      Noticeable Performance Growl

Installation: This is my first mod. I read a few other reviews and was expecting some glitches with respect to "tight fit". I did not encounter any. The fit was perfect. There is a need for 10mm wrench to remove the stock box which was the only one that I did not have in my full wrench set. After I got it from my neighbor, the install was simple. Should only take 30 minutes tops if you have seen the installation instructions prior to installing them. Feel: After I was done, I took my pony up for a ride. Until I was within the 2K RPM it did not feel any difference as in the car was as much as a stock. But once I went above it, I could hear the growl of the engine - especially 2, 3 and 4th gears along with noticeable acceleration improvement. As soon as I felt that I was a happy customer. Things I did not notice: I did not notice any whistle sound as others are pointing out - even if I did it was not loud enough to hear. Another thing that I did not notice was improvement in throttle response - again not a reason for me to get this mod. I hope I get better fuel economy which I will know in a month's time. Up next: Axle back, lowering springs or 3.55 gears.

      Big difference!

This made a pretty big difference in my off-the-line acceleration. Takeoffs are much crisper, and it's breaking the tires loose easily now, which means maybe it's time for wheel/tire upgrades next. Add to that the throaty performance sound on acceleration, and I can easily see why a CAI is recommended as the first upgrade one should make.

Great addition to my S197 as my first mod. Took an hour only because I had a little fight with the seal that go's around the intake tube but got it on and looks way better than stock. I would highly suggest buying this if you're looking into buying CAI, thanks American Muscle for fast delivery and no problems you'll be hearing from me some more to buy some more stuff

      Better Performance

Have this along with a BAMA tuner, long tube headers, off road xpipe, and cat back exhaust. cant really hear the "WSHHHH" of air being sucked in but it definitely feels a little quicker. Kind of tight install with the shield JLT provides but it should work.

the JLT cold air intake in MY mustang(14)

I found the JLT cold air intake to be a great first mod for my 2014 V6 mustang. not only did I notice a louder sound from my exhaust but I noticed that my air intake ratio was much higher than with the factory air intake. I have so far gotten and increase of 10 miles in in my overall MPG so that's always a good thing. but I also noticed an increase in power and throttle response. As stated earlier the car is much louder and breaths easier. The install was simple with only a small hole that needed to be drilled id have to say that it was about an hour and 20 minutes to install. In short I would say that this was a great product to install I have seen the difference with and with out it and I am really satisfied with the results. My only problem with this product and why I gave it 4 stars is because I did receive the intake with a scratched heat shield but because where the scratch is located, it is hidden very well with In the engine bay. Still I am a little unset that a smooth gloss surface of the heat shield was damaged already out of the box. other than that I strongly encourage any one thinking about getting this item to Go Ahead AND BUY IT because you will not be disappointed with your purchase.

      Best cai for the price.

In this case you get more than you paid for. While the install instructions are lacking this isn't hard to overcome you should get the general idea from them. This is my first jlt purchase I've installed cais before. That being said this wasn't the easiest install but it wasn't terribly hard either. You do need to drill a hole for the automatics. While it isnt difficult it would be easier if the factory did this with an optional plug for manuals. The shield fits with a good bit of persuasion but doesn't simply fall into place. The reduced is tight but not the most difficult part. The overall fit is nice once you go get it all together albeit a bit tight at points. With this being said this product was worth it. I do have a tuner to go along with it. Honestly you can feel an increase in power and it makes the throttle a bit touchy. Overall I am thoroughly enjoying this purchase if you are debating it I can say it is most definitely worth it.

      The Real Deal

This is technically my second go round with the JLT intake, with a diversion to Roush in between. Let's just say, the more curves your intake has, the less top end power you're gonna get. The JLT is a straight ram intake for a very good reason: it works! That SandB filter is larger than most, which also has to make a difference. This intake works perfectly fine with a stock tune, but it's barely on the edge of civility. Just where I like it. These things are easy to install, just rip out the old stuff and assemble the new, tighten 3 band clamps and you're done. I skipped the trim around the tube opening. I did take my time and lined up and measured the hole for my auto trans vacuum hose. Everything went together just as it should, no muss no fuss. The instructions are adequate, the pics are a joke, but you really have to try hard to screw this install up. I took my time with drilling and installing the extra vacuum tap, so it took a couple of hours. No leaks, no issues on fire up. It idles and drives around the neighborhood well. Now, to add that tune and head to the track.

      Good for the price

The installation instructions that JLT gives you was not detailed enough. I would expect more detail and the overall fitment was no good. 2 bolts are suppose to hold down the heat shield and it did not fit correctly. It has has a nice whistle noise and throttle response increased but do not make sense that you need to drill into the intake if you have an automatic. Overall it was decent and is deeper noise.
