for drilling does it have to be specifically 6 inches I noticed that I drilled the hole further down and wanted to know if this comprises expected gains.

        • When installing the JLT Performance Cold Air Intake, the drilling location for automatics is designed for optimal routing of the hose, and will have no effect on performance.

            Great Purchase!

Great Purchase! Definitely love the look of it under the hood. And that subtle whistle when you push on the gas makes it that much more amazing! Thank you American Muscle for this great cold air intake!

            nice intake!

This is a very nice intake definitely increases airflow can hear it pulling air while driving.only downside is the fact you have to drill out a hole for the brake booster vacuum on automatic cars not to hard just an extra step I wasn’t aware of.

            Fitment was an issue

Once it was finally installed, the intake works great, but getting it there was a challenge. The weather stripping supplied for the heat shield was way too long and I had to cut it down to fit, the heat shield itself doesn’t sit quite right, and trying to get the tube thru the heat shield felt like trying to mount a tire by hand. That being said, the sound it makes is great, and I definitely notice a bit better throttle response.

            Sounds good

I love the sound. Love the roar from the engine. Made my exhaust sound even better. Could tell a slight increase in power. My only complaint is that you have to drill a hole if you have an automatic, but overall pretty easy install. Nice intake for the price

Installed myself and know nothing about wrenches! Super easy and can definitely tell the difference in throttle response and also at 3000rpms you can really here it whistle totally worth the $$$$$

Took time installing. It went well. Note that the MAFS will be "upside down" compared to whenever you take it off. But all in all, it was smooth and awesome

JLT CAI with New Performance Exhaust

Combined the JLT CAI with new shorty headers and axle back exhaust after seeking advice/recommendations from American Muscle teammates. Turned my tame '12 V-6 into a sprint ready mustang- ready to run and so fun to listen to... I look forward to adding the right tuner next. Thanks for the guidance and recommendations American Muscle, I'll be back!

            Great intake

The quality and performance from this air intake is certainly very good and it is a definite recommend for someone looking for a bit more throttle response, power, noise, and increased gas mileage from their 2011-2014 V6 Mustang.

            Great item

Installation was pretty easy took about an hour. I’m not too sure about hp gain but I kinda felt a difference in throttle response. One things for sure, it sounds great and I’m sure once I get a tune I’ll be able to feel some gains in power.

Made my car sound great with the roush exhaust !! But for some reason it says my car is loosing gas mileage I have a 2013 Mustang V6 premium and my average was at 23.3 mpg and now it dropped to 21.7 anyone know why ???

            It breathes.

This cold air intake does not provide any noticeable performance gains. However it does accentuate the engine noise and the suction of air is very prevalent. It also cleans up the engine bay and is better looking than the stock airbox.

            Cold Air Intake

Installation could have been much easier if the weather strip was installed before the heat shield was fastened down. The tube will slide through much better with a little WD-40

            Great Purchase

This was the first upgrade I did on my mustang, and I am very happy with it. I never knew a cold air intake could add such an increase in the "Mustang roar," but I do now. It would've been about a 10 minute or less install if I was a little more of a grease monkey, but even a desk jockey like me got it installed with just the piece of paper they give you with pictures and instructions on it. Definitely would've been a better idea if I used the YouTube video I looked up later to install it lol.
