Description
Raise the Roof. Not all carbon fiber is created equal, and this Anderson Composites Dry Carbon Fiber Roof Replacement is certainly proof of this. Unlike typical “wet” finished parts, this roof features a “dry” matte finish with the carbon fiber fabric weave still very much visible. More significantly, this dry carbon fiber makes this roof even lighter. In fact, this roof weighs about 9.90 pounds, compared to stock, which weighs about 24 pounds. This reduced weight translates to a real advantage if your Challenger spends time on the track.
Heavy-Duty Build Quality. Similar to “wet” components, this roof starts out as sheets of high-grade carbon fiber fabric. The difference is, this fabric is pre-impregnated with the resin rather than the latter being applied in layers. This significantly reduces the amount of resin needed which in turn reduces the weight, but not its strength. The fabric is then hand-laid on precise molds before being vacuum-formed and high-pressure cured. This exacting method produces a part with even fewer inconsistencies within its structure. Just like traditional “wet” carbon fiber, this roof can be painted in a color of your choice or left raw. If you choose the latter, it’s advised to apply an automotive clear coat with UV inhibitors to prevent fading.
Professional Installation Recommended. Installing this roof requires cutting-out of your stock roof, as well as dismantling the head-liner, weather stripping, and other components. You will also need to perform some drilling both to your vehicle’s frame and the carbon fiber roof for the antenna. If you’re not familiar or comfortable with this type of install, professional installation is recommended.
Comes With a 6-Month Finish Warranty. This dry carbon-fiber roof comes with a 6-month warranty covering factory damage to its finish. It should be noted that this is a handmade product and small imperfections may be present. Please visit the manufacturer’s website for more details.
