe balances out the gas pressures in your exhaust system to create more power and torque than the factory Y-pipe. Why? Because the exiting exhaust pulses are merged at the "X", resulting in less exhaust back pressure for more power. Pypes High Flow Catalytic Converters are included.

      Quality Materials. Both the Catted X-Pipe and Cat-Back are constructed from mandrel bent 2.5" 409 stainless steel. The X-Pipe features welded reinforcement plates for additional strength and the Dual Cat-Back features Pypes Street-Pro 3-chamber mufflers for an aggressive throaty sound.

      Application. This Pypes V6 True Dual Exhaust Kit is specifically designed to fit on any 1998 to 2004 3.8L or 3.9L V6 Mustang for more power and a more aggressive sound.

        New Exhaust

        The system was installed in a back yard with jack stands. It was fairly easy to follwo the instalation instaructions The bolts that attached the systemm to the headers was a bit tricky to put together and tighten the bolts. Overall the system went in as expected and sounds good but not crazy loud. Performance is definatly better on this little pony that as originally designed had trouble getting out of it's own way.

        DONT HESITATE!!!!!

        Just installed on the 03 v6 and MAN LET ME TELL YOU!!!! I was hesitant to drop $900 (after TN tax) on an exhaust but it no way shape or form was I disappointed. It’s not annoyingly loud when driving but ROARS when you want it to. ITS LIKE MY PONY HAS BEEN SUFFOCATING ITS ENTIRE LIF BUT NOW SHE CAN BREATHE!!!! Immediately notice more torque, shifts WAY BETTER (automatic) and my throttle response is wonderful. Only other mod I have is a cold air intake. BUY THIS NOW. Shop only charged me $175 for the install too.

        Wow

        These pipes sound great. Deep when you get on the gas but very quiet when idling. I put them on without cutting. It was a little bit of a pain that the x pipe isn't marked left and right but it was worth the sound and power. It's sit of the pants but it feels great to me.

        Good but

        Sounds beautiful I love it but my only issue is my mufflers are scraping whenever I go over any bump in the road and I haven't even lower the car yet I think I might have to take the mufflers out and just keep it straight pipe

        4 1998 V6 - DanielF Installation Time: Afternoon

        Nice sound

        The mufflers with it are not loud at idle but open up at higher rpms. Which what I was after they also have a nice deep tone for a v6 not that bumblebee sound from most others. The install takes a little time to get right. I have a 98 and the crossmember wanted to hit. Had a issue with one of the cats but American muscle was excellent with helping my and no problems on there end.

        Great sound!

        What everyone is saying about the fitment is true, but I don't really see how it can be made any better since not all cars are going to be exactly the same. I did this job in my garage with jackstands, and it was pretty difficult. More space under the car would've made a world of difference. If you can afford the labor, let a shop do the install. I do also agree with others that the instructions could be a bit more specific. Over all, I do love the sound and the turndown tips look great peeking out from under the bumper!

      Is this exhuast legal in California

      • The Pypes True Dual Catted Exhaust has not been tested or approved by the California Air Resource Board meaning this is not legal for use upon highway in the state of California.

      will this fit a 95 v6

      • This particular exhaust will not fit properly on your 1995 V6. I've attached a Flowmaster Dual Exhaust Kit below that will fit properly though if you want to check it out! I've also attached the PaceSetter Dual Exhaust adapter, that you can use in combination with any 1994-1998 GT catback of your choice. Hope this helps!

      What's the max decibels on the exhaust? Because in Colorado the max is 60 in commercial and 55 in residential so I really need a answer! Please let me know!

      • Unfortunately we do not have a decibel rating on any of our exhausts as this can be effected by a number of factors. The Pypes True Dual Catted Exhaust and all the exhausts we sell will likely far exceed 55 or 60 decibels, as this is around or under the volume of a stock Mustang's exhaust at wide open throttle.

      In the video it says you have to cut 8 1/2 inches off both down pipes. Is this correct?

      • If the factory system is still installed, you will have to cut that. No cutting of the Pypes system is required.

      • Installing this kit does not requireany tuning to be used effectiviely.

      Getting ready to install this system this weekend and I have never done this before, so excuse my ignorance, but there are two flanged pieces of pipe about 3 inches long. I'm not sure if I need them or not. The box with the X pipe and down tubes had two of these, and the box with the mufflers and tailpipes also has two of them. I don't see them mentioned in any of the instructions. Thanks. Looking forward to doing this this weekend, and want to do it right! 1 answer
