Hey, everybody. Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my complete breakdown of the Magnaflow Competition Series Catback Exhaust System fitting your 2015 Coyote powered GT.Magnaflow has definitely made a name for themselves over the past 30 or so years, as one of the best in the biz, thanks largely in part to their quality build, great sound and perfect fitment. The Competition Catback from Magnaflow will no doubt be one of the more aggressive systems available for your Coyote Powered GT, and will certainly be much more aggressive when compared to the Magnaflow Street Catback. The main difference in sound is simple; it's in the muffler here. This is a straight-through design which will not only free up a lot of power, but also give you that very tough sound a lot of us Mustang owners are after.Getting into some of the specifics, you will notice the competition includes 3-inch mandrel bent tubing from the included crossover, or X pipe, which does take the place of that factory suitcase portion of your exhaust, along with these straight-through competition mufflers and out the brightly polished, rather large, four-and-a-half inch tips.I do want to point out that this entire kit has been constructed from 100% quality stainless steel. So besides looking good for years to come, you're also going to save a few pounds when compared to your factory, rather hefty, exhaust there. Now guys, if you do want to see more detailed photos of this exhaust including some customer reviews, then just click on the link below to head back to the product page, if you're not already there.Since the 2015s are equipped with IRS, removing the old exhaust and bolting up the new Catback should be a lot easier than previous generations, thanks largely in part that you don't have to deal with those over-axle pipes. With that being said, removing that factory exhaust and installing the new Competition here from Magnaflow, should only take you about two hours using basic hand tools. Now it's time to hear how the Magnaflow Competition Catback sounds compared to our factory exhaust.

Old School Sound
I have a 2016 GT and after hearing other 5.0's around town I decided to go old school and look for the deep tones. It definitely is a head turner for sure. There's some drone but I don't mind it, it's a great reminder of having a V8. Not sure how my neighbors feel about the noise in the morning but it doesn't really matter it guess.Helpful (0)

Love the Exhaust! Wish the drone wasn't so bad. Definitely takes some getting used to. Overall doesn't sound like all other mustangs. 1.5 install time. Having a lift is a life saver!Helpful (0)

Was nervous this system would be too loud for a daily driver but wanted a deep full sound. This system delivers there are moments where it gets loud inside but it’s never too much to enjoy. Would highly recommend this exhaust if you’re looking for a deep sound and rare moments of rasp.Helpful (8)

I was on the fence when it came to choosing an exhaust for my '17 GT PP. It ultimately came down to Magnaflow Competition cat back or Borla Attak...I went with the Magnaflow. I couldn't be any happier, I chose MF because of the reviews. Reviewers stated it was a classic low rumble, while Borla was a screamer. My wife was a screamer, she made me crazy. Anyway, yes there is the drone at 1900 rpm. But you know what??? I don't care (it really isn't that bad, in fact I love it), it just assures me that that bad Coyote sitting under the hood has just been uncorked...Just the tip of the iceberg here, great plans in store for my sexy beast. I did not buy my exhaust from AM, however the rest of my dream list will come from them. This exhaust did not disappoint, and I honestly feel that I made the right decision, and I would do it again.Helpful (6)

Incredible Sound...horrible drone
The sound that this cat-back produces is absolutely incredible. It's a deep throaty rumble that never gets too raspy. In my opinion, this is the best sounding cat-back available for the S550. However, at lower RPM's, the intense drone is almost unbearable. After 3 days, I developed horrible ear pain and had to replace the factory resonator but left the axle-back portion. Fortunately, the deep rumble that makes this exhaust sound so good stays relatively intact with just the axle-back, but with a much more subdued cabin drone. If you intend to use this as a daily driver, I would strongly consider looking into the axle-back option.Helpful (9)

Very easy to in stall I had put the car up on Jackstands undid 6 bolts from the stock exhaust and took off the exhaust. Putting the new exhaust on was an ease by filling the YouTube video. Love the way my car sounds only thing I don't like is there is a drone at certain rpms but I just turn up the radio and all. Is goodHelpful (4)
how much horsepower will it add to my 2015 mustang 5.0 gt
Hi, This Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back Exhaust by its self will at most add 1-3 HP.
I own the ecoboost version with the Ypipe. My question is can i just purchase an Xpipe that can just be swapped out to fit my ‘16 GT? If so can u recommend some?
No, sections of EcoBoost exhausts will not transfer directly to the GT platform with the addition of a y-pipe portion.
I bought a 2017 GT with this already on. Are there magna flow or other mufflers I can add to decrease the sound while not causing too much flow restriction?
Thinking about going with the Magnaflow Competition catback for my 2016 GT convertible. I’m concerned about the drone but I figured with the convertible the drone should be a bit diminished. Wondering if my thinking is correct?
We would not be too concerned with drone when using this exhaust on your convertible. That will be an awesome set up!
will this system bolt up to a 3 inch catless bbk mid pipe in to long tubes I have a corsa catback on it going into long tubes currently . wondering if I will need to do any cutting or welding ?
The Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back Exhaust will be compatible with your current exhaust setup.
The RTR Performance competition is using a different style of muffler compared to the Magnaflow mode. The Magnaflow using a more bullet straight through style for a higher note, compared to the RTR.
The Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back Exhaust utilizes straight through mufflers for minimal restriction, which will make this exhaust one of the louder offerings we have.
The Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back Exhaust will fit a 2016 Mustang GT Convertible without any issues.
The Magnaflow is going to have a smaller RPM range of drone when compared to the competition. However, in this particular case it is certainly possible a noticeable drone may occur as this has a straight-through muffler.
Unfortunately, we do not just sell the Competition muffler. You can get the Magnaflow Competition Axle-Back Exhaust (15-17 GT), item # 389032, (http://www.americanmuscle.com/magnaflow-competition-axleback-15gt.html). This axle-back will include the competition mufflers.
This cat-back will not be a direct fit on a 2016 V6 Mustang. This exhaust system is only designed for 15-17 GT Mustangs.
Hi, This cat-back is a direct bolt on and will bolt straight up to the factory Mid-Pipe without any extra modifications required on the 2015-2017 GT Mustang.
With the Magnaflow Competition Cat-Back Exhaust you will not be noticing any difference in gas mileage after installation.
